I love your teas, of course, but your tisanes seem quite underrated. I found a lot of education through your tisane offerings, and would welcome other videos on the matter. I look forward to trying this one.
After trying the mulberry leaf powder, I decided to combine it with 1 part mulberry, 1 part (real) matcha, and the result was a combination of the intensity of the matcha, combined with the mellowness of the mulberry leaf taking the edge off of the bitterness and digestive harshness. Definitely recommend if you are interested in trying it.
I am grateful for this video and the existence of this product, which I just recently discovered existed. I love matcha but it must be age, because my caffeine metabolism is changing and though I used to be able to fall asleep on tea, coffee... whatever--it took repeated sleepless nights and process of elimination for me to figure out that I can't have matcha at night anymore. Thank God there's an alternative!
Love my morning matcha but I find myself missing it later that day. This might be my new choice for the evening, good stuff! Bout a week later, ordered 100g and its great. Don't get me wrong, I still prefer matcha, but its an excellent (and way cheaper) alternative.
Tank you for yet another fun and informative video. I'm always amazed when I find new common plants that can be used for a nice and warm concoction. I have red tea rose and jasmine. I've learnt from your videos that the sweet flowery bush that I have is honeysuckle and sometimes I'm pairing it with deep roasted oolongs. And now this. I have a big red mulberry tree, so I might as well try out some tisane (although I can't be bothered to powderise it).
Just when I place my first Power Up order, you go and release Nug Berry and now this! :) I enjoy matcha (koicha) before meditation in the morning, but have found that taking it on an empty stomach has an adverse effect on my blood pressure. Really looking forward to trying this tisane. Thanks for always innovating!
Ah very interesting... Lately I've been dealing with migraine triggered by caffeine, why I have a hold on most tea's, miss consuming my yummy Mei leaf teas, this might be the perfect substitute! 😍
Thank you I growth them and make tea..but your vdo give me new idea for me to make as Matcha and all I need to control..high pertention and Cholesterol. Thank you very helpful so much.
Thanks Don! i got some mulberry leaf tea in my local eastern european supermarket. the flavour is mellow and unique. one more thing to add to my uncommon herbal tea menu at home. i hardly ever drink sinensis now unfortunately, even though i did my dissertation on it
Wow, this sounds like a true innovation into our tea universe! Looking forward to trying such an intriguing proposition. I am very sensitive to caffeine and I'm glad to know there's something for later times and day's I am abstaining! Thank you both!
Hey Don and seline. I am a huge fan and bought lots of tea from you. I was wondering if you could make a video about tea and pregnancy.... In the near future. I want to get pregnant in the near future... Xoxo
Hi Don, sounds very interesting, is it safe to drink small quantities while pregnant? My body’s not able to handle caffeine at all at the moment and I’d love to find some good caffeine free alternatives.
Good question and I do not have the specific answer for you. I would assume that the effects would be mild yet cumulative and allow you to monitor your BP and adjust any medication appropriately and in discussion with your health practitioner. Herbal and drug interactions are important to consider although in my many decades of experience as a director of a private clinic I have found them to be usually very easy to manage since the effect of the herbs are slower and easier to monitor.
Where are these sourced from? (Edit - alright, Japan, that's good. I wrote the following w.r.t. your china-sourced teas and tisanes) Quite honestly, I'm getting more and more sceptical of "raw products" like tea leaves - especially those for macha - grown in the mainland C due to extreme abuse of pesticides that is normal there when nobody's looking... So if these leaves are also from mainland, I'd want to see independent-lab testing results to prove that the powder doesn't have harmful stuff in it... (I've bought a fair few Mei Leaf teas in the past, c.a. 2029/20 and iirc a bit in 2021 - I like your company; but seeing more and more videos of how food (etc. - I fully expect tea is no different than rice, vegetables and so on) is grown in china, I want something more safe/proven than "small farm owner told us its safe & we didn't see pesticide bottles on 1 day of year we were there")... Now... if you can get third-party lab tests done in e.g. London or elsewhere in UK, showing that teas (and tisanes) are contaminant-free, I'll be ordering again.
In my opinion, one of the biggest misconceptions about Taiwan vs Japan vs China is the assumption that China uses more pesticides per kg of specialty tea produced. From my experience travelling through these tea countries for 20 years (not just to our producers but travelling past hundreds of other producers), pesticide use is more prevalent and accepted in Japan and Taiwan overall. Just like all fruits, vegetables and natural products, many producers will use approved pesticides to maintain their crop, it depends on the individual producer and highlights the importance of selecting partners to do business with and choosing teas/tisanes accordingly. Our teas are sample tested upon arrival into the UK and sometimes we do sample testing at source (especially for new producers). This Mulberry powder is pesticide free according to the producer.
Why do you need a matcha alternative? Matcha is super healthy you don’t need anything to replace it for healthy purposes. Unless you don’t like matcha yet if you don’t like matcha then you don’t drink matcha means you don’t need an alternative option you need another option lmao. I understand matcha is coffee alternative because drinking too much coffee isn’t good for your health, but matcha?
Matcha has a lot of caffeine even though the way it is assimilated is different than coffee. Some people are very sensitive to matcha because of that hence why mulberry leaf (kuwa matcha) is a good alternative since it's caffeine free but tastes similar to regular matcha.

Ooh, I may have to try this in the morning, combined with a qi gong practice and a meditation. Setting up for the rest of the day. 😌

I want to get pregnant in the near future...
Xoxo
We have made one video already - th-cam.com/video/v4GsZg0cWgk/w-d-xo.html
How many cups would one get from a 100g tin assuming two chashaku scoops?
Probably about 50. Usually 2 scoops equals about 2 grams
Yes around 50

There are no known contraindications with pregnancy.
Will this product be a reoccurring product on your website?
Intriguing how it looks identical to matcha powder...thought it would be more on the earthy brown side?
there is someone from Slovakia who buys tea from mei leaf?if so write me message
So thick ad puddingey....😅😂 nice
2:35
I would like to combine it with matcha
Nice idea!
Huh, I have a bunch of mulberry leaves. I only ever consumed the berries
Can you mix matcha and mulberry together
Yes we enjoy this mix
I have a tree I am going to do this with the leaves.
I do have a huge whitemulberrie tree in my garden, could I make the powder myself with the youngest leaves?
What if you are on blood pressure medication, will it cause problems…. A lot of herbal sups can have negative effects with medications
