I'm saying this with the best intentions at heart. These covers don't reflect you, your channel or your blog, Fleur. I hope this doesn't make you nervous or anxious, it's just an opportunity to keep making your book better and getting it where I know you want it to be. You have very high standards, never compromise them. This is YOUR book. Thank you for putting so much hard work into it. Looking forward to buying it.
A nice matte white cover with "The Glam Guide" in gold or silver script and some gold or silver stars would suit your image and your channel much more.. This looks like another version of zoella's book, anyone agree??
I actually like the pink one but after reading this I totally know what you mean! Something chic and simple with embossed metallic lettering would look so lush!!
Yes I think the white would be perfect!
I sososososossosooooooo agreee
Zoes book is amzing i think fleurs looks kinda cheap not being nasty xxxx love ya
I think that is such a great idea, just white with gold writing and stars would look so nice ⭐️
I think something gold with silver and gold stars with your name in a curvy fancy font would be beautiful! But between the plink and the green I'd pick the pink. I just think it looks a little thrown together and last minute.
Yesss! That would look so good :)
Christmas morning I woke up and my mom was crying because she couldn't afford christmas this year so I hugged her and told her it was okay , because she trys her best and I'm greatful for what I do have . I have a roof over my head , food on my table , Electricy in my house , & most inportantly a beautiful hard working mom . I have all I could ever ask for . & some people don't have that , so everyone needs to be greatful for what they do have . 💓😘😍✊& I hope you all enjoyed your holidays .
I like the pictures of the left cover and the colours on the right cover x
Yes I do too!! 💕
Agreed!
I totally agree with u!💕
Same
Agree!
As a graphic designer I think the one on the right is the best. The color contrast makes the text pop and is visually more attention grabbing. I also think the photos are better. The purple one is nice, but the colors don't pop and read flat so while pretty and girly it's not as attention grabbing ... And it's more cliche for a beauty book ( the colors). I like the green!
I agree!
I like the green one better, as well. As you said, pink is a little bit cliché...
I'm a graphic designer too and couldn't agree more!! The one with the green background looks better :)
I agree! :)
100% Agree.
They say in retail shops that people are more attracted to things on their left side, because it's how we process information, from left to right, or something like that, and it's so funny because I've totally found myself being more inclined to pick something on the left, sooo I made a metal note to switch things around ( because I'm a rebel ;) )and paused the video to look at each cover, but must say I still prefer the left, purple/pink cover! Haha! I think it's more you! Both are beautiful though! So exciting!
I love that the pink has the teacup from your mother! I think that is a nice little personal touch that a lot of people will not get, but that is wonderful for you :)
The mint cover on the right is far more striking! The pink/purple one is more of your standard colours for a beauty book. If I saw the two in the shop the mint would I draw me in quicker than the pink!
Agree:)
Seeing some of the illustrations from your book in one of your vlogs, I feel neither of the covers suit it. I am a massive fan of you and your videos, and have been watching you for many years now, and would hate to see the hard work and effort you have put into creating this book not to pay off because of the cover. I feel you could create a really sophisticated and simple cover, which would attract a wide range of audiences. If one of those was to be chosen, I'd go for the pink one. But whatever the cover is, I will be purchasing it as I can see the large amount of effort you have put into it!
I completely agree, and just wrote something very similar. You said it very well though.
I was drawn to the green one but I like the pictures on the pink one better
Same!
Exactly what I was thinking so u vote the pink one.
EXACT SAME
Me too!
Same!!!
I prefer the pictures of the pink book cover, but I prefer the green colour scheme. But as everyone already said, you can't go wrong with either, because, well, it's YOUR book. Can you believe it? Well done! You should be so proud of yourself. You made a really good job, Fleur.
I like the cover with the green background best. So many TH-camrs are coming out with books, but yours is the only one that I plan on buying! So proud of you!!!
Oh, these covers do NOT represent you very well
!!!
Could be more sophisticated!
This cover is not made from someone, who watched your videos. With this cover, you are not reaching your usual target audience, it looks like made for much younger, treasure trove of experience - girls.
I completely agree, this shines through more for me in the book that's on the left, the pink and purple makes it seem like its aimed towards preteens which I'm assuming its not
I completely agree with Jo. These covers definitely do not represent you well Fleur. I've never missed any of your videos since you first started doing TH-cam and you are pure class - i don't think these covers do you much justice. And I also agree with some other comments that perhaps an illustrated cover would be good. Please believe me these are not negative comments, but from viewers whose been following you for years and just want the best for you and your book, we know how hard you've worked on it. Sending you lots of love.
I agree, the cover is a bit cute, but not very sophisticated... when I buy a book I like that It also looks good and I can put it in a shelf in open space where everyone can see it.... but I would not purchase this.... it looks very teen like... and I'm way over that age. Maybe just because I'm in a design sphere myself, cover of this book to me looks like either person who made this doesn't watch/like your videos and/or is a new designer who spent like 20 minutes for this... Sorry, no hard feelings. I love your videos and you are amazing!!! Hope you will have a great success with your book!
Agreed! Please redo the cover if you can
Agree. Either more like you, sophisticated or sex & the city meets fleur,...I think PINK pics and color r my favorite. I guess their okay but I'd change the boxed graphics on images..at least of you...UR the brand could just be a pic of u with tea & lipstick in hand :).
I loooove the mint cover on the right! Merry christmas :)
Hi eve would you mind checking out my channel it would mean a lot!!!
I like the one on the left. The one with the pink blush and brushes. I like the pops of color.
i really like the one on the left because the pink powder really makes it stand out more, cant wait for the book !!xxx
hope you and mike had a great christmas!! x
I feel like the book cover would look better if the photos weren't there and it was just the writing because to me it would look more professional. I love you Fleur but I hate to say that both covers looks kind of cheap? The photo's look like they were just found off google and were copy pasted onto the cover.
i agree i don't think that either cover works... someone else in the comments said something about rose gold, small stars and maybe just the text with no pictures and i'm leaning toward that as well.
I agree the pictures are to much.
I 150% agree, those covers are not the best at all! They are almost tacky!
Remove all the pictures and you have a best seller!
Totally agree, but I do think that the brush at the bottom looks kinda cute and that she should keep that on her cover
I agree with the other comments, neither of these colors showcases how fantastic you and your channel are! I think if it were styled more simply, and less like a collage, so for example a gorgeous photo of you with that script over it then it would be more striking and professional. Kind've like your wedding photos, where you had gorgeous shots of you getting ready. Or even more akin to the thumbnails you create for outfit videos. I'm so excited to read this book, and I love your channel, but you deserve a more special cover!
The pink one, but I agree with what the others say in that because we are all a lot older than other youtubers viewers, something suggested below like the gold stars and elegant font maybe with a white or off white background would look so classy and sophisticated :) love you lots fleur!!!
Loved everything you got! I really like the pink cover.
Fleur, I absolutely LOVED the sneak peek of the inside of the book you showed in vlogmas, and it made me so excited. But to be perfectly honest, none of these covers (to me) reflect you or the pages inside the book. Like others have stated, it looks pretty amateurish. It would be wonderful if it could be a picture of you in the style of that gorgeous, dreamy photoshoot you did for "my little box", that when you look at it you immediately think of glamor. At the end of the day it's your decision of course, but since this is obviously such an amazing achievement for you, it seems important that the cover should reflect that ❤
The green one looks less teeny bopper, I would probably pick that one up over the pink/purple one. I'm 24 years old and love you Fleur, but I have to agree with some of the comments, you're much more classy, and I would have loved a more "Glamorous" book cover to display on my coffee table.
Love the one on the left, the pink one I believe, with the cuppa and painted nails at the top. Beautiful!
obsessed with your necklace :D
i was just gunna say that and then saw yr comment
obsessed with u shannon, i watched your Christmas vid 4 times - ily
In the store I would be most drawn to the green one, but when I look closely, I personally like the pictures on the pink one better :-)
I agree!
I agree too!
I totally agree and I want to add more that there is something of with your picture you are way more beautiful
Exactly what I was thinking!
Same :)
Lovely and such thoughtful gifts! They all know you so well. :P
I love the green cover better. It's brighter in my eyes and seems more of an eye catcher. Though as a graphics designer, I feel like they could've done better at the design of the book with the pictures. :/
True, the square pictures don't look that great
I agree. I actually don't think that the pictures are necessary at all.
The PINK cover compliments the pictures on the cover better!! Both are beautiful! Congrats Fleur!
I feel horrible saying this as I love you Fleur and I'm really excited for your book to come out, but, I don't fancy either cover. I like both colour schemes as well as the powder and brush at the bottom. But I feel like the little square polaroids make the book look cheap or magazine like. Less is more so maybe a less busy cover would suit the book more?
I don't really love either. Though without seeing content I can't say how the cover correlates. I imagined something much more glam/luxe. Maybe something in rose gold with the flour de force font. Not sure but I just I gained it different. If push came to shove I choose the green book cover with a mixture of images from both covers.
Fleur, don't want to injure you but I personally don't like neither of the covers. Composition is not so good. The only one thing I like is the brush in the corner) But all in all it looks quite primitive. I'm sure book will be amazing and definitely will buy one for myself. Just my opinion - work a little bit more on cover. But anyway, if choose btw these two - the left one is better :)
Forget to mention, I like the style of the picture which was put in your sample box.
And also think that it'll be better to put in the cover your photo, doing makeup for example. So only your photo on the white paper - but it will be stylish, with good quality.
OMG, your gifts are so lovely! What incredible and thoughtful friends and family. I love the bag because it looks gorgeous and organized. I usually carry a suitcase with all my junk.
I like the one on the right more, but honestly not a big fan of either one. I'd say get rid of all of the photos so it's more minimalistic. Just have the makeup brush on the bottom and the text/stars. The photos cheapen it for me, and make it less visually appealing.
P
this needs to be top comment so Fleur can see! their idea is great but I agree 100% on the photos
Totally agree with you (i'm a graphic designer), the green one is better but i would get rid of all the photos. There is too much going on for me in these covers.
I completely agree with you. I think the photos chosen make it look a bit tacky and I'd expect to see the photo of Fleur on the back of the book not the front. The text is nice though.
I agree the photos just looks oddly placed and not appealing
I've been imagining a more 'Lauren Conrad'-esque style cover. White background with close up of Fleur on front but, I vote Pink :)
I think of the options the pink one is better. HOWEVER, if your publishers are looking at these comments I think you could get rid of the smaller pictures and your face should pretty much take up the whole cover. For example, a picture of you doing your makeup with your back to the camera, so all your beautiful golden locks are showcased, but we could see your face in the mirror. I would look at Lauren Conrad - esque pictures. She is very well put together. I think the cover could look more professional. To me, you appeal to youtubers your own age, and higher, you act your age, and you come across as very professional, sophisticated and conservative (in a good way) and the current book cover doesn't really reflect that to me. It is still something to be very proud of and this is only my opinion, I just think it could look a little less thrown together. Even the square edges on the smaller photos look a little stark/harsh, and to me that doesn't reflect you as a person.
I would agree. It would be nice if you could focus on your and the star just because that is what defines you and pulls you away from others. Just an idea.
I agree 100%
I completely agree with you as well, I think the smaller photos look like they don't even blend together that well, like they've just been randomly thrown together. There could definitely be better shots used for the photos, like you said, either her sitting in front of a mirror doing hair/makeup, or doing some sort of DIY project. Better than a pair of heels or blue nails for sure
I agree
I agree...not trying to be mean or anything ,I appreciate that you actually ask us for advice so I think it's right to be honest..both covers are just too busy too much of everything you are just so classy and simple i think your book cover should reflect that..
My mom once got an upcycled wine bottle as a Christmas present. All you have to do is drill a hole in the side of the bottle near the side that's large enough to push fairy lights through. Push the fairy lights in until you can't fit any more and then you just plug it into the wall. You can also use battery operated lights if you want to put the bottle somewhere that doesn't have an outlet close by. Her bottle was tinted dark green so I'm not sure how it would look with a lighter or clear bottle but it's really fun and they make great gifts if you make customized labels as well.
Fleur, I adore you, but I didn't like either cover, really. You are such a sophisticated, beautiful woman and I really think both covers remind me more of young adult book covers... just my 2cents.
I Agree!
Agree.. But if i nad to choose i'd choose the green one cause the pink one makes u look like stupie blondie girl which your not(!)
I feel like the pictures need a frame or something..
If these are the ONLY two options, then the green one for sure. The green one has better contrast between the background and the "fleur de force" signature. Overall, though, I would push for a different cover option. It looks like another pre-packaged TH-camr book cover, not like an actual glam guide done by a professional.
I have to agree with most people on here...I was a bit disappointed by the covers as they don't scream Fleur De Force to me...they scream pre teen 😕
You are a sophisticated woman and these covers look like the person that has designed them doesn't know you at all and has thrown something half arsed together.
You adore high end products, rose gold,stars,cooking,family,dogs....I saw one or two of the above.
I think a re do is required, but if this cannot be done id have to say the green...however I prefer the pictures in the pink x
I'd go for the left cover, the purple makes your book such a luxury!
Firstly let me say how much i adore your blog and videos... you are amazing but neither cover appeals to me, I would have loved to have seen a rose gold metallic cover as totally represents you. Was expecting an artier cover rather than one with a few snap shots.... no doubt your book will be fab and i truly do not judge a book by its cover xx
Honestly Fleur i would advise you to pick something more sophisticated, minimalistic and "clean" for the cover. The ones you presented looked more childish, especially the pictures along the top made it look as if my 14 year old cousin made it. I would invision your book cover to look more "chic" and "high end" , like some gorgeous coffee table books i've seen. I say this in the NICEST way possible, cause i really respect the hard work you've put into this. It's my honest advice as i would say it to my best friend.
I completely agree in the nicest way possible. Something chic like a white background with black and rose gold to compliment your style would be perfect.
Karen S I agree, and in fact i really like your idea of white and rosegold with some black details! It would be much more fitting and luxurious looking! You can't judge a book by its cover, but let's be honest, especially when it comes to "lifestyle/beauty/fashion" coffee table books, the cover has to look "high-end" and something you would want to display. I think that kind of minimalistic cover would suit Fleur better! ;)
I agree dont like this cover book....
Also no one should have their face on a cover. at least move it to the back cover or the inside cover
Agreed
Just because of who you are and what is actually in the book, i don't think either of them. I like the pink better but i don't know if i'd buy it. Your book is one i'd leave on a coffee table as a decoration *and* to read, so a pretty but simple cover seems more appropriate. Of course in the end it is your book though, and i'd buy it for the content not the front cover :)
I agree that the green one would look the best if it had the pictures from the pink one. I'm so happy for you Fleur and I know how exciting this must be after so much hard work!!!
If I had to chose it would be the green one due to more sophistication, but really looking at them both after watching you for so many years, they don't represent you very well, something more suttle yet sweet would have done the trick, like a block a block-coloured book eg, white with rose gold lettering & one centred picture, of something that represents you and your love for beauty. For your level of skill it does not capture what you can produce, it is aiming towards the teenage//kiddy section which makes it appear less sophisticated. I'm only saying this because I know the book itself will be fab!! Xxxx
I vote green, but i must say that i agree with many commenters and say that it looks like not a lot of thought was put into the aesthetic of the cover :( the photos and snippets you've showed us of what you've been working on all look very aesthetically clean, minimalistic, and bright and the cover doesn't seem to reflect that with the square photos//pink text. The cover of course won't stop me from buying, but I do think it says a lot to people who don't watch you religiously. Totally not trying to be hypercritical, but helpful! xx
It's destroying me to admit but I don't think the covers are as classy as we think of you. I prefer the left one though. I like the brush in the bottom right corner and the little stars are just gorgeous but there's something off about the general vibe. Maybe a larger picture of you? God knows I'll be proud to be reading your book on the bus or wherever I am, might as well show it off that it's by you :)
Still though - the green one drew me in first but looking at both for awhile, I now think the pink cover is my favourite.
Delighted you had should a good holiday! X
I still enjoy watching this video. I am such a star fan and I love that it is her star theme. They royals should have your book.
Of the two, I like the pink better. However, resonating with previous comments, I thought the 5 pictures at the top didn't fit well with what I perceive to be Fleur's style and it doesn't look as professional or put together as it could be. I love you Fleur, but I'm not sure whether your face should be on the cover - and if it is, perhaps some shape (e.g. circular frames or Polaroid frames) would make it seem more put together. Overall, I am so excited to read your book, but I hope the cover can look more professional. :)
For some ideas, if you really want the multiple pictures, you could put them in a frame (e.g. a Polaroid frame) and stack them on top of each other to look like a stack of photos or the like! :)
I adore you Fleur, so I'm being honest! You gotta ask your publisher to create another cover for you because these covers look quite amateur. I'm not a creative designer or anything but I think a minimalistic cover with no pictures would be better. Perhaps just the words "The Glam Guide" and "FleurDeForce" on it. To replace the pictures of the make up brushes and shoes etc. you can add a caption like "Beauty. Fashion. Lifestyle." A simple background like blurred fairy lights or a rose gold-colored bokeh or glittery background would be nice! As others have mentioned, the photo of yourself can go on the back cover with a little 'About the Author' section. I wish all the best Fleur, and whatever the outcome, I will definitely be purchasing the book (I hope it will be available in my country)!
Fleur, if you're really happy with these covers, you should go for it. But I think they are a bit cheap looking. I'm very sorry, I don't want to be rude and I want your book to succeed, so I hope it helps. Your subbies are very supportive and we all look forward to your book, but I think designers should put more thought into it.
For your book cover I love the green, I feel like it's stands out a lot more, in my opinion. However, the pink one is lovely too
Omg fleur i love your makeup in this video!
the one on the left is better. However just like many others have mentioned, not to put you down- or say that the publishers don't know what they are doing- but you have been working so hard on this book and I think the cover should look more chic and glamorous and not like a collage you can make yourself. Your photo should be the main one and definitely keep the brush with the pink powder. Your paying the publishers so they should put more effort and come up with some different designs/grapics.
I like the Fleur de Force font keep that too! maybe put that under your portrait. The title shouldnt take up the whole page
Honestly, Fleur... I don't like either of the covers.
The font is nice, both colour schemes are pretty (I think pink would be best), I really like the powder/brush at the bottom + you look great in the photo BUT it's the square photos... It makes both covers look very plain, basic, hate to say this but 'cheap' almost.
I think if something was done to the layout/framing of the photos then you'd be on to a winner.
On a happier note, glad to see you got lots of lovely gifts for Xmas + all with personal touches. :) Shame about the coat but I hope you found some fab stuff in the sales today. x
Forgot to say... That illustrator you're using for your book. I looked up her stuff + it's gorgeous. Could you not maybe incorporate some of her work onto the cover instead?
The right / second cover looks best in my opinion. A lot brighter and the small accents of red in the photos look good with the muted green. Enjoyed the video by the way!
I have to agree with the other commenters, but these covers don't seem like you. You've always been such a sophisticated, classy and polished young lady, and these covers just look quite cheap. I think a photo of you getting ready putting on makeup or doing your hair or something would be a lot better. Even something like Lauren Conrad's book cover. Simple, elegant, and you.
Overall I liked the cover on the left best. It looks a bit more like 'you' if that makes sense. Hope you are having a great christmas!
I'm a graphic design/communication student and I find these two covers rather unprofessional looking. However the photo of you is beautiful, have you thought about having that photo in the same ink/hand rendered style as the illustrations which feature in your book? I think that might look quite nice:-) I love your videos and can't wait to get my hands on a copy of your book x
I prefer the pink one but I also understand where every one is coming from when they say keep it simple and add some stars as you love stars so much x
I have to agree with a lot of people that I don't love the covers I'm so sorry! I've been watching all of your videos on both channels for about 4+ years and I just don't think they do you justice! They seem a little on the "cheap"/ not professional side... I agree with maybe something classier, with rose gold and stars or something!
But of the two I would say the pink :) Love you Fleur!
I prefer the design of the one on the right but prefer the colours of the left
from a graphic designers perspective : the pictures would look better with thin white borders and shadows beneath so that they appear more layered (right now they look just thrown on there)...I would consider changing the font for "the glam guide" since it doesnt gel well with the fleur de force font (which is lovely btw). Also i prefer the green color scheme on the right, because your name stands out better in the pink font :)
Really really love the first cover on the left! The pink powder at the bottom really brighten up the cover :)
the pink one but the picture of the author goes in the back. It doesn't seem too "glam" though. I'm not getting that vibe.
Totally right, if the author's pic isn't the main focus of the cover, it should be on the back. It actually took me a while to focus on Fleur's face on the front, which seems like a big no-no if you're gonna have your face on the front at all.
Agree. I think her photo should be on the back where she explains the description of the book. It makes it more personal.
It looks the exact opposite of glam and also like the person who made it doesn't know anything about graphic design. sorry.
The pink one without the photos, sorry Fleur. love ya :)
The photo of you should stay of course!
Stinaliza73 I agree the photos is what I don't like..
The pink one is prettier, but I have to admit I don't like the top half, wish there was something like the blush brush on top , like a broken lipstick and a spilt nail polish all in pinkish tones to go well with the cover, and not add a personal picture on the front, it makes it look more like a magazine than a book. :)
Oh and make the stars on it glittery, it will give it a pop when it's on bookshop shelves ;)
The left cover!! The pictures are of things that make me think of you!
You could make your book cover a lot more classy and chic by just having an all black background and white typo on it, that would be really pretty and much more appealing to me when I'd see it in shops!
I agree with everyone saying these covers are a bit disappointing tbh! I think covers are a huge part of the marketing of a book and the only people that cover will really appeal to are preteens... I love both the green and the pink colours, plus the typography of the title/your name/the star and the make up brush at the bottom, but the photos on it look so awkward and misplaced! Would it be possible for a few more designs to be created to give us/you (because you definitely deserve for this book to be a success!) some more options? I don't think the covers accurately represent how mature and sleek you are - I understand why the photos are there, but maybe have them on the back cover instead?
I think that the pictures on both covers aren't too great...they kind of look like clip art that would be on a school project poster board. I would suggest an illustrated cover...something like the my little box drawing of you...perhaps you or your face illustrated in that way, and the title of your book in elegant script. there could even be a dusting of blush or glittery powder around the title to indicate the theme of the book. best of luck and happy holidays! :)
Both covers are fantastic but I love the one where you can see the bottom of your pumps and the braid.x Happy New Year.
The pink one seems more Fleur, but I like the green one. That being said, I agree that it doesn't feel very glam. It does feel very 12-year-old. I think it would look much better with the author's photo on the back.. :)
I will agree with comments saying that none of the covers actually suit you.
I really think that if we're talking GLAM you should consider a white cover with the title written in a fancy, handwriting maybe, font in rose gold and black color combination and stars around in some way.
But the BEST idea is really what someone suggested - let your subbies create your cover! Let them try, I know there are many talented beasts out here! :)
xo
Even though it is a guide I don't think it should have all those pictures on the cover page as it looks all over the place... I don't feel it gives your guide justice because although I have not read it yet I'm sure it will be such a great girly manual! I would have opted for a glamed up profile photo of you from one of the two book shoots that you had ... Everything else is already inside the book and there is no need to take up your cover page ... Or perhaps an illustration of you similar to that box that you received ....
The pink cover is perfect! I think cause your name's fleur I immediately think of pink. It's just the color associated with flowers and beauty.
I do have to agree that the covers don't really fit the whole glam idea. I like the writing and the makeup brush at the bottom but the pictures at the top remind me of like a school project. I think maybe if they were drawn into the background or something that could work. I don't want to hurt your feelings because I can tell you're super excited and this is a HUGE deal. In the end YOU have to love it so go with your heart.
Having read the comments I am sorry to say I agree with the majority, I don't like either of the covers particularly. I don't feel they are an accurate portrayal of you or the book and look quite immature. I will certainly be buying one when it comes out but I don't think I would display it on my coffee table. On a separate note I loved that McQueen scarf.
Ive got a great idea... how about getting your subscribers to design a cover and submiting that to the publisher? Im sure one of us could do a better representation of you!! then you'd have hundreds to choose from...
Agree with u
That's what hank and John green have done for many many projects....so many talented viewers who know the audience better and whatFluer is like at least on camera...
Love the covers! The pink one seems to be more "you"! But whichever you choose will be wonderful!
Just a thought. What if your brother came up with some type of glamorous makeup/fashion illustration. From the print you showed, he is a fabulous artist.
I'm such a fan of yours Fleur, and that's why I was disappointed by the covers! I feel like they do not represent you nor your target audience.
I was thinking embossed rose gold title and a simple illustration just like the My Little Box illustration which is so sophisticated and chic, and much more glam!
I agree 100%
yes!!! I was so disappointed when I saw the covers, they look like they've been thrown together by teenagers doing a school project.
My thoughts exactly, I don't feel like Fleur's target audience is going to be reached with either of the choices. That would be such a shame as Fleur has put lots of hard work into her book!
I agree completely. I had just commented before seeing this. And in my head was thinking embossed title and classy illustration much like the one you mentioned.
Agreed!
The pink (left) one has better pictures. It's more about glam and hair and make up and looks more like a "glam guide" I'd say. You might think that because of the colour pink it looks childish but i don't think so. Pink is just a girly colour and it really would fit to a book all about glam stuff. So yeah I'd go for that one. As well the green reminds me a bit of a cooking book (don't know why)
And really love the brush at the bottom :) and your picture, u look gorgeous 😘
Sry, it's not really pink, is it? It's more of a purple colour. But still..my fave!
the pinkypurple cover is my favourite one! really looking forward to the release of it x
I respect that you said that YOU like both covers (which is the most important thing) but I personally think that you should remove the top photos on either choice. Best of luck!
I love the pictures you chose for both covers, however I must agree with the majority. I think they don't represent you well at all and they look like they are meant for a younger audience. I was immediately drawn to the picture of the shoes and the picture of your nails over your 3.1 Phillip Lim Mini Pashli. I think if you used those two pictures because of their similar color scheme and did a black cover with rose gold font, it would look amazing! I just want the best for you and I'm so excited for you, but I think you should rethink the covers since they don't represent you as well as they should! Love you so much Fleur!
I dont know how i JUST found you but your videos are so much fun! And you are so gorgeous ❤️
Not so sure about the covers either, would love a simple copper/silver style font, minimal white cover, more grown up. I was thinking a lovely coffee table book.
I agree with everyone elses comments, if I had to choose I'd say I prefer the one on the left, but I also think it would be lovely if the cover was a photo of you getting ready with your back turned to the mirror for example :) Something more simple and sophisticated :) These covers are still nice but I feel like something more mature and simple would better reflect yourself and would also appeal more to your main audience :)
I like the cover on the left the best, they are both beautiful though:)
I definitely was expecting the quality of the front cover to be a lot better than the two you showed us. Love the picture's on the left cover but neither are eye catching enough and definitely not you. Please put more of your classiness in there x
The box covers are gorgeous! However I prefer the pink one ... Still both so so lovely xx
If I *had* to choose between the two covers, I'd pick the green one. However, I agree with everyone who has said that these covers don't seem to match the sophisticated image you've managed to create through your channel and your blog. To be honest, they both look rather haphazard and amateur. I would've imagined something more along the lines of the My Little Box illustration, perhaps with rose gold font?
I really love your videos Fleur, but I feel disappointed with the covers. They don't really seem like your style, and they look more like Zoella's book, who you are so much better than! I thought that a cover with a dark pink background and The Glam Guide wrote in gold swirly writing would look so much better. Also with illustrations and not actual photos. Although I am a teenager, the cover makes it look like it's for a younger audience. A different cover would make it look more timeless and appealing for all ages in my opinion. And make it look more glam too! I'm only saying this because I am a big fan of yours and want your book to do really well!
Lo she's not better than soella
sophia noelle who's soella haha
I agreed right up to the point in which you decided to bring zoella into this. They have completely different styles and of course one is going to appeal to you more the way you worded it seemed to me a little rude an uncalled for.
You don't have to criticize other people to give advice. That was awfully rude and uncalled for.
rb ford I honestly wasn't meant to be rude, maybe I worded it wrong.
I think your publisher needs to give you more options... those two are almost exactly the same! and I agree with the other comments below that neither of those seem like you, they are very cluttered and busy looking.
That illustration is adorable! I wanna see a whole movie with these characters in it! so magicallll
I hate to be cruel and add another slightly negative voice to the cover scenario... But I just think that her publishers need to hear this message loud and clear. Those covers do not encapsulate Fleur's style at all. Too kitschy/slightly childish to work. If I didn't know that Fleur was an expert at interior design/style/makeup, I wouldn't buy it off of first impressions. It would be worth the extra work to acquire some customers who don't know her from TH-cam.
unfortunately I agree!
I agree.
I agree as well. These covers are too busy, and very slopped together. Something clean and classic -- we don't all need pictures on our covers! -- would be so much more appropriate!
I've never commented before but have been watching Fleur's videos for years. I totally, totally agree, I think her publishers/designers have really let her down with these. Given how hard Fleur has worked on her personal style, her brand and writing the book these do not seem to reflect her style at all - where is the glam in these covers? Please start again Fleur and don't let them push you into publishing with these!! xx
I am a graphic designer and I completly agree.... those covers look cheap and not profesional at all sorry Fleur! they need more glam jaja
I prefer the pink version...however i have to be honest, i don't like the compilation of pictures in the top of the cover (it looks a mess). You have such an incredible sophisticated/polished look and i think the book cover should represent that. XOXO
I think the cover needs to look a bit more sophisticated as that would reflect more of your personality. The colours are nice however the pictures just do not seem to compliment the overall look. The only thing I would say yes to are the stars.
Good luck with the book Fleur, I can't wait to get my very own copy. All the very best! xxx
What cute stuff you got! Can't eat for the book. My personal favorite cover was the purple!
