    Blade runner 2049. Doesn't try to surpass the original Blade runner. It builds on it. And that's great

      the scene where decker finds the CGI rachel , probably blown away harrison ford mind. like ..i wish there was a hidden camera in the theater or something to record his expression when he saw that specific scene .that many people didnt expected to see and also got impressed

    • @empathylantern
      @empathylantern ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It may be even deeper than just it's beautiful, I think the comparison he makes gives a good sense of scale too. There are so many shots in Blade Runner 2049 where it's an open vista and everything seems massive when you see K or his car by itself in the foreground. These wide shots actually project the sense of loneliness and isolation for K's character incredibly well now that I think of it. They aren't just spectacle for the sake of spectacle; they're telling a story.

    It seems like he's genuinely likes blade runner whenever he's talking about it and even gets into arguments with Ridley Scott over the meaning of the ending. I get the feeling that blade runner has a bit to do with why he doesn't feel much towards Star Wars.

    • @paulbrookfield4133

      Blade Runner isn't the role that gets him stopped in the street I'd wager, and he never liked Han Solo to begin with. Blade Runner was a hard film to shoot for him and he had no working relationship with Ridley Scott left by the end of it, so it must say something about his impression of the film(s) that he decided to come back for it again.

    To those complaining about the tone or emotion in the interview, take a moment to remember both men are of a different generation. One man speaks to capture the attention of those on ADD. The other doesn't really put himself in the limelight and when he does, he speaks to take his time and care for words, Grant him that space and you'll notice a mind at work.

    It absolutely was. I'm happy they did the original such respect, unlike practically every other sequel or reboot. I'm also happy that execs did not shoot down the length of the film or cut corners. It's occasionally good to get something that's big budget, immersive, stellar, and not cookie-cutter. Yeah the more I see it the more I love it. Epic movie, I can't believe it did so poorly in the box office. Just crazy to me how bad it did. A wonderful film. Thanks Harrison

      100% it was the best movie that year. And in many other years. It's so good in it's own genre that it leaves the realm of whether a person likes Sci-Fi or not, and it becomes a matter of "do you know good when you see it?"

    It's a good thing Ford is an actor for a living because, in person, he's a very strange man. I say that as a huge fan of his work but I found it difficult to watch this candid video. It was similar to listening to someone high out of their mind talk about a movie. Entertaining but very strange.

      Cliven Longsight was it Ridley's choice for the voiceover originally? I always figured it was the studio's desire to make the movie more straightforward and easy to follow for mainstream audiences since there isn't a voiceover featured in the final cut which I've heard is Ridley's most definitive version of the movie

    Harrison Ford is kind of odd character nowadays. There is a rasp and grumpiness coming out when he speaks. He aged not only physically but mentally too and I mean big time. He is still great no doubt about it I just simply prefer his younger self both on screen and as a public persona.
