    Brandon, I give you mad respect for showing the wins & losses because that’s obv how it really goes.
    Most vloggers just put up “Flop quads & get raised” or “I flopped 6 sets and get paid”.
    We all get sucked out on every session, we all go card dead for 8 hours etc. so most vloggers are playing slick with only showing the glory.
    It’s refreshing because you do appear transparent while being entertaining. I respect the fact you show both sides of the game.

      Bro, I hear ya, 100. I scream at ppl when the one or two guys are playing the nuts all day & ppl keep paying them off. They ain’t giving you action so why give any back. And once I see someone is capable of limping with JJ+ my radar is spot on.
      But sometimes even when you’re 1000% certain we’ve all looked up ppl mad light because we just have to see it. The hardest thing is getting the hands to listen to the brain. It is what it is & I’m sure he won’t give ppl like that action again because they don’t deserve it from Brandon. Anyway I’m off to AC, ready to get my game on. Vegas is so much better lmao… Love it

    QJo in sb feels like an overplay to check shove river. You’re rarely getting called by worse, just J9, J8 and evidently hands like J5 are in that players range, but they likely wouldn’t bet turn so strongly with those hands, only hands that beat you. The sizing was indicative of a value + protection bet. Weaker jacks would often check back the turn or bet smaller on the turn.

    • @nicholi2789
      @nicholi2789 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I was typing nearly the same thing. QJ is the worst jack that could show up on that river. As played after barreling all three streets J8 or J9 is so unlikely and that’s all you’re beating. KJ, AJ (offsuit variations maybe) J10, 44, 89, are all hands that would possibly limp and take that line. Against just a couple combos of jacks with worse kickers. I’m honestly probably folding that river after he blasted all three streets

    J6s I personally just bet about 75-80% pot, like $125 instead of an overbet because I don’t even mind a call if I’m in position. Overbet might be more GTO though but I am greedy and feel like a lot of players will call turn and fold to a big river bet with hands like A5, A8, 45, 78, etc.

    J6ss on the turn. I probably don't open this hand or follow my own advice but as played I like an overbet like 225. maybe make the same bet with 65ss which is more likely. max value max pressure even on Ax hands A8 A9 AT.

  • @Awre18
    @Awre18 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    feel like that QJo hand shouldnt be a jam, don't think you get value from worse especially vs the river sizing, like 80-90% pot is huge, seems like maybe jam AJ as lowest value hand?

    • @TheNow_Now
      @TheNow_Now 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah I agree. Villain also bet multiway, 3 times, which is rarely a bluff.
      A jam will folds out all J they beat, of J8/J9. I might even fold to the river bet, since you beat so little. And that multiway bet 3 streets line is just never a bluff

    • @BrandonSligh
      @BrandonSligh  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      with it being a limped pot that causes the issue. I did tank jam but yea rough spot. Honestly looking back at at, I would of folded to turn bet

    • @justindechenne4292
      @justindechenne4292 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Being a limped pot, I don't think even having a straight is a jam. Can't beat KJ, AJ, J4, J7, J10, 44, 77, 1010. With the limp you can discount 1010, AJ and KJ but at the same time that makes 44, 77, J7 and J10 off way more likely. Seeing in that J8 and J9 being the most likely to call that you beat and what value hands beat you being 67% to 33% it's never a jam

    Ive ben a fan of your vlogs since the first time I stumbled on your page I have a question, from 01/01/23 to 09/30/2023 Ive bought in for $30,615, total cash outs $31,700 for a profit of $1,085, 70 sessions 28 out of the 70 winning sessions at 1/3, how would u rate that? I watch all the vloggers, U, Mariano, Rampage, Brad Own, Lexo Poker just to name a few, i am TAG and LAG when I need to be depending on table dynamics, Im frustrated that my win rate is so low smh I love the game but im taking a break for the rest of 2023, the variance from the bad players is frustrating the hell out of me lbvs

    • @BrandonSligh
      @BrandonSligh  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      thanks appreciate the support!
      I would say playing at 1/3 you should be winning more than 50% of your sessions. 70 sessions is an okay sample (depending on hours played each one). If these sessions arent too long then yea sample can be small. Live variance can be extremely high. I am not 100% sure on this since I never played 1/3 though.
      Mainly, even though variance is a real thing, you also have to put in the work off the tables. Studying is key and we cannot blame variance for not improving in skill. Remember my death of my poker career video, where I admitted yea I have had some bad run outs BUT I am just not playing up to my own expectations. I study and improve frequently, and you have to do the same. There may be many spots you are missing (even I make mistakes) and they need to improve to increase your overall win rate.
      Also, have you ever played online at all? And you can respond here but also feel free to hit me up on twitter, IG, or Discord to discuss further.

    • @TheIambogart
      @TheIambogart 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BrandonSligh thanks for responding and for your input, those 70 sessions normally are fairly long at least 5 hours a session, the max being 22 hours, I do study away from the table, I watch so many vloggers, I watch crush live poker, red chip poker, upswing poker, alex torrelii, Nick Howard, Blackrain79 poker, Phil Galfond, many of the 1/3 players I play with ask me for advice, and ask me to review their hands because they respect how I play, the game is 1/3 $100 to $500 buyin, I will acknowledge that I normally buy in for either $100 or $200 which is bad because Im not capitalizing on my edge by buying in for the max and thats because of bad bankroll management smh which is why Im taking off these last 3 months to build my bankroll, and yes I play online, i play on Ignition, but I normally play tourneys with like $10 to $15 buyins, my cash rate is probably 35-40% with a few final tables and a couple of tourney wins, I respect your game and your knowledge that was the reason why I posed the question to u, again thanks for responding

    The shove with QJvsJ4 was the biggest mistake you made imo. I understand that line if it was a standard raise call call pre action because hands like J7 and J4 won't be much of a possibility for most players. In a 5 way limp pot with the big bet on the river, I think if you are going to raise just min raise and save yourself some money against the boats. If they shove on your reraise they always have you beat and if they dont you still get extra value. And after reading some comments I see im beating a dead horse SMH.

    I understand calling there but you also can’t raise, it’s just punting money. You lose to so many hands and are only getting called by better. So many combos of hands you lose to that might limp pre flop: KJo, AJo, J10o, 89o, 89s, pocket 4s, etc etc. The only hand you could hope to get called by is J8 or J9, and it’s unlikely those would barrel 3 streets. When you said you went in the tank for a moment deciding on whether to raise or not. When uncertain if that's the right play, I would of at least counted the value hands I lose to, compared to the ones I beat. There's 9 you lose to and two you beat. Yes maybe you can discount a couple of those hands considering the limp, but also you need to question if they'd even call with the two hands you beat. I suppose realistically there's 6 hands you can beat, being J2, J3, J5, J6, J8, and J9. Since they had J4 off, they could have any of those as well, but J8 and J9 the only ones you can beat that would call most likely. But if it's not even above a 50/50 meaning more hands you beat then you lose to, there's no decision on whether to raise or not. Seeing many of your other videos I would like to see less consideration of possible backdoor flush possibilities, I understand mentioning it for the vlog, but like the K9 vs K3hh hand, you missed value. I understand how terrible the one liner with the flush possibilities look at first glance, but taking in context of the over bet on the turn, it's hard to put someone on a gutsgot draw that doesn't include a flush draw. I find that most regulars turn backdoor flush draws into bluffs on the turn and what combos they would need to have in order to even see a second club on the turn that and the fact you are blocking pairs with having two pair that it narrows their holdings almost exclusively to flopped flush draws. I've noticed that you tend to shy away from thin value on the river which takes away massively from your bluffs as well. you're just a few tunes and qweaks away from consistently profiting. If you think I had anything of value In my critique of this tiny sample and would like to hear anything more about what I might do to become a better player, let me know. Btw I'm not trying to sell you anything or offer anything other than advice. Keep grinding boss

    21:21 - Horrible jam. You say there's worse Jacks that can call, but how many are in range there (other than J4o lol) and how many would call down a jam, esp when there's a straight on board too? Just seems like there's more hands of value that are better that will call vs worse hands that will call you there. You have about the worst Jx there that doesn't make a boat. Not likely for them to have J9 or J8. Even if they do, I think it's still too few combos of value calling vs beating you, plus like I said, they can still hero fold that there. Disagree with that jam, personally, but of course still always love the vlogs!

    And then you wonder why the shove on the river? Cmon. That is poker 101 at that level, it’s live poker.
    Btw, when you wonder why they are playing a certain way. Imho, it’s because you are being so aggressive. They should see you taking your line and let you do the heavy lifting.
