I agree, however i gave up on EVs as this is a an upper fixer at the moment and all other, like you say, are too ugly to bother. Too many features missing or buggy. I might get one when everything is settled. For now i am looking in to plug-in hybrids. The Enyaq is a good alternative EV but for some perverse reason they decided to delay the 4WD for almost a year... car companies these days are making all the wrongs choices..

Not sure how you can determine that from images, you would have to drive, feel and live with both to come to that conclusion. I know that the Volvo interior VP now works at Tesla.
It is, the quality is far superior than Tesla. But remember this is a start-up company and will have the same issues Tesla had when they started. From my experience they did not seem to copy that much from Volvo so there is a bunch of things that are missing or are faulty even on cars that have already been delivered...

I think it was not a good idea from the beginning to name the Polestar 2 a contender of the Tesla model 3. Polestar is playing in another league. If really needed then it is to be placed between M3 and MY. There are many others who will easily compete with the quality of the Teslas - BYD, Xpang, Ford , LUCID .... you cannot count them in next year. The autonomous driving will be a joke for a long time. Polestar is taking a serious and reliable position here.
I see the start price is 659 K in sweden and 469 K in norway. Maybe worth it for me as a norwegian as i need a car which is suited for the nordic climate.

Well, rear seat ceiling height isn't much to boast with. I can't sit fully upright there..! Looking much forward to the estate wagon cross-over version.
The sides of the central console looks too high and drivers appeared to have to raise the hands over the sides to reach the controls forward of the gear selector. Can the driver see the lower part of the central display screen in normal driving position? Great car 🚗

It's a case of can the P2 compete with a comparable vehicle which has similar price, space, safety, road holding and depreciation being sold by a performance brand - but lacking similar acceleration, it's not much quicker than my XC90 T8.

Piston Eater clearly the issue only affects german autobahns. Everywhere elese speed limit 100-120-130 make higher speeds not “legal”. But coming back to germany, 205 is within the reach of basic Golf tdi and ford cars, with 1/3 to 1/4 of the massive 400 horse power. Ps: to get an idea, look at Tesla model 3 specs. Its the direct competitor

I love Thi6 car my only issue is price Tesla model 3 is comming 39k..before tax credits I truly think polestar will be best evee this year unfortunately I can't afford it during pandemic I hope we will get one more affordable in 2021 or 2022 as a Volvo buyer I'll be waiting on it as I'm already sure production will be miles ahead of Tesla on quality..its very pretty car
I am seriously considering this as an alternative to Tesla. Videos like this and all the others from Polestar are good, but they are only part of what I am looking for. ALL of the information is directly from Polestar and NONE is from third party reviewers. On TH-cam there are literally hundreds of automotive journalists and knowledgeable TH-camrs testing the Teslas offering their opinions of what the car is like to use under everyday operating conditions. With Polestar there are none of these, that I can find, apart from a lap of their test track. There are no crash test results, no government range tests, no performance testing, no charge testing, no on-road videos showing the car in use. There are only numerous videos of the car sitting in a showroom with people talking about how good it is. I expect the car to be really good, but please get some actual production cars out there to be tested and reviewed. I look forward to seeing the results. Even though the cars are available to order now, here in Canada, I have no intention of ordering an $80,000+ car without a lot more independent information. A reviewer like Bjorn Nyland, who really knows EV's, would be most valuable. Thank you.

@@raymondsmith9936 The Polestar 2 price hasn't had the EV grant of £3000 applied. Tesla autonomous driving is years off from what I have seen on TH-cam. The Polestar also gets over the air updates, who's to say it won't get it in a year or so. Tesla's needs to be serviced every 2 years, whereas the Polestar has free servicing for 3 years. A Tesla was high on my list for my next car, but this one has got me thinking, especially when I see people complaining about their build quality.
@@Seemples Fair point regarding the grant, however still £6.5k more. Tesla's never require servicing, warrant does not require it. But looks like you will have to pay for unnecessary servicing from year 4 on the Polestar 2. The Polestar 2 does not have the necessary hardware for full self drive, so over the air updates won't make a difference. True, full self drive is a few years off, but once in place these cars will not depreciate like a conventional car as they will become a commodity as they can make money for their owner a bit like buying a house and renting it. All cars suffer from quality issues, the concern should be that they are addressed. The Polestar 2 is made in China, so I guess the quality has yet to be determined and there are no service centers for Polestar if there are issues. I hope Polestar do well, however, given the demand for the Model 3, it feels like the safer bet.

I pre-ordered one in the US but will likely cancel because the only way to get service or maintenance done is at a Polestar "space", of which there will only be 3 in the whole country at launch (New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles), none of which I live in. That's just a non-starter. Until they can utilize the Volvo service network there's no way I'm buying a car that can only be fixed in 3 cities in the whole country. They're promising more cities will come but definitely not gonna spend $65k on a promise. Was so excited for this car until I learned that. Can you imagine having to flatbed your car hundreds of miles away every time it needs something repaired? Especially on a first gen car, you know there will be issues. Tesla's been doing this for 8 years and they still haven't figured out their quality control issues. Do you think Polestar is gonna agree to come pick up my car at my house, leave me a loaner, and flatbed my Polestar 120 miles each way to a service space every time I call to complain about a random rattle, minor repair issue, or buggy infotainment? This car will be a servicing nightmare for US customers, and Polestar.

There is no limit. So far I have seen some articles announcing top speed of 205 km/h. It also depends on the size of the tyres.

@@raymondsmith9936 The Polestar 2 price hasn't had the EV grant of £3000 applied. Tesla autonomous driving is years off from what I have seen on TH-cam. The Polestar also gets over the air updates, who's to say it won't get it in a year or so. Tesla's needs to be serviced every 2 years, whereas the Polestar has free servicing for 3 years. A Tesla was high on my list for my next car, but this one has got me thinking, especially when I see people complaining about their build quality.
@@Seemples Fair point regarding the grant, however still £6.5k more. Tesla's never require servicing, warrant does not require it. But looks like you will have to pay for unnecessary servicing from year 4 on the Polestar 2. The Polestar 2 does not have the necessary hardware for full self drive, so over the air updates won't make a difference. True, full self drive is a few years off, but once in place these cars will not depreciate like a conventional car as they will become a commodity as they can make money for their owner a bit like buying a house and renting it. All cars suffer from quality issues, the concern should be that they are addressed. The Polestar 2 is made in China, so I guess the quality has yet to be determined and there are no service centers for Polestar if there are issues. I hope Polestar do well, however, given the demand for the Model 3, it feels like the safer bet.

I pre-ordered one in the US but will likely cancel because the only way to get service or maintenance done is at a Polestar "space", of which there will only be 3 in the whole country at launch (New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles), none of which I live in. That's just a non-starter. Until they can utilize the Volvo service network there's no way I'm buying a car that can only be fixed in 3 cities in the whole country. They're promising more cities will come but definitely not gonna spend $65k on a promise. Was so excited for this car until I learned that. Can you imagine having to flatbed your car hundreds of miles away every time it needs something repaired? Especially on a first gen car, you know there will be issues. Tesla's been doing this for 8 years and they still haven't figured out their quality control issues. Do you think Polestar is gonna agree to come pick up my car at my house, leave me a loaner, and flatbed my Polestar 120 miles each way to a service space every time I call to complain about a random rattle, minor repair issue, or buggy infotainment? This car will be a servicing nightmare for US customers, and Polestar.
Maintenance will be done in the Volvo dealer network. Polestar spaces are showrooms.
