Have you monsters ever considered that Shyguy is actually really handsome and just wears the mask to keep people from bothering him? Maybe Luigi was just shocked by his amazing cheekbones.
Quick correction, multicolored Yoshi's were there from the start. Each Yoshi also has special powers upon ingesting any koopa shells in game. Blue=Flight, Red=Breathing three fire balls, Yellow=Ground Stomp that kills most ground based enemies. Green Yoshi also had access to the same powers provided they ate a shell of the same color.
True story, Ellen was originally supposed to do this video but is still in a room somewhere going awwwww at Poochey, so Luke had to do it. It might be true..
Rocky Wrench is not related to Monty Mole; he's a koopa. Monty Mole first appeared in Super Mario World with a very similar attack (popping out of the ground, then running towards the player), which appearance you utterly failed to mention. Also, magikoopas are called Kameks in Japanese. So Kamek's first appearance was also, technically, Super Mario World.

It's a bit more involved than what Luke said. Kamek prophesized that the Mario Bros. were going to cause serious trouble for the Koopa Klan, so he made an attempt to keep them from being born (by snatching them from the stork). Obviously, he managed to screw up and only fetus-nap Luigi. It's slightly better explained in both the game Yoshi's Island and its manual. You can easily get them both on the SNES Mini.
Miyamoto's occasionally said that he sees the Mario characters as more actors than characters; like, Mario is more playing the role of Mario than having events in Mario's life. Which basically boils down to "he don't care much about the canon". Which is no reason why we can't, of course!
In the original Yoshi's Island, if you died in a lava pit while riding Poochy, Poochy would then look directly at the camera, and I SWEAR he looked like he was a evil and happy doggo about your death. *But he's still the cutest little possessed baddie ever, yes he is! Yes he is!*
The shy guy masks are based off of what was called the “Imaginia mask” which were imported from Italy and sold at Yume Kojo (aka Dream Machine) in 1987. The intention was that people were supposed to walk around Yume Kojo wearing them which is why the game Doki Doki Panic which was a promotional item from Yume Kojo has so many masks in the game. How is this not known?!

As far as Bowser Jr, in Mario Galaxy there's a bit where PEach is surprised by him calling her mama and reacts by saying "you're Bowser's son?" So she's not surprised at the idea of having given birth to a giant spikey turtle baby, she's confirming that he's Bowser's kid. I'm guessing all those "kidnappings" by Bowser weren't really kidnappings...
Shy Guy has always been my favorite character in the Mario/Yoshi games because he’s so relatable. I’m small and shy and unassuming too. But I also think Shy Guy is cute. :) I bet you ANYTHING though, Luigi would be more freaked out to see what’s behind my mask. >:)

But they didn't have wrenches, they looked like Monty Mole. The very first location in Super Mario World features monty mole that would pop out of a wall and chase you. Yoshi could eat them back then too.
One of the Yoshi games that scarred me as a child was the one where if one of the Yoshis lost all of its lives, it was taken away, crying, and locked in a tower.

I was under the impression that Rocky Wrench and Monty Mole were different beings, seeing as Rocky was gainfully employed on airships and Monty was little more than an angry meter-tall garden pest. 2. Super Mario World (aside from being the debut for Yoshi *and* Monty) also brought about the different Yoshi colors. You could easily find these variants in the oddly Yoshi-centric levels that made up Star Road, where their separate abilities were often useful in finishing the levels (moreso blue Yoshi than the others, though...).

Apparently you were unaware that Doki Doki Panic was being developed as a Mario sequel before the licensing deal went through, and they decided to rework it using the licensed mascots. But since that deal didn't apply in America, and no one in the US even knew who the characters were, they re-reworked it back into a Mario game for its international release. The myth that it wasn't originally intended to be a Mario game is false. Thus, the assertion that Shy Guy wasn't meant to be a Mario character is also false.

You can take off Shyguy's mask in the first Luigi's Mansion, I don't know if it makes a difference that it's a ghost shyguy.
Those were created by the ghost artist Van Gore, so that's more just his artistic interpretation. So I guess it's still a history

Different colored Yoshis have been around since Yoshi's inception. Blue, Red, and Yellow. Heck, the end of Super Mario World even shows all the different colored Yoshis together.

Poor Luigi. The lanky, comedy relief, pallet swapped brother. He is forever doomed to fear, death, and general obscurity, unless he is vacuuming ghosts or sniping rabbids. Edit: If Mario is in fact millions of years old, does that make him Superman Prime? That would definitely explain the feather pick-up for the cape in Super Mario World.

Apparently you were unaware that Doki Doki Panic was being developed as a Mario sequel before the licensing deal went through, and they decided to rework it using the licensed mascots. But since that deal didn't apply in America, and no one in the US even knew who the characters were, they re-reworked it back into a Mario game for its international release. The myth that it wasn't originally intended to be a Mario game is false. Thus, the assertion that Shy Guy wasn't meant to be a Mario character is also false.
