And thats a wrap on Season 1! Nice to end on a happy note 😅 There will be a week break before we start uploading Season 2 reactions. You can catch the first 5 episodes over on Patreon! www.patreon.com/carlie_and_ange
Ignore anyone talking about an after credits scene. It’s only in season one in the directors cut and it’s the first scene of season 2 so you will see it then anyway
Well the whole point of this scene is being at the end of the 1st season. Sure it helps to start off the 2nd season, but the punchline is not that powerful
I do agree that the directors cut did it properly. This show is the cliff hanger king so it makes sense to have that little pop at the end of season 1. Plus it builds the anticipation for season 2 which is why they released the directors cut once season 2 was announced
Tiny detail that I love: when the bombs explode, Patrasche curls around Subaru to protect him. Everyone always talks about Rem and Emilia, but we all know Patrasche is the best girl.
4:24 Otto: "I feel a wind hitting me." Because the ground dragons (all of them, I guess) have a blessing to suppress wind turbulence, you shouldn't be feeling the wind in your face in a dragon cart. If Otto is feeling the wind, they must be *hauling ass.* all times I watched Re:Zero and reactions - I never noticed until this time! 8:20 Don't miss GOAT Patrasche coiling around Subaru to give him some protection from the fireball. 14:32 "We didn't see Rem in the finale..." 😱😱😱😱 ---------- That's season one. Or, as Re:Zero fans say, the *easy* part.
the dragons blessing against wind while traveling has a cooldown. When the dragon stops there's a period of time before it starts working again. They didn't have time to wait for it to reactivate before hauling ass
It also has extra meaning, now that we know... (S2 spoiler) that the gospel is a knock-off version of Tome of knowledge, which predicts the future, or rather (my theory) it shows a path towards the users goal, which is pretty much unavoidable Fate unless Subaru puts in his all to overturn the fate, Roswaal had a stronger version, since it also showed him Subaru looping so he could acount for it.
Discussion Carlie 😳 About ova info: Frozen bond is back story about Emilia & how she was treated along with Puck=father & the contract Memory snow is what happens before they leave for capital & after the dogs, it gives context about hatsumaki/magic overflow and gate+od magical system. Also tells how Puck fought roswaal when he came to get Emilia. And Subaru's love for mayo & showing how much rem loves Subaru. And we get rap god Emilia.
You guys were wondering why Wilhelm could fight so well without seeing the Unseen Hands - he used things like water and dust clouds to reveal the locations/shapes of the unseen hands to figure out where they are! I love that you guys theory craft it so much while watching like I did and appreciate so much about it, makes your reaction vids superior :)
There was a few years in-between seasons 1 and 2 and same between seasons 2 and 3. They barely confirmed season 3. Subaru essentially wrote "you're finished" in the book. Kinda like a dig at the idea that he has to do whatever is written in the book.
The reason the fight between Julius & Petelgeuse took longer was because Wilhelm is much stronger than Julius. Wilhelm is a warrior of historic proportions.
Well, Wilhelm also did a surprise attack on Petelgeuse and didn't care about chivalry. I guess Julius being as knightly as he is prefers meeting his opponents head on.
@icecreamcake5381 I don't think it matters too much because Wilheim disposes of Betelgeuse's body doubles just as swiftly and the power doesn't seem much different. Edits: woops wrong @
@@Emanon616 I know, I'm just saying it's another probable reason for the longer fight. Julius is certainly not on Wilhelm's level, but I'm pretty sure he can also kill an unguarded Petelgeuse from behind with one slash.
Imagine Waiting for four years for season 2. I watched this back when it came out in 2016. It was everywhere on the internet at that time. You couldn't escape it.
btw season 1 and 2 covers the first 15 volumes of the light novel and there are currently 36 of the main story out right now. He is currently a bit over halfway therough what he has planned so I am expecting him to be finished around 70 volumes which means that there are going to be a ton more seasons
First of all, I don't understand English, so I'm sorry if my English is a little weird. I love both of your reactions. Subaru finally defeats Petelgeuse and says to Emilia that he loves her, and it seems that Subaru's heart has reached Emilia. But apparently you didn't look at the "new edited version". RE:ZERO Season 1 has two versions: the regular version and the "new edited version". There are some differences between the regular version and the new edited version. In particular, there is a decisive difference towards the end. I think you'll be surprised when you watch the first episode of Season 2. By the way, did you notice that the voice actor for Petelgeuse is the same as Inosuke from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba? He is a very talented person. RE:ZERO recommends watching "The Frozen Bond" before watching Season 2. This is because it is a story related to Season 2.
As for Petelgeuse being slothful! I mean he's slothful in different ways, he never moved on from Satella in the end and lives his life following a gospel plus he's a spirit using dozens of cultists' bodies for himself, this is all stuff Subaru knows and could call him out on. There's more to him than that but his attitude to Satella is definitely what Subaru focused on, while also feeling sorry that he was apparently ruining other peoples' bodies not his own with his whole self harm thing.
Almost dropped it mid season one from cringe, glad i didn't. One of my favorite things about this anime is how Subaru went through that unbearable arc but grows out of it and is actually a likable character after he changes himself.
@@ComradeArthur I don't understand why. This is one of the rare moments where the main character is actually a real, flawed dude, not some overpowered, ultraconfident and successful shonen dude. It was the episode which made me fall in love with the anime
@@tomclanys I assume because its genuine, unadulterated cringe thats completely realistic in a way that you can COMPREHEND, unlike typical ''anime cringe'' where you can sorta distance yourself from it. Everyone who watched E13 takes it so harshly because they see themselves or their past selves in Subaru. It's rare to see anime characters with flaws this real and grounded, although I also enjoy those whose flaws are esoteric (Shirou Emiya) or childish (Yuji Itadori)

As someone who watched the director's cut, im hella glad i watched it when the entire 2nd season was already out 😅 couldn't imagine having been cliffhanged by that right as the 1st season ended
@@PyxytyAt least they only aired the Director's cut right before S2 started. If they had fully adapted volume 9 of the novels, S1 would have included the content of S2 E1. I can't possibly imagine waiting for 4 years after that 😅
really love to watch you to react to the first season ! did carlie give angelo the lap pillow after this episode ?? xD good ending would you say , and season 2 will be great ' and ah the rem arc '
I'm so bummed about them not watching the director's cut, since the cliffhanger eas the perfect way to end this season. Everything's bright and positive and then boom, dragged back to the sufferings of this world. Plus the way Subaru gasps and then all sound ends is the exsct same reaction most people would have.
Definitely ignore complaints about the director's cut. The director's cut obviously had a good opportunity to create interest in season 2 since it was 2 years later when I assume the next season was confirmed... But it's not SUPPOSED to be this well placed cliffhanger. It's literally in the middle of volume 9, most re zero cliffhangers to base it being a series defined by cliffhangers and shocks like that occur somewhere in the novel that leaves that feeling as well, volume 9 wasn't really going for that tone if you ask me since the entirety of season 2 episode 1 takes up the next chunk. It leaves feeling sad but determined, not so much shocking. The reason for ending before the director's cut scene is to feel a happy ending, the reason to leave after the added scene is to look forward to season 2 but as far as story goes it makes far more sense to just watch all of season 2 episode 1 immediately after plus probably read the cut Natsuki Rem chapter(which is beautiful without reading any of the Rem if full novel) than to just watch enough to lose the happy ending alone.
they added it a year before season 2 came out, the animation style was already different so they obviously did it later. it would have been like 6 month before season 2 but it was delayed half a year due to covid. but yea the comments about the directors cut are so pointless, i saw other reactors react to it and then see it again when season 2 starts. basically pointlessly making them watch it because they cant wait for the next episode. it was different for US waiting for season 2, because it was a little easter egg to keep us waiting. it was only left out because season 2 was green lit yet and they wanted a happy ending for now.
