You could be my twin. I have had these panic attacks forever. I carry ammonia tabs. Just in case I feel like I will faint. I’m a pastor and i get up in front of people every week. I am also an adjunct prof. Again in front of people. Driving can trigger panic attacks. Why? Don’t know. The PA seems to cluster. I go for years and nothing and then wham! I’m with you!
It is such a comforting feeling when people share that they have a similar experience with anxiety because it makes me feel less alone. Thank you so much for sharing, I am so grateful! I am now starting to feel like I am coping a bit better with it so that feels hopeful. I find forcing myself to do the things that make me anxious helps me realize that I am safe and that the worry and fear I feel is just anxiety. We are in this together! ❤️
Oh my goodness, I’m 52 and all the sudden in the last couple years I get anxious about driving, I just hate driving and I constantly fear getting into a car crash. I also worry a lot more just in general, worry about things that haven’t happened if that makes sense. I did your breathing exercise while watching your video and I plan to keep doing this. I may also get the book you recommended. Thank you so much!
Honestly in my experience anxiety is always sudden and comes out of nowhere. Driving anxiety is new for me too and I find that I get so worked up even before getting in the car. Even before my work day ends I start to get nervous that I have to get in the car and drive. But I know that with anxiety doing the things that make me anxious is the only way to make them less scary. We can’t let anxiety win and take over our lives. Another thing I want to mention, anxiety is very future focused, as people with anxiety we are always worried about things that haven’t happened yet, we worry about what might happen in the future. That’s why a lot of the mindful exercises are focused on bringing our focus to the present moment. Sometimes I have a hard time doing the exercises but I just keep doing them and keep pushing and eventually I start to see progress. I am so glad you liked the breathing exercise, the one thing I forgot to mention in the video is not to rush through it. Keep the breathing nice and slow even the exhale. I really love that exercise it has helped me a lot. Let me know what you think of the book if you get it. I would recommend reading one chapter, practice the exercises and then a few day letter read the next chapter. I think that way you have time to digest the information and practice the exercises. Also, I linked his TH-cam channel in my video description, he has really helpful videos on there. Lastly, (I know I wrote a novel here but when it comes to anxiety I have a lot to say 🤓) thank you so much for sharing your experience with anxiety, you are not alone! We got this and it will get better! ❤️
@@thecristinamaria thank you so much! You are such a sweet person, I really appreciate your advice. I know what you mean by living in the moment too. I notice for example if I focus on little things that I enjoy, say like doing my skincare or makeup that also calms me. Anyway, this is great you put out content on this and I’m sure a lot of people will find it very helpful as well 🥰
If your not on any prescribed medications, have you tried magnesium?, it's the anti-stress mineral, I swear by the stuff. If your only getting magnesium through a multivitamin then it's likely the strength is low and of poor quality (Low absorption rate). There are many types of magnesium and you can take different forms for different uses. Magnesium bi-glycinate is best for sleep, calm and relaxation, I take this form at night or I'm yawning in the day lol. Citrate magnesium can be a good all rounder. I take this form in the morning as it doesn't make me sleepy and generally improves my mood. Then when I get closer to my period I take more magnesium as the demand for it is even greater in the body at this time. Oh and if you ever crave chocolate this is your bodies way of signalling to you it needs more magnesium. Don't take my word for it tho, but it's definitely worth researching into. On a side note I like to listen to classical music for background noise if I'm doing a task and I don't want silence, I find the music somehow relaxes me and doesn't trigger my flight or fight response like some current music does, I'm guessing part of the reason is there are no words being said that can trigger off stressful emotions.
I don’t think it’s that, but thank you for the suggestion, I do appreciate it 😊. I have gone to various doctors about this over the years and done many tests (anxiety made me worry a lot about all these possible health issues) but in the end they all concluded that my health was good and that it was anxiety.

Thank you so much you are so kind to say that. I will keep making videos related to anxiety as I learn any new coping techniques that are helpful. ❤️
I like your videos. They’re kind of a throwback to how TH-cam was back in the days. Nice voice too.
Thank you again, I really appreciate that, it really means a lot! 😊
Ughhh yess! More of your relatable content ❤
Oh wow thank you so much!!! That really means a lot. I am so happy you are enjoying the video. ❤️
❤ Thank you. 😊 So many great ways to help elevate some of the anxiety.
I will definitely share more if I learn new ways of coping with anxiety and also will keep sharing any books that I read that are helpful.

You should test for MTHFR mutations 😌
Honestly I dont think thats the case at all😅

@@Sabrina07197The MTHFR gene mutation can increase the probability of suffering anxiety disorder, depression and other mental health conditions 😉
