    The interior former Kroger is seriously stunning!

      It is! It’s extremely rare you’ll find a Kroger from the 70s.

    That is 70s design Kroger. It is amazing how owners let these buildings just sit and rot.

      I just filmed it a week ago. All the buildings are even more moldy. The Dollar General have a lot of green on the floor from the water.

    This is where my family shopped from the early to the mid 1960's. There was a Kroger's, a paint store, W. T. Grant Company, Woolworth's, drug store, a second off name grocery store that I think was called Lawson's, barber shop, and a Farmer's & Merchant's Bank. I opened my first savings account with some $8 in pennies at that F&M Bank-LOL! Always got my hair cut at the barber shop. In the Barber shop they had pictures on the walls of Air Force planes. I can remember a KC-135 Tanker. Lots of great memories, growing-up in Fairborn...

    It's sad how I remember growing up in this town it was booming with businesses and people back in the 80s. I used to work at that Kroger back in the early 90s. Everything and everyone is gone 😥

    That looked like signs of mold at the abandoned Dollar General after a heavy rainfall.

    The lettering on the inside of Kroger was late 70's, early 80's. Depending on when it was built, it could've been a 70's "superstore" that was updated with the next generation style decor & lettering. The numerous "greenhouse" Kroger locations in WV from 1980-1985ish, had this style inside lettering.

      Do you know if there’s still any Kroger left with the late 70’s look that is still open?

    • @bryanmorgan4929
      @bryanmorgan4929 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hmmmmm... No, there are none of the 70's style Kroger locations left in my immediate area. But, there are several of the 80's "greenhouse" style Kroger locations. Some of these locations have been remodeled or modified in some way. Some remain about the same, on the outside, at least. And, some of the late 80's or early 90's locations exist, too.

      There’s a greenhouse Kroger in Springfield, Ohio and it’s still open.

    A five year old video I've just found. I used to live in Fairborn Ohio in the late 70's and early 80s. I went to that Kmart and that Kroger many times. There used to be an arcade in the Kmart. I'm not saying I am old, but I used to buy flashbulbs and 45 RPM vinyl records at that Kmart.

    Recuerdo haber estado en Fairborn viviendo en 1986 y 1987, con mi hermana y mi padre. Somos de España y estuvimos estudiando allí. Me dí muchos paseos por KMart, Kroger, y las otras tiendas, para comprar y también cuando no tenía nada que hacer , pero ya no queda nada, ni siquiera el local de la farmacia anexo al Kroger. Y el banco que hay justo enfrente, mi banco, ya no es el BankOne. Desde Madrid expresar mi tristeza. Gracias por el vídeo, amigo: si sigues andando por ese camino, llegarás a mi casa, que gracias al Google Maps veo que sigue igual ;-)

    The first store front was not the old dollar general. It was once the rent a center. Dollar general is on down

    That 1st place wasnt a dollar store it was a furniture store then a cvs next door then the dollar store moved into cvs when they built there new building outfront. Krogers was next to dollar store then kmart at the end... For many many years it sat with only the dollar store and kmart running then when kmart left dollar store stayed about 4 more years before they got a new store around the corner

    I was there like last week. Even if I could've got in I don't think I would. That place is so nasty. I didn't know it was a Kroger but when I was by the doors of it there was an opened package of hot dogs laying on the ground. The Kmart is in the best condition out of all of them but it will probably end up getting as bad as the others if not taken care of.

    • @slackingpacking
