- Our shop Si has been running RV6's R365 Ball Bearing Turbo (available on our site!) for a while now, and now we're onto testing the 27WON Performance GIN Turbocharger to see how well it compares to OEM & RV6. We are happy with the numbers it gave us, and definitely recommend this upgrade for those looking for OE fitment with the power it deserved from factory.

Hard to find 11th gen TH-cam videos good video
Did not expect this car to handle that much HP and Torque after seeing another vid with the engine blowing up
That motor can handle 400 horse power and don't let that 1.5 L small motor make you think otherwise cuz my civic Si 10 gen has 400 horse power BOOM💥
@@Javiwho1bro how? What can I do to prevent my engine from blowing up before I start to do upgrades? Im completely stock 72k miles.
@@DaveSmith-ij3gj make sure that you bring it to a good mechanic for a inspection especially you're head gasket cuz you don't really know if the previous owner took care of motor and put a set of titanium screws on your head and do upgrades one at a time that way you know how your motor reacts to every upgrade before driving it make sure the car warms up and wait at least 30 seconds before you shut it down that keeps your turbo in good working conditions don't use unbranded parts and read all the comments from previous purchaser's before you get a part for you car good luck on your built👌🏼
Get acquainted with your car bro and just keep an eye on try to get info on the previous owner make sure that they always had oil changes good luck bro Honda are good cars you be okay 👌🏼
@@Javiwho1buddy the 11th gen motor is weaker than the 10th gen. And even the 10th gen is not handling 400 hp for long before it blows
Wow I was not expecting 340whp. That thing must be a wheel spinning riot on the street.
It's a lot of fun for sure. :)
@@TwoStepPerformancebut is it reliable fun?
@@TwoStepPerformanceis this 340 wheel on an unopened motor
Aside from the head stud upgrade, yes that is correct.@@xTearzy
@@TwoStepPerformance damnn that’s insane. Could I get the parts list 👀
i had not a clue, these si motors were putting out these numbers...and here i am in my 2.0t accord lol. 6mt of course :)
At this power level, that engine is not long for this world. It carries the same L15B7 with the exception of having vtec on the exhaust side now. There's some coverage on how these engines just throw/bend rods
The 2.0T has a lot of potential! Check out Wes' 2.0T: www.twostepperformance.com/blogs/tsps-builds/cv2
@@1benykoThe L15BA has rod issues not the 7
@@dominicg2456someone already shot a rod through the bottom end on the track lmao
Subscribed because she's hilarious. 😂
This is just about the amount of horsepower i want for mine🔥🔥
love the video! just got my fe1 back in december and im in love with it! only thing i would say sometimes the talking is quiet with regards to the music volume other than that great vid!
Thank you for your support and feedback!
Great works and great video!!!🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Thanks for your support!
I need someone to post a video this turbo in action on the road😭 is it reliable? I want to put this in my integra 6mt
Coming real soon!
Wow, that’s awesome to see 27WON turbo at 340whp and 304 torque with K tuner. Why RV6 to 27 WON turbo? Just curious.
I am sure she did a great job and keep it up. Nice Si!
Ultimately for testing purposes. Both are fantastic turbos and should be chosen based off your intended driving application.
That’s perfect 👍🏿 I’ll take to the Bank 🙌🏿
We appreciate the support!
A woman that works on and loves cars...
Awesome
This and the studs are next for me! Two Step has great products and support for anyone with a L15 Civic!
ARP studs? Stock internals? Very nice, I want this turbo, but I don’t want to void my extended warranty! 😂
Yes TSP Head Stud Kit (by ARP) and factory internals. :D
FBO + Turbo + E30 then?
FBO + Gin + E25 blend (93 octane).
That first run was on 93? Definitely great numbers!
The first run was the R365 RED on E30; the second was the GIN BB on E25. Both turbos did not reach their full potential as we were limited by fuel. If we add that upgrade without internals, a rod (or two) may self clearance.
what other upgrades are you backing this up with. Clearly flex fuel kit I presume. Been following here and there, is there a list I can browse!

@@TwoStepPerformance so the main thing to reliably do such a high output on the L15 seems to be head studs?
So that works for a spec teggy too?
Yes 😁
Any issues after your turbo was installed? I just installed mines and I’m afraid to push it too much because I don’t want to blow the motor
We've run a big turbo for over a year at this point with the shop Si. No issues!
Doing this on a 2024 touring will it work.
Yes, but you will need a custom tune.
Holy crap. Type r range!
That Si is mooooovin.
Nice!!....what turbo inlet pipe you guys thinking about running? Definitely need to snag that titanium stud kit
Waiting on PRL or 27WON to come out with one to test out! Our burnt Ti is coming soon!
@@TwoStepPerformance PRL Has theirs for about 500
@@andrewcardenas2116 PRL has not released the inlet pipe for the 2022+ Civic 1.5T at this time.
is there a comparable difference between this and the turbo upgrade from PRL?
PRL has not released a turbo for the 2022+ Civic/Integra 1.5T at this time. She did recently swap it from the RV6 R365 RED, which had more of a punch on the top end in comparison to the low-mid range on the GIN.
any must do's u recommend when upgrading from a completely stock 11th gen si/turbo to the 27won turbo?
just got my 22 civic si (actually exact same color as her's lol) and first thing id lik to do to it is power upgrades, but if there's other things needed to be done along with that id lik to know ahead of time please and thank u.
Your biggest must have is going to be a clutch upgrade. Don't forget KTuner and a custom tune as well!
thank you, and does it have to be k tuner?@@TwoStepPerformance
@@King_Rematch KTuner is not technically the only option but it is the only one we can endorse for the 11th gen platform due to issues we have encountered with other products.
gotchu, thank u again for the info. im just looking for something that doesnt add a gauge/screen to the cockpit of the car want something that keeps the stock look with the added benefit of power u kno. @@TwoStepPerformance
Do you have the tune available for the turbo?
Not at this time, but stay tuned!
@@TwoStepPerformance Ha Ha, stay tuned.
What exhaust you have?
At the time, it was the DC Sports exhaust. Now we have fallen in love with the Thermal R&D exhaust - you should take a listen!
th-cam.com/video/eAVRDq3XaHA/w-d-xo.html
So what aftermarket parts are they running specifically? Thought it’d be in the description 😭

Stock internals?
Yes.
What roof spoiler is that? I mistakenly bought one from Ninte. Their customer service is terrible. It was delivered and I was excited to put it on and it’s about an inch too narrow, leaving huge gaps on either side of it. Yours looks flush and excellent. Any advice would be wonderful! Love the build! Thanks!
OLM 🔥
Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t the 300-350whp the danger zone for this motor? If so, what internals would be at a high risk of failure at those power levels?
I have a close relative of mine planning to upgrade the turbo on his 11th gen and would like some knowledge.
Rods, 280lb of tq is usually when it starts getting risky. 300 is definitely in the risky territory but not too bad.
We do not have any concerns here but I would say that any significant steps beyond this put you into somewhat risky territory.
Any tutorial vid on how to put the titanium studs from turbo to downpipe on ?
Coming soon!
This is stock internals?
Yep! Just TSP Head Studs.
What other mods are done to the car besides head stud kit, turbo? I'm just curious, I would like to buy this exact turbo.
Great question! Here is her build page: www.twostepperformance.com/blogs/tsps-builds/fe1
Why change the rv6 for 27won is better?
One turbo is not necessarily better than the other. It depends on your intended driving application. We like how the Gin spools faster, and it makes it more fun on the streets.
What exhaust?
DC Sports
www.twostepperformance.com/products/dc-sports-exhaust-system-for-22-honda-civic-si
Wow, great vid. What are those rims? and do fit the stock tire ?
they look like konig tandems in white.
Konig Hexaforms. Stock tire should fit, but you may want to upgrade tires as the Goodyears aren't that great.
How many Codes fo you have is your dash like a christmas tree? And have you blown the engine or melted the cluctch yet?
This is normal behavior when on the dyno. Engine and clutch are fine.
❤❤, could you post some driving clips ?
We will definitely work on this!
very interesting. gold wheels would solve the dirty wheel problem. 🤔 .... As far as the "warrnaty" goes, once you start diving into the car and putting dress up bolts on, the warranty doesn't matter because you are probably the kind of person that can identify a/the problem early and you have connections to help out even if the most catastrophic thing happens. Plus, failed parts are the best excuses for upgrades anyway.
I like the way you think. -Sav
I don’t have the si I have the sport but would I be able too do this also?
If your Sport is the 2.0L NA (K20C2), then no, you will not be able to do this.
Small turbo ma performance had a bigger precision on 10 gens. Interesting
The 27WON Gin is super efficient!
What mods does it take for the L15 to hold up to these power levels?
An upgraded clutch is key. Upgrading to head studs from the factory head bolts is cheap insurance in our opinion.
@@TwoStepPerformanceDid you guys upgrade the piston rods? I heard those things were very weak and unable to handle high HP
@@drewpeacock3798 We did not. The factory rods are perfectly fine at this power level. We believe that we are within the margin of safety for this engine. Ballpark 350whp with a solid tune is safe. Would I add another 100whp, or let just anyone tune something like this? No, I would not.
How much more Horsepower does this add?
Quite a bit! Check out our blog post:
www.twostepperformance.com/blogs/tsp-product-info/r365-vs-gin-an-overview
What are the wheel specs?
27WON compressor wheel inducer = 47mm
27WON compressor wheel exducer = 58mm
27WON turbine wheel inducer = 46.5mm
27WON turbine wheel exducer = 41mm
Will this work on a 2023 civic hatchback sport touring? Also would i get increased HP?
Yes, this will work with your Sport Touring and increase power with a custom tune.
Why wouldn't it? Its the same car same engine
Great vid. Is that the stock valve cover?
It is not! She's rocking our Cerakoted Valve Cover for the 1.5T: www.twostepperformance.com/products/tsp-valve-covers-for-2022-honda-civic-1-5t
Good luck with stock engine durability
Well over a year later, and our L15CA is still being super good to us! It's daily driven and pushed quite frequently.
is it possible to install turbo onto 2023 civic lx?
No, this turbo is not compatible with the 2.0L NA motor.
Thats cool, I'd just be worried my rods were about to bend all the time. Definitely want to be real careful with the boost map down low since you're playing with fire at that 300 ft lb region.
Still running strong a year later! :D
