I believe Michael Jackson would be proud & so happy with this rendition of his music......I love how Pentatonix always respect the original artist, yet have the ability, to inject a little Pentatonix, without taking away any of the intended message in the song!!! 💖💖💖 RIP Micheal Jackson, we all miss you 💖💖💖 Great Reaction!
Short version of their history: Scott, Kirstin, and Mitch grew up together in musical theater and choirs. They met each other, two by two, between the ages of 8 and 14 and dated each other, two by two, between the ages of 14 and 18. After graduating, Scott and Kirstin went off to two different universities. Mitch stayed to finish his last year of high school. Scott got into a cappella in college. He wanted to go on the Sing Off, which is like American Idol but only for a cappella. He recruited Mitch and Kirstin. Ben Bram, a guy Scott met at college, recruited Avi. They found Kevin on TH-cam. Timing was a bit of an issue. Mitch stayed to finish high school but missed his high school graduation ceremony to go to the Sing Off audition. Kevin stayed to finish his senior exams at Yale. Kevin didn't meet the rest of them until the day before the audition for the Sing Off. They won the Sing Off which gave them a recording contract and $200,000 and they all moved to Los Angeles. Sony records dropped them 2 weeks later. They decided to do it themselves and kept posting TH-cam videos until people paid attention and they got another recording contract. Avi left for personal records and Matt replaced him as the bass. That has been the only change in the lineup. Mitch and Kirstin can look different from video to video but they are always there. Three Grammy awards, multi-platinum albums, 5 billion views of TH-cam, live concerts in at least two dozen different countries and here we are.
@@ABtheKreator Did I mention that Kevin was pre-med at Yale and speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese. Here he is in China. I have no idea what he is saying but the audience is impressed. th-cam.com/video/1QIk5Xe0B-w/w-d-xo.html
Also worth noting they are the very first a capella group to win a Grammy. The first they won was recorded in a closet and filmed in a kitchen with a budget of about $400 The second was for an all instrumental piece
I went to school with Michael the last partial semester he attended public school. He's a legend but it breaks my heart that he didn't truly have a childhood.
I don't think I've ever seen anyone enjoy this medley as much as you did! I've been enjoying all your PTX reactions, and I'm looking forward to working back to Home Free.
The tickets for their Christmas Tour are on sale now. They came together for the Sing-Off Season 3 in 2011 (?). If you check out their first performance they tell their history. They actually came together 2 days before the audition. It’s fun watching them move from a bunch of incredibly talent people to a tight and polished group.
There will only ever be one MJ! Legendary performer and this is the ultimate tribute from the best in the game. I thoroughly enjoyed watching your reaction. Also at as much as you seem to have enjoyed filming it. Thanks for posting!
Hi again AB I'm back again I love MJ & PTX and seeing you so happy you ask for any suggestions I think you would like Prayers For the World and this world really needs that right now!!! Thanks for all you do I adore you✌❣🫶
What a great & honest reaction! I love when reactors get moved by the music to the point they dance & sing along. That's what music was created for after all!! Well done sir!
Lol you ain't missed! again GREAT reaction!!! all their evolution videos are great as well as what i think is their best Medley, The 90's Dance Medley. 5 people should not be able to do what they do in that video....but they do...
Loved your reaction and your lip syncing. It made me laugh so thank you. You might want to watch the BEGINNERS GUIDE TO PENTATONIX and yes, the documentary is on you tube part 1 and part 2. So glad you are enjoying PTX so much so keep the reactions coming💕
They have also done medleys of other big artists like Beyoncé, Rihanna, *NSYNC, etc. I think you would jump out of your chair reacting to their cover of Imaginr by John Lennon. Love your reactions!!
I'm not sure if you've reacted to these yet or not but - Can You Feel The Love Tonight, Imagine, Bohemian Rhapsody, 12 Days of Christmas, 90s Medley etc etc
Speaking of Kelly Clarkson so was the first American idol and she has some major vocals. You need to check her out too she has a country song with Jason Aldean don't you want to stay. Her range is crazy
I hadn’t heard the original and it didn’t matter one bit!!! It is exceptional! However, I did listen to the original after, and realized just how kick a$$ it was that Mitch killed it the way he did!
You certainly know your Michael Jackson. 😁 Recommend their Rather Be, Say Something, Come Along, Shallow, Love Me When I Don’t, and Seasons Of Love (televised version).
I had to post your reaction to my Facebook page! You off the chain hilarious! Barbara Campbell should be the pinned comment and in your first T-shirt! I’m going to miss the laundry mat vibe, though! 👀🤪😂
I love the arrangement but I prefer MJ’s vocals on the lead. He was so aggressively in the groove while being emotive. I love the bass and always wondered what the Jacksons would have sounded like with a true bass
Hi. They are amazing. I think you should watch the beginners guide to Pentatonix on you tube. It’s brief and will catch you up on The Who, where from etc.
Another video to watch is PTX for beginners th-cam.com/video/lDxIfwfCmQE/w-d-xo.html It’s a great history lesson, but there are some song and video spoilers in it 😉
Carole from Ottawa Canada again...MJ was great but not the GOAT> Many dance moves, especially when he danced on the toes of his shoes.........all came from Elvis. .. Do not want to burst your bubble.. but this is the truth. If you ever watch Elvis in the mid to late 50's You will see my dear friend, that Elvis started those moves that MJ emulated....especially if you watch "Jailhouse Rock" Just sayin'....ELVIS is the GOAT and always will be. Plus he had the greatest voice of all time. He could reach over 5 octaves with his grand voice. MJ was more Falsetto...Just sayin'...
We def wanna reaction for Kiiara cover "Gold"...sooooo good!!!
Oh ok let me add that now
Oh yeah, +1 for "Gold."
I agree! 👍 And I don't even like Kara's original - At All.

this gives you good appreciation to how FIRE MJ's music collection is!!
What's amazing to me is that they did this live and filmed it as one shot (might have had to do a few takes, but still...)!!
