Next time you are in Renton if weather permitting Jimmy Hendrix’s grave is Greenwood memorial park. When I was living and working around the Seattle area the Forman of the landscaping company would always have us take our lunch breaks their with jimmy. They’ve improved his memorial since when I was living there.

I grew up in Renton/Kent, and I agree that it’s a great place to live! It gets a bad rap, but I had a great experience with the local public schools. The downtown has grown so much, it’s fantastic to see. Glad you enjoyed your visit!

This is very helpful! Me and my Family are thinking about vacationing in Seattle and noticed the Airbnb will be in Renton. So it’s good to know from a Black perspective how comfortable the place is. Also how is the drive from Renton into Seattle’s core?

Fun! From Renton to downtown Seattle, it’s about 20 mins, could be 30 with traffic. It’s not a bad drive. 😊
