I absolutely live my sniper. My only issues have been I routed my o2 sensor wire poorly and ended up wearing a hole into the wire on my steering shift, and my fuel pump wasn't mounted in the most secure location, so I think that caused pre mature failure on that... Also, keep on eye on your afrs. Mine slowly crept to a lean condition and had to have a guy build a fuel map to fatten it up a little. Since mine doesn't get road driven the auto learn wasn't able to properly map the fueling
I’ve been impressed so far first thing I did was climb up a steep wall and then just let it idle there for a min. That right there is worth every penny!
Did you leave the distributor plugged into the the stock igniter box or leave it unplugged and just hooked the yellow wire to the coil and vacuum line hooked up? Thank you
I left everything hooked up to the distributor the yellow wire I hooked up to the negative on the coil my truck had a empty plug that was meant for a tach that I modified one of the plugs from the carb to hook into it. The only vacuum lines are for the vacuum advance and the brake booster.
@@wreakhavocoff-road7163 what wire on your coil did you hook up the yellow wire to? That’s the only wire I can’t figure out which one to hook it to on the coil
@@kalybclarke2576 mine had a plug that was empty that would go to a tach on later models that’s what I hooked it to or just splice it into the negative side
This video has been super useful in converting my 82 toyota to fuel injection using the sniper kit. Question: Where did you mount the 02 sensor on the exhaust? You mentioned nothing about it on your video. From all the research I have done. I found that the sniper needs an 02 sensor installed into the exhaust and supposedly the kit provides one along with a bolt/weld flange to screw in the 02 sensor. Can you tell me the wire color you tapped into with the pink wire? I was a little confused by your explanation on that. Does the wire have to be constant hot? Or go hot when the ignition is turned on? Thanks
I mounted the o2 sensor at the crossmember as high on the exhaust as possible the pink wire is tapped into a black and yellow wire that’s hot ignition on and while cranking
Do you mind telling me step-by-step how you programed the handheld I am trying to get my Holley sniper efi running on my Toyota pickup, I have fuel an spark it will crank over just won’t fire up ,I just don’t think I set it up right on the handheld
Trail gear crossmember with bomb proof t case mounts. I don’t run it on the road much but I’m sure you get some vibration with solid motor and t case mounts 🤣
Hey man, thank you so much, I just got a Toyota pickup truck 82 and I needed a new carburetor, it’s awsome that you showed me a way to get fuel injection, do you need any other adapter plate other than the on that you showed or does it fit right up on the carb? Thank you
I am running a fitech 2 barrel kit on my truck. Cant get it right. Drinks gas like a twin turbo 454 and wont idle where i set it. Any ideas or suggestions?
@@wreakhavocoff-road7163 I run propane on my 82 and took this into consideration but felt it was worth the risk! Curious as see how the sniper system would perform off road though
Did they have this 2years ago If they did , I should have went this route, which I can run on gas or propane, but dang it looks a lot easier, How is it doing? Still may switch everything out and sell my propane kit, gave a lot of money for that How much did this set you back
My Holley just arrived this week. It's going on a 82 Toy 4x4. Can't wait to get it on. I'm in Canada so the LCE adapter is $50 in shipping costs alone, so I just made one my self after about 5 hours on my milling machine. I'm going with an in tank pump because I made welded a second flange for a digital fuel gage and will just use it for the pump install. I bought the 4 injector Holley version because stage 2 for me is to add a T3/T4 Turbo. The China turbos are so cheap and look decent for $200 Cdn. My truck will be a street driver, so a turbo will be nice to keep up with traffic, LOL. I won't be able to use my 2nd T case much anymore not living near the mountains. What's the part number of your air cleaner?
Hi there, I’m rebuilding my engine and gonna do the holly efi on my 85 Toyota do you have to have a thermostat if I’m doing the delete kit like what you did
Excellent reasoning about using your rig tools to do the work....👍👍🍺🍺

Nice job. I had to get rid of a lot of vacuum lines on my 22re
I wish I knew a shop that could do that to my 87 Toyota pickup .. in the Tyler, TX. Area
This is a really quality video dude

In a previous video you mentioned that you were running 4" trail gear Springs how much up travel do you have up front before bumps touch
??
About 5 in the front 4 in the rear

Love the video, thanks for sharing
Thanks
Can you post the link for the stuff to do the holley sniper conversion I'm Australian and I've been trying to find stuff to do my hilux
I’ll put it in the description.

How much uptravel do u have up front before bumps hit with the 4 inch springs
Like 4-5 in
Sweet rig man!
Where did you find the adapter plate for the sniper on the 82 Toyota
Lc engineering awesome place for anything that deals with Toyota motors
What fuel pump did you use and did you need a pressure regulator
It’s got a regulator on the sniper and the fuel pump come with the kit.
What’s the advantage of sniper system over propane?
Biggest one you can get gas anywhere at anytime of the day.
