I built a strip tiller, then thought to myself, why the hell did I take the dry boxes off my planter😆. Then I seen where Dr. Below got better yields off what he called dry drop with an air bar directing P and K to the base of the plant in season vs deep band. Also, what if a guy went narrow row corn (20" or less) would banding be worth it if the roots are spread out more? In the end I went away from dry fertilizer on the planter because it was hit and miss getting it to flow, blending it myself might be better, with all these liquid additives to dry fert it sticks in the co-ops blenders even if it wasn't in my blend and caused massive frustration
I strip till corn. I dropped to half rate . 100 lbs k 100 lbs AMS. Corn made 280 on 200 lbs n y dropped 3 times. I will continue to recommend strip till.
