We get insane June rains here in Manitoba. The trench that all strip till systems create in light soils means water sits and saturates in furrow, stunting corn at the v4 stage. A crucial stage for yield. I absolutely believe in the advantages in more arid soil zones. We have done a minimumal till system one year because of a planting window. It did very well and combining in fall was like driving on concrete. Thanks for the work you put into the video.

I think you should a straight rate in the strip and variable over the top. I had areas that called for no fertilize and within 2 yrs those areas were my lowest yield. This was with over the top variable rate. Just my 2 cents.

Have you tried subsoiling with both tillage methods.

Hello, ST vs NoTill. So 17$ for ST is with planting or just for ST? You said that need RTK to catch strips with planter. So thats mean plus price for planting. Or I had missunedrstand something? Thank you.

I had a lot of luck strip.tilling with WAAS and planting by hand.
For us it was a huge advantage financially and crop wise going to ST. Talk to guys in rich black southern soil and they dont see the gains in the crop or input savings like i do here but still see the soil health improvement.

Rates for establishing strip till range from $15 to $25 depending upon the application. Custom rates are higher if they are placing fertilizer with strip till operation. RTK, very necessary for strip till, would be an additional expense. A full strip till operation including RTK should be less than a conventional tillage system with two passes which runs about $30.
