Can't wait to see this full build!
You always know how to take a boring looking model and make it look great. Many thanks to you Tom as well as your collaborators: Tom Left Hand, Tom Right Hand, Tom shirt size, Tom Shoe Size...and guest starring The Cat as the cat
Great color choice man, can't wait to see the wheels on it...
This video is making me feel all nostalgic for the 2 CRXs I owned years ago. Really haven't thought much about them until now. The 90 Si I had also had that same bulged Si-R hood and I was pretty close to painting it a few shades darker to the color you chose before it was totalled, so I'm eager to see this one come together.
Nice... u always make cool builds
Nice Colour!Always love your builds!
When you showed us the pic of the Nissan in that colour I wasn't convinced, but it looks good on the model.
The yellow house club scriber really is worth the money. I bought one following your recommendation.
Thanks for the info Tom....
Awesome stuff
If I would build it I would get rid of that sunroof. It’s the only thing I hate about the CRX. Can’t wait to see this one finished!
NICE PAINT JOB. 👌
IT'S LIKE. 👍
What car do you drive in real life?
What is the name of the sandpaper you use at the beginning of the video to get the ink out of the pen?
Can you do an Acura type R I will like to see that
Hi Tom
The link to the Tamiya scriber comes up to a model with a large plastic handle, not a paint brush style. I actually can't find the one you're referring to.
they have now been added
Very beautiful paint jobs on your models. but wondering, do you paint all year long or in certain seasons?
All year long
When you mention to put down a light or thick coat, exactly what are you doing to achieve that? I have the same airbrush and was wondering if you're making adjustments at the back for a light coat.
I pull the trigger back less
It will take me more practice to do it that way. But it does sound like you have great control with yours. Thanks.
Great videos as usual. Question: What if a hair winds up on the finish during spraying - how do you remove it without having it mar the finish? I have two dogs and sometimes with all the moving air it's unavoidable. Other than euthanizing the dogs, what do you recommend?
Have you tried shaving the dogs?
I have no solution for this, the cat sometimes walks by my booth aswell. I just remove the hair carefully and apply a small extra coat to cover it up a little. does not help much though.
Can you add a video on dog shaving? I tried to deepen Murphy's panel lines, but it's hard holding him still for that.
Try marking it with a permanent marker first. that should help XD
Hi Tom,
I would like to request your opinion about place decals.
I'm ready to paint a rally car, Renault 5 Turbo - Tour de Course, 1985.
Decals should be applied before or after clear coat?...just to avoid huge contrasts
Decals have clear edge, do you trim it before apply?
Thanks
You can clear first, then put the decals on and clear again
What with windows / lights? They can be covered with clear too? I mean situation when for example windshield got stickers (rally or race car).
It can be done, though mostly does not look good.
Should i get an airbrush? I have the testors aztek, but seems to go through half jar for one vehicle
Mark 32332
I had one of those and upgraded to a relatively cheap airbrush with a compressor and it’s a night and day difference. If you want to take the next step in modeling it’s almost a requirement, but that said some have mastered the Aztec as well. It just wasn’t good enough for me.
John Parker yeah it is a pretty good paint tool,it just seems to use far too much paint
Mark 32332
It does get the job done, but when you get a decent airbrush/compressor combo (mine was under $150, so relatively cheap), it’s like going from a Toyota to a Lamborghini. It’s such a huge difference, in both application, control, and paint savings. It’s worth the cash if you’re serious about modeling (or just painting in general). Good luck Mark.
Mark 32332 it's not a pretty good Paint tool if it's putting the paint on too thick.
Colin Johnston oh,never thought about that
Maşallah çok güzel olmuş 🇹🇷
There are the different bodies of the CR-X in history.
Are you able to get a replacement window?
no
The Scalemodeling Channel
So they are not like some other companies that will send you a missing or damage piece...
No, Pretty sure only revell actualy does this
Revell probably only in models that are on stock. From my experience they do not care about out of stock ones:( Anyway it is always a good idea to write to company that made model and ask for parts. (btw Herpa helps with 1:87 models, I'm not sure if 1:43 too.)
Nee to this all..... Why do you paint the mould lines? And why then sand that off?
kjs You mark the mould lines so you can tell when you've completely removed them.
Steve Houlihan cheers. Ive just realised it's means the models moulding lines not the cars trim moulding. I thought plastic models were finished off ready to paint when you bought them?!
kjs Sadly no. All models need work before you paint them. Some more than others but all do.
