Just sold my 1198S: too hot for commuting, a little too unhinged for enjoying a nice weekend ride. Was going to get a V2 but I've just changed my mind. This bike has a $10,000 premium over the Panigale V2 but just imagine - you can see behind you, you won't cook in traffic, it will start, you don't have to change oil, spark plugs, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, and if you use motor braking, your brake pads will last and last. I'll miss the L2 sound, but this is worth it!

A 21 kWh battery pack does not seem large enough for 300 city / 200 hwy miles. The Livewire and Zero SR both have 15 kWh batteries and smaller motors and only get 160 city / 100 hwy miles (at 55mph and only 80 miles at 70 mph). So the numbers don't add up. More accurate might be 200 city and 125 hwy (100 hwy at 70 mph).
Being able to utilize the Tesla Supercharger network with this thing would be the most epic addition ever! They'd outsell these if they were able to pull off such a contract with Tesla.
With more power comes higher responsibility. Frame protectors, crash protectors have to be in place. Air-bag vest along with full leather gear and a helmet is a must!

I heard back from Damon and it is a 3 hr charge time for 200 miles. They are looking at a quick charge development. If you are out for a group ride and your mates are on gas bikes. They will all fill up in a few minutes each. Are they going to wait around 3 hours while you charge up?

The rear view camera!!! I had that idea and I even emailed a company that has high frame rate for drone racing that I was giving the idea for for a measly free pair. The company received my idea and never sent me the free pair, what a shame. So I give the idea to anyone now, Wi-Fi connectivity to iPhone plus charging on tender on a ram mount. Cam hooked up where tail light, or license plate removal mount. Rechargeable or license plate battery hookup. Safety minded people do your mods let’s see. It’s perfect for, let’s face it, zooming on highways with other fast bikes, blind spot. No need to check rear view mirror.

I don't need a 200mph bike for 25k - 30k. I need a 60-70mph bike that goes 120 miles per charge and costs 5k. If you can do that. You'll win the market.
Belt drives aren’t very good for a bike like this.. High TQ/hp and high speeds usually doesn’t end well for belts unless they are thick and wide as hell... there goes your weight
These are really great and features that we need. So you are looking down more at a screen instead of eyes up. This would be better if they designed a screen that could be on your visor as a HUD. Many high end cars now have this, it will soon filter down to regular cars as optional extras. Our eyes should never be off the road!
@@PEPWEY I know. A film/smart glass that is placed on the inside of your visor. Data is blue toothed to the visor from the bike. Your head stays looking up and speed, direction etc all there in front of you. I couldn't think of anything worse than having to look at a monitor or trying to see it with a tinted visor on for safety information etc. Get it up and in our face. If I was Damon Motorcycles, I would have teamed up with a big helmet manufacturer Shark, Shoei etc.Get them on board
All these major motorcycle companies should have been had these features with the millions of $ they have plus access to resources. It’s nice to see someone stepped up to the plate and executed it flawlessly. The only thing tho is. I personally don’t care for electric anything except a daily car Im much more of an “experience” kinda guy. These electric vehicles will hit a limit very soon on what they can offer and will dry out fast. Yes they can go fast and have all these crazy features plus environmental efficiency if that’s the right term but I think we are getting to a point with automotive technology where most of the features are kinda of pointless gimmicks because there is only so much you can do. The next big thing I think will truly evolve for years to come is propulsion.
I wish I knew more about motorcycles but the range is very low for a motorcycle. Blame it on Tesla but I need to see a battery pack, the motor and the inverters. I see this motorcycle as a prototype to help them learn and as they learn more and technology gets better that will make better bikes. I wish the major automakers would copy this strategy
I like the bike, but I am against any kind of tech, that has to have updates, and have to sign a EULA. (Per se) cameras are cool, but what about seeing the screen in harsh daylight? And they can break, screen can have symptoms, etc, etc, and costly to replace. Put mirrors on it. They should offer two versions. A stripped down base model. ( without radar, camera, buzzy grips, etc, etc) and a full on version. Nice bike but not 25 grand. I'll pay 12 K for it though.

Guessing around 500lbs with that level of material science and 21kwh battery. It's unwieldy heavy at low speed. But very light and flickable once you have momentum.

I'd love for it to be a competitive trackday Superbike but 500lbs is extremely heavy when you're comparing it against other superbikes that start in the low 400s and can get south of 400 with just a few parts and pieces. But still I'm very excited for the Damon! Hoping it's performance on track will be strong vs ICE machines to make electric sportbikes more viable.
@@fightingcarrot Wow you have no clue what you are talking about. Sure it's unwieldy at low speed or moving it switched off. But once you are at speed have momentum. It leans in really easily and finely controlled. Its light a flickable very little resistance. That's what happens if the weight distribution of the Solid Battery Pack is designed correctly. It has no problems on a track, you are simply never slow enough to not have momentum.
I don’t care for record breaking speed e-bike. I never go faster than 75 mph. I want a reliable, good value, long range bike. I don’t care about 200 mph.
