When you get more experienced with fragrances you learn what kind of notes you like/dislike the most and that makes it easier to blind buy fragrances. Myself for example, likes earthy tobacco, oriental spices kind of scents. I never smelled louis vuitton ombre nomade for example, but i do know if i want to, i can safely blind buy it. The notes give me a pretty accurate idea of how it would smell like.
I bought Bentley for men intense as a blind buy. All i get are complements, and get asked what fragrance do you have on today. A lot of people like it.
My blind buy mistake was wanted by night. Im still testing it but I'm not sold on it compared to it's flankers TMW. It's nice just too fruity for me. Before that I bought some cheapies at a rack store and those were also total mistakes. I rarely blind buy now and test things first unless it's really cheap and I don't mind it or just want to have the bottle.
Ash, the first fragrance I blind bought was Encre Noire at your suggestion 4 years ago when I began my fragrance journey. When first got it I did not like it at all. With time and as I experienced more fragrances I grew to love it and now its one of my favorites.
I blind bought Wanted By Night when it was on sale. I like it for the cold winter nights and holidays though almost unbearable for me through out the other 9 months.
Blind bought encre noir and wasnt disappointed. Its that dark vetiver but over the years my "taste" for fragrances had changed and i like it now. Got all encre noir flankers too except indigo. Blind bought azzaro wbn and certaintly enjoyed it. Probably I already know that I'm more into gourmand type of fragrances now. For some reason I'd take H24edt and Eau Givree any time any day of the day than Terre De Hermes. That one i sampled and didn't like it. If i have it, probably give it to my father. 😊
100% true with the Spicebomb. It's great frag in terms of quality and parameters, that's for sure, but I just can't stand it. It irritates my nose and I have to wash it off asap. I tested all the Spicebomb line and only one flanker (Night Vision EDP) doen't repel me.

Sadly, none of the aforementioned carry any niche, "hidden gem" designer frags and definitely other than Montblanc, no clones like Lattafa or Al-Haramain etc. So Ash, I have blind bought nearly eeeeeeverything in my humble collection. I started, not really collecting but accumulating, in Nov '23 and I've used you, Omar from School of Scent, ATH (he's great), Monika Colognes, Justin Copeland and Marcello, the niche collector. You all are my main sources, but I trust you and I take a gamble and hope for the best. If anything, I've bought a super early Christmas or birthday gift for one of my brother :) Thanks for everything though.

Afnan 9pm. Got it yesterday 5 spray sore head and made me feel sick...its beyond sweet, and its eternal 17 hours no lie. I even could smell it after my shower. Definitely not a blind buy. Honestly im lucky the seller is taking a return snd replacing it with 9 am Dive. Hopefully thats safer.
I was surprised at how Detour Noir was not masculine and definitely unisex. Your description of Moschino reminded me of it. I’m curious if there is a masculine tobacco scent I could pair with it to sort of blend them together. But honestly I haven’t found a clone of anything that blows me away. I’m almost convinced that I’m just wasting money and should cut my losses. My designers are an obvious step up. I should probably just stick to those houses and price ranges.
I can agree since I own it that most will not like Bentley Intense. For me though it reminds me of all the times I went to the barber shop growing up and for that reason I actually like it because the scent is nostalgic to me. BUT it is not mass appealing and definitely not a date night scent, I only wear it for myself not to get compliments. The only time I'd wear it in a social setting is if I'm hanging with the boys, smoking a cigar while drinking a glass of whiskey, that kind of vibe.
I own Some of those fragrances, and I'm totally happy with them. I was at an airport recently and I had my Sniff to Dior Homme intense. I knew it. I feel I'm in Love more and more... It will be one of my next purchases!!! It's basically the Goat of Iris!!! Everyone can describe it in his own way, but it's just top 10 MUST HAVE/BUY!!! Terre d'hermes is not for everyone... I'll say it's for more experienced and sufisticated folks... Thanks for the video! But
Bentley and Encre are both designed by the same perfumer! She's probably my favorite perfumer overall. But I agree, they aren't instant buys and you should try them out first (If you can).
Great video. So many if these were ones I either sampled first and was surprised or blind bought and regretted. Thought I'd love BR540 but it turns out that saffron is too strong for my liking.
Terre D'Hermes was an excellent blind buy for me, at first I actually did not like it, but it grew on me pretty quick, I bought it the same time I got the bulgari man in black, and I actually think they seem a little similar, but it seems like there's some more orange in the Hermes, it's really nice.
I sampled Spicebomb Extreme a couple weeks and youre right about that opening blast - I REFLEXIVELY recoiled, maybe even before it actually hit my skin! It was rough! But after a few minutes it became bearable. After 30-45 minutes it was pretty nice and i might consider it in the future. But yeah, that opening is a real doozy
Burberry 540 right on. Was Toy Boy bear 🐻 just there to keep you company. LOL Keep on doing what you do Ash as I can’t imagine coming up with new content in this hobby.
it works great layered with other Fall fragrances (Azzaro The Most Wanted, Lattafa Khamrah, Boss Bottled Oud, Bvlgari Man In Black, etc.). Helps minimize the cumin/BO smell & offset it with other sweet/candy notes and stronger leather, tobacco, and woods.
I blind-bought Dior Homme Intense, and I fell in love with it straight away. I immediately was like "It's the best thing I've ever smelt and probably will ever smell." This fragrance fits me perfectly.

Perhaps the previous version was even better and the next will be watered down (like everything in life so it seems), I guess I'll never know, but when I'll have 150 euros to spend, I'll definitely check out Dior Homme Parfum.

I traded my bad boy le parfumf for Dior homme intense and guilty Gucci absolute. I love both! The Gucci is hard to wearbut I wear it just for myself. Out of all my collection my wife loves toy boy on my skin.
I remember getting Dior homme intense early on for my collection because of the hype. I was no a fan of it at all. At the time I didn't smell to many fragrances mainly freshies and blue fragrances. After smelling a lot more things I came back to it and really enjoyed it.
Terre- My wife and I spent the remainder of our mall trip trying to get it off my hand😂 Encre’ Noir- A female coworker said “what’s that smell!?” Gave it a co worker I’m not very fond of Interlude- sampled and I’ve come to the conclusion that vetiver is just not for me 😂

Yeah, that oregano note with the original Interlude is a killer. You either love it or you don't. Thankfully, Interlude Black Iris smoothed it out and I daresay made it better than the original. Even the extrait (Interlude 53) is actually smoother than the original so while the price tag is really high, there's almost no reason to have the original Interlude anymore unless you love that harsh oregano note. 😅
I use to own pacco rabanne one million and Sauvage. I blindbought baccarat Rouge 540 and Tom ford oud wood from Nordstrom. $800. First sniff off oud wood got me like what did i bought. I liked baccarat.
I don't know if I'd particularly say Homme Intense and Terre d'Hermes as cautious blind buys. Personally I'd take Eau Givree over the original just because I feel like Eau Givree is alot more versatile as far as seasonality go. Homme Intense on the surface sounds a bit challenging due to the iris, but having a more recent batch, for me the iris isn't such a strong prescence especially compared to Dior's history. Especially in winter I can use it whenever and not feel like its out of place.
I bought the Clone for OUD FOR GLORY, "OUD FOR GREATNESS" Thank Gawd I didn't blind buy the real thing. This was very harsh and tough to pull off. It basically grabbed me and threw me around the room.
I have all of these except for the nasamatto and the OG spice bomb but to be fair I actually like both of those as well as all the other ones on this list and my scent of the day is Xerjoff Naxos

Everyone said Dior Homme Intense was a beast and you need to buy it, but I found the Iris is way too cloying and headache inducing. Spicebomb Extreme is what everyone gave 10/10 on TH-cam I liked it and bought a bottle, after 10 wears it wasn’t growing on me and it was too sweet I ended up giving my bottle to my nephew and bought the original Spicebomb and found it easier to wear and it always delivers.
I have baccarat rouge 540 edp it's my 2 bottle this time in 200 ml. I wear this summer or winter when I don't what I'm gonna wearing. And interlude I have the OG and Black iris it's not loud for me or chalenging. Maybe if you begin in fragrance 🌎
I blind bought the original interlude over the interlude 53 or the black iris based on your reviews about them aside from a couple of other channels. It’s true, for a beginner it’s not safe but if you are looking to expand your fragrance game beyond the usual favorites.. this one is FKN TiTz …the incense is strong but this lasts and lasts.. in a great way. Love it.
btw, as a beginner, most fragrances dont smell as most beginners imagine when they watch videos, for example, the most wanted and most wanted parfum, i was expecting much sweetness as all the videos have said, but it wasnt as much as i expected, etc
I actually blind bought absolute and encre noire. Love them both, but GG Absolute is definitely a little difficult to wear out - also something you want to spray a LONG time before you go for a workout because it smells absolutely disgusting when it mixes with sweat and BO. Made that mistake once, never making it ever again. Encre noire is actually quite nice IMO, I go light on the sprays (usually 2 sprays) and I would say it's a pretty versatile fragrance. I've been considering the OG spicebomb actually, it looks like what I want from the spicebomb variants but never get - literally just a spice bomb lol.
Of all the blind buy fragrances I bought, WBN is the least liked. The cinnamon n sweetness is just too much. Jeremy’s Unisex is very similar but softer n more elegant.
I blind bought Asad and Detour Noir based on your recommendation, did not like either of them. Detour noir was a real let down simply because I did not know that Layton would smell kinda bad. Asad was okay, it's just too middle eastern in scent, with all the spices, it doesn't smell pleasant.
It just so happened that my second fragrance which I blind bought was encre niore I do really enjoy the scent, but definitely not something I'm commonly wearing.
Loved Encre Noire ... My body chemistry did Not. The dry down was not very ... Nice Bentley For Men could be a better option than Bentley Intense ... scent wise. Not as overwhelming.

Completely agree with the list (although it is far from complete). Having over 100 perfumes in my collection and having tried over 1000, I still can't stand half of this list. Encre Noire, Terre, Bentley Intense, Interlude and Black Afgano are complete gross 🥴🤢🤮
New buyer here. I bought the Encre Noir and the A L'Extreme blind buy. Loved them both. Bought a Dior Homme Parfum, well not so much. Then someone said it smelt like baby powder. ugh Live and learn.

Wow...I'm exactly the opposite. Can't stand Night Vision and Extreme just dies as soon as it hits my skin. The OG is the best IMO.

what batch did you got? i looked at the newer batch and i noticed the juice is paler than the one everyone had and i thought Dior watered the down

It’s true, for a beginner it’s not safe but if you are looking to expand your fragrance game beyond the usual favorites.. this one is FKN TiTz …the incense is strong but this lasts and lasts.. in a great way. Love it.
btw, as a beginner, most fragrances dont smell as most beginners imagine when they watch videos, for example, the most wanted and most wanted parfum, i was expecting much sweetness as all the videos have said, but it wasnt as much as i expected, etc
I actually blind bought absolute and encre noire. Love them both, but GG Absolute is definitely a little difficult to wear out - also something you want to spray a LONG time before you go for a workout because it smells absolutely disgusting when it mixes with sweat and BO. Made that mistake once, never making it ever again. Encre noire is actually quite nice IMO, I go light on the sprays (usually 2 sprays) and I would say it's a pretty versatile fragrance.
I've been considering the OG spicebomb actually, it looks like what I want from the spicebomb variants but never get - literally just a spice bomb lol.

Of all the blind buy fragrances I bought, WBN is the least liked. The cinnamon n sweetness is just too much. Jeremy’s Unisex is very similar but softer n more elegant.

I blind bought Asad and Detour Noir based on your recommendation, did not like either of them. Detour noir was a real let down simply because I did not know that Layton would smell kinda bad. Asad was okay, it's just too middle eastern in scent, with all the spices, it doesn't smell pleasant.
I'm glad I sampled Encre Noir. To me it's 95% vetiver, and 5% cypress. I wasn't a big fan. Sport is much better but still not for me.

Completely agree with the list (although it is far from complete). Having over 100 perfumes in my collection and having tried over 1000, I still can't stand half of this list. Encre Noire, Terre, Bentley Intense, Interlude and Black Afgano are complete gross 🥴🤢🤮

New buyer here. I bought the Encre Noir and the A L'Extreme blind buy. Loved them both. Bought a Dior Homme Parfum, well not so much. Then someone said it smelt like baby powder. ugh Live and learn.
Luckily 4 u, it's a high valued resell item. I'd sit with it 4 a min just to be sure though.
