I'm so glad he's making it. He deserves every success and his songs are exquisitely written and touch so many hearts - what poetry in his words, his voice, the arrangement - and the musicians. You can tell who someone is by how long their musicians stay with them. I think he is kind, sincere, and so he keeps his musicians because it takes more than just being so good - it takes being good to people. I think he's all that - the real deal.
Well I write and have a journal and I love to sing only at home either way I am not sure what I want to do and I do not have the courage to be in front of anyone
It's kinda sad when your dad tells you you won't make the cut for hockey. Aren't people supposed to play hockey for their own pleasure first? And then your dad asking other musicians if his kid is going to make it into music, wow.
The reality for a “good” hockey player is that, if by the age of 20 you aren’t drafted and playing professionally, it’s pretty much over. There are exceptions but it’s extremely rare. Patrick being honest and realistic is actually proper parenting, the best thing he could do for his son. He’s backed his choice, so again, he’s a great parent imo.
@@regortex3364 Good parenting? Definitely not. Telling your kid to stop playing a sport because they won't make it into the national league? What kind of mentality is that? It's like telling your kid to stop going to school because they're not getting straight As. Who does that?
@@fakeappellation7343 - The Roy’s aren’t part of the woke, “participation award” type family, poor Jonathan pick the wrong gene pool for that kind of parenting. He’s enjoying a successful singing career which is supported by his father, I’m sure he’s not missing playing hockey in a beer league in Quebec, Patrick seems to be a great parent.

His dad is the famous ex NHL goalie Patrick Roy... Jonathan was trying to get a spot in the NHL... His dad helped him by being honest.
He didn't even want to play hockey in the first place. He said in an other interview that he was actually really relieved when his dad told him that.
