This is how it unfolded and where he ran to when he was chased by Diego and then Enzo
I do feel bad for going all out on the tigers but I had no other choice , I did say sorry to them especially to Enzo .I have a lot of respect for them and did not like doing this.

Michael should sit down with Spider Cat, if he hasn't already, and explain to him that his ambition to become a tiger is not very reasonable.

its the fact that enzo and diego didn't even attack michael when he entered shows how much respect they have for him. They could have easily turned their attention to him instead of the cat but didnt.

Just rewatched this video after seeing your video today about Spidercat passing away. It amazed me how you put your own life on the line to save his this day, not a fraction of people would do that ! You were such a wonderful owner for Spidercat. Thoughts sent your way as you ALL mourn his death. ❤
Melissa Hutch Just curious to understand how he is such a wonderful owner to put a small creature at so much risk to two apex predators.
When I watched the dog video I fell asleep shortly after and had a dream I had Enzo, Diego, and *ALL* the dogs staying with us as temporary house guests, and the dream was filled with making sure the tigers were happy in the yard and combining our own pack of dogs with Michael's, and it was absolutely chaos. Dogs were running all over the house and yard, barking, playing, peeing, and we were throwing things over furniture to keep muddy paws at bay.
When I woke up I remember thinking "can you believe it....NO I CANNOT!! Tigers, cats, two packs of dogs in one did not work!!" and it made me appreciate your place more =D
A silly dream but still made me laugh at how hectic it was!

Two things. 1. God Bless you Michael you have such a big heart. 2. When the dogs were all upstairs jumping on you, you were laughing like a kid who is so happy. It put such a smile on my face. I needed that. That is the pure joy animals give. Thank you for caring enough to explain the whole situation to us. So glad it turned out fine. Remember we all were saying Michael are you ok? Wow and phew. I'm still amazed at your ability to save a cat in a 2 tigers enclosure while videoing by holding your phone with one hand! Yeay for the puppies always protecting you. Please, remember that Enzo didn't give it his all because he loves you, but you did and barely got him down. Enzo just wants to go back in his old house but he would play too rough with all, humans, cats and dogs.
Those puppies would just be like popcorn to the tigers.

@@ltagames01 Not old house in the literal sense; the implication is that Enzo was probably reminded of his good old days in the house and wanted to go right in. He lived inside the house for almost a year and a half, I hear.
spidercat needs to use his special ability and CLIMB!
If he figures out how to climb, I’m sure the other cats would take note & this scary scenario would become a lot more frequent! If they learn how to climb out, they can surely figure out how to climb IN! 😉
I think it would take enough time to climb that the tigers could just jump and grab spidercat
Tigers can jump up to 5 meters vertically no way climbing would work

The more interesting part is that when Michael pinned him down, you can hear a faint chuff which was unmistakably Enzo's. It cannot be seen because the phone was no longer in Michael's hands, but the recording was still on.
It's sad, but it's necessary, I'm sure Michael misses it too.

They are not wild. They are quite used to all animals at this point and even used to live in the house when they were smaller. I think a common misconception of these animals is that they believe that these animals have a naturally desire to kill and harm when that just isn't the case. When these animals are in the wild it is life and death. They do what must be to survive and it is brutal. But when these animals are raised since cubs in a more relaxed and kind setting then they have no need to kill and harm. The only problem with them when they are fully grown is that they still enjoy playing rough and many times don't know how to control their strength. They aren't malicious but even if they are not they are still able to harm a smaller animal with such ease. If they wanted to they could even kill Michael, but they never do attack anyone at there full strength. Not even themselves albeit they are using more force on each other than they would on others. He and others have interacted with these animals while grown on many occasions and even the other animals. In this situation for Diego I can't really say what his intentions was, I don't think he wanted to kill the cat but wanted to play. But of coarse that is impossible with the size difference.

Watching the video in slow motion and seeing your hand reach out to grab Enzo is absolutely amazing. It's incredible to see what happened as you explain it. Diego darting away, Enzo running out...all the things that were confusing to watch in the original video. Still heart stopping to watch. Excellent, excellent job.

I agree with another person who recommended a double gating system to avoid situations like this. It would not stop everything. I see the cats on the top of the walls & they could enter that way too, or go from top of wall to a tree then down. But, a double gate would help in some cases. With your metal skills adding a double gating system would most likely be an easy task. Whatever you do stay safe. As much as all of us love the cats we love Michael more and don't want you harmed. Stay safe Michael!
TopHat I agree, friend! As I stated in another message, Although spider cat appreciated his act of bravery even more than all of his fans did, I'd rather Michael not have to experience that again anytime soon!
He may have mentioned in a video recently, he was working on plans for a secondary gate, I could be mistaken, but welding jobs take time to prepare and do right. Lets wish him good luck in the meantime!
I suggested double gates after the first videos - partly in case one of the tigers got out in this kind of incident. If one got out, that would be the end .

That could've been a blood bath. I'm glad hes reviewing the video, and hope he's taking steps for it to never happen again. It's crazy how things can escalate in the blink of an eye. He jumps on Enzo , but the gate was still open. Luckily Diego didn't run out. These are the things that hopefully keep him up night, what is the safest way to handle situations like these. Do you risk the safety of all the animals to save 1? I don't mean to be negative, but that's the million dollar question Michael. Stay safe.

Someone or something was watching over all of you that day! I think you mentioned in the original video (or right after that) that it's your relationship with Enzo and Diego that protected you that day, and I firmly believe it!!! They obviously have a great respect for you, and when you jumped into action to save Spider Cat, they knew right away who the dominant "tiger" was! Still glad that door opened to let the dogs out & allow Spider Cat to escape. As I said, something or someone was watching over the Jamison clan that day! ❤

Ronny Schmidt please consider that others may be more inclined to converse with you if you approach them inquisitively rather than defensively. To answer your question, I am aware that Michael enters the enclosure frequently, but when he does, the tigers are safely locked in another section. He does not typically go into the space WITH them (he has often talked about the danger of doing so) and certainly not to tackle one as it tries to chase down its prey! What I meant by 'protected' is that Michael's relationship with the tigers is built on mutual trust & that's what allowed him to prevent that particular tiger from going after the cat. If he had NOT raised those tigers himself & established a dominant male position with them, I'm sure the event would have ended much differently.

When you think about it, things went incredibly well.
Maybe it is time to get a second door, so it's always closed behind you, and every part of your garden can be separated.

This was the scariest video I've seen for a long time, really - when I saw the original one with the drones - Jesus, still gives me the chill... this must have been really scary to you to realize Spidercat is in the enclosure and you have to do something... Happy to know that everything worked out OK in the end!

They were just following their instincts, but, you acted really fast, and you saved Spider cat's life. Hello Michael Jamison. Today was my six year olds book fair. I picked up a Ripley's believe it or not book and imagine my surprise when lo and behold a picture of you and mr. Enzo were in the book. Of course we bought it. Love it. That's just great.

Black cats are my absolute favorite...
Ive always been a dog person (especially Boxer dogs- they are sooooo loving and playful and young spirited ♥♡)
But this year.... i rescued two cats. Only owned one outside cat when i was a child and she was also all black, but ive never raised kittens.
My first rescue this year, was a black and white male who came from a pregnant stray that a church lady took in, cared for, and helped deliver her babies....
The second came only weeks later during the hurricane that hit us in Florida. Hurricane Urma...
A different lady also saw a pregnant stray before we were all evacuated- when we all were allowed to return she noticed the cat was no longer pregnant and went searching for its babies, with the luck of finding one....
My lil all black baby boy!
I named them after my dads first language Farsi, the mixed cat is Pilangy (means baby tiger) and the black cat is Gorbeh (literally translates to Cat lol)
Because Gorbeh was born in an actual category 3 hurricane, he is VERYYYYY SKIDISH and scared. He doesn't trust ANYONE but Me. And it took a Lot of love and patience for him to even accept me. I love him soooo much, and because he only trusts me, i love him that more more, because i know he needs me, and likewise - i need him.

Wowie! That could have been a real disaster. I'm really happy the cat was okay and nobody got hurt. But you do need to be careful. Enzo only went down because he loves you and it was still really hard even though he was going easy.
