New Portal North Bridge Span # 2 Ferry Move 1.15.25

The Amtrak/New Jersey Transit Portal Bridge replacement project is fully underway, with the bridge being well over 50% complete. The new Portal North Railroad Bridge will consist of a total of 3 truss spans, to be assembled in Albany, NY and moved via barge to the job site in Secaucus, NJ. Here we see span # 2 being brought down the Hudson River at spots between Kingston, and Poughkeepsie, NY. The next and final span is projected to come down within the next month. Enjoy!

Interesting to see the span for the NEW Portal Bridge passing underneath the historic OLD former New Haven RR Poughkeepsie bridge! (Now Walkway Over the Hudson!). 😊

Does anybody have the schedule for SPAN 3? I tried to find the schedule for SPAN 2 on the internet, but no luck. Thanks for the video!
