I didn't recognise this bridge because it was videod from teh East bankd of the river. The old buildings behind the barge are the museums and converted into apartments. It's nice to walk round on a sunny morning.
This is Kingston upon Hull The barge is the rix owl (oil carrier)the river is the tidal river HullThe bridge on the river is meant to look like a shark from the side
Some other floating bridges are moving the both sides. But this one moving only one side. So 75% of the weight of the bridge is carrying one pivot motor. Very nice different technology. May i know which country this is located.?
Great video, Brian. This stretch of the River Hull was known as the old harbour. 50 years ago it would have been crammed with barges, many loading or discharging at the warehouses opposite, most of which are now converted into flats. The River Hull is navigable as far as Driffield. On the way is the town of Beverley where many Hull trawlers were built before being towed to Hull for fitting out. In 2017, 27 Morris teams arrived in Hull for the Morris Federaton AGM and some got the chance to dance on the bridge as it was moving. The bridge staff were very accomodating and it was a memorable experience and privilege. A man called Stewart ward videoed the "Buttercross Belles" dancing on the bridge and you can see his video at th-cam.com/video/Tju7G_biww4/w-d-xo.html
Well it looks out of place but I guess that doesn't matter, it looks kind of space age almost I guess, but it still takes two guys to open and close the gate , BY HAND , hahahahaha. , Jeezz the designers could not come up with an automatic gate, what was the matter that would have cost an extra two thousnad bucks on top of the millions it cost to build the bridge hahaha. ??
wtf build another one higher no?! hahahah you have to build one at the same height so you have to pay to move it .... pay someone to move it and pay electricity ..
+Grassy Ranks well , look at the other bridge .... you could do the same thing and for the people with problems you coudl do other way like an automatic tapis roulant conveyor belt
About someone got off their Rsez and made more of the waters in and around HUll and HUMBER. A twin dam near to Saltend with the ability to generate electricity and twin lock gates would see it self funding. You could have river traffic 24 hrs a day reduce sandbanks ,eliminate most dredging and create one of the largest fresh water recreation areas on the planet..I,m sure a team of Dutch engineers would gladly show our lot the way forward.
Been away from Hull for 13 years. What a beautiful bridge.

Yorkshire. East Yorkshire.
Nice bridge
Why was the guy recording this so interested in the boat going under the bridge??
4.2 million people wonder why too?
Hi - we had been watching them build this bridge for a very long time and I think this was the first boat we’d seen pass through
Bridge workers sure are not in any hurry!
very nice
Non solo in Italia esistono gli sprechi!!!
So... Are pedestrians allowed on the bridge while it's in motion? I saw two people (not bridge ops) on the bridge during the closing.
Hi - yes they let people who were already on stay where they were.
Amazing movable bridge
