    A special thanks to myToyota Dealer in CA for selling me this 2023 Toyota Camry LE
    Let's compare the Camry LE to the Accord and take a nice mountain road trip.
    The Toyota Camry gives you a reliable engine, space, and practicality to go with this family sedan. This Camry LE is the base model and although it doesn’t have all of the bells and whistles, it gives you an easy car to live with and a good overall value base model.

No issues as a 6'1 person...as I adjust the seat low. Went with Camry over Accord because it is standard transmission over a CVT and Toyota is slightly more reliable. I paid 30000 OTD, 15k miles. I didn't know anyone still purchased base models anymore (our dealership has none in stock). We Factory-ordered our 2023 Camry XLE AWD in the new Reservoir Blue. Yes, it's top of the line (non-hybrid), but we are currently ending a 2020 lease on an Accord 2.0T Touring model. Sat in a new 2023 Accord and hated it. Inside was smaller than the Camry, because Accords are now hybrids (top levels, not base trims), so front seat tracks are shorter to make room for battery packs under floorboard.

    Good choice on the Camry over the Accord and good video. In late 2018 I narrowed down my top two cars to a 2019 Camry SE and Accord Sport 1.5T, both about $26,000. I chose the Camry because it offered more car for the money: 2.5L naturally aspirated engine and 8-speed automatic over the Accord’s problematic 1.5L Turbo engine with oil dilution woes and the CVT transmission. I like the looks of the Camry and expected top notch reliability. So far that's been the case, just normal maintenance over 4+ years. I hope yours also is pleasing your wife years later!

    Glad that your wife is ok. The most important feature for a car is that it will keep you safe in an accident and reliable enough to keep you from waiting for a tow truck on the side of the road! So I just bought the 2021 version of this car with only 8k miles on it. Looks like Toyota made the climate control dual zone? Love this "base" model. Test drove SE and XSE but the larger low profile wheels and tires made the ride rougher--and those sizes are prone to more damage and expensive replacement. Don't want to sound like the old guy on the porch but these modern vehicles with all the tech are too complex and frankly the tech is a distraction while driving. Even with the basic Toyota safety sense I have to keep myself from paying too much attention to the MID. The only change I made was aftermarket Softex seat covers which are much cheaper than leather but protect very well, look like OEM and are a fraction of the cost. The ride is a perfect balance of performance and comfort. I call mine a budget Lexus ES. Enjoy the next 200k worry free miles! My inlaws have a 2003 with 275k miles in the same color and it's still a tank!

    I drive my 2020 Camry hybrid in eco and there’s a small difference but I never have to press the gas any more than in normal. The only thing I don’t like about the hybrid is that at very slow speeds the electric motor does all the work, so if you’re trying to inch forward, the brake pedal controls the speed of the electric motor until a certain point when the actual brakes kick in. They didn’t do a good job calibrating it since instead of inching forward you end up doing a series of jerky go stop go stop, no matter how easy and smooth you are on the brake pedal.

    I have a 2002 Acura CL Type S I bought used in 2004. I had to replace the transmission under warranty in 2005. Last week, the mechanic told me that I needed to replace the transmission a 2nd time. It is the 1st car I bought all by myself, and giving it up has been like losing a close friend. I walked into Toyota after doing research on Hondas and Acuras. It seems like transmission, electrical, and/or engine issues were common with them. I'm hoping that taking a leap of faith with Toyota will bring peace of mind that I am not going to have to go through this ordeal again.

      I read an Article back in 2006/2007 saying that Ford, Nissan & Honda/Acura were all known over time to have Transmission issues. Either way cars aren't built like they once were. I know back in the 80s&90s Nissan, Honda & Toyota was at the top of their game with Reliability. Nowadays its not that way. Toyota still stays traditional unlike everyone else with Turbo's etc. Good luck on your Journey, just stay away from buying any cars from Carmax, trust me. 😒

    • @markm0000
      @markm0000 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So how this works is your transmission fluid wears out after a while. Manufacturers all say it’s a lifetime fluid that’s never replaced. Well it’s only true for the lifetime of the warranty coverage. That fluid is not going to last forever. If you want your new cars transmission to last as long as possible then pay the money to replace the fluid and filter inside every 30k miles. Then when the car reaches 100k miles do a complete refresh of the engine with new timing parts, pulleys, balancer, fluids, engine mounts, PCV system, and sensors. Also inspect the engine bearings and valves with a report comparing them to book specs. If you pay a little more money to have it inspected by a competent mechanic, you won’t worry about that engine for another 100k miles. A good secret is using a turbo timer even on a non turbo car to give the engine a few minutes to take a breather and cool down before turning off. That saves a lot of wear and tear over time. You won’t notice the fuel economy difference these engines barely use any fuel when idling. Also get the auto start stop disabled that amplifies this problem to the max when you’re running the engine hard down the freeway and it shuts off at the exit ramp stop light. I can’t imagine the heat cycles these engines go through.

    wise choice, the problem with all 2023 Honda Accords regardless of trim level they all sux because the only one worth getting was the 2022 Accord Touring 2.0T non-Hybrid. In 2023 Honda took away the 2.0T just as they did several years ago and dropped the Accord V6. All Accords have a noisy cabin. Now, if the choice was 2022 Accord Touring 2.0T (non-hybrid version) and 2018 - 2023 Toyota 8th Generation Camry's including XLE, XSE, and TRD with V6, I would probably go with the Accord Touring 2.0T (non-hybrid) or maybe the 2023 Camry XSE V6.
    another thing 2023 Camry LE is in its 6th year as an 8th Gen. sedan therefore, is the 2023 Accord better with updated style, features, amenities, and safety? It comes to price and your preference for appearance. The 2023 Accord is in its new 1st iteration of 11th Gen so the bugs have not been ironed out. The 2023 Camry LE has been around the block even though outdated and still reliable, and if you want wireless Carplay and Android Auto get the Ottocast U2-X Pro dongle for $99. I know of no one who likes the Honda Idle-Stop it is annoying, a nuisance, and just no good.

      @losinglouie Honesty it's a hit or miss with vehicles nowadays. I didn't grow up in a Honda Family. Back in the 80s and 90s we always owned Ford or GM. Some were crappy and others were extremely reliable. Hondas although nice were never our style. But we did have Family Friends and Neighbors that especially Back then loved their Honda Products. I've looked at Acura but it's seems Honda/Acura has been having a lot of Recalls lately. If I do decide to stay with Toyota, it might try Lexus or pre-owned Avalon but no more Camry's. I'm 1% out of 99% with not having good luck with mine.😄
