Hey everyone, Sigi from the Lab Maniacs here. Great episode! I'm really happy to see cEDH getting some exposure, but honestly: I'm even happier to see that you guys all had fun with it. cEDH has this reputation of not being fun because people are playing to win, but that couldn't be further from the truth. I think that this video did a great job of showcasing that cEDH can be really enjoyable. Thank you all for doing this! I'm also happy to see that one of you decided to play one of my decks - I hope the primer ended up being helpful for Crim.
Huge fan here, Sigi! I'm a casual player, love your content and in general cEDH content. Just want to add that, as mentioned in the video, the sticker shock of $6000+ for these cEDH decks is a huge deterrent for many people. For that reason I do enjoy whenever you guys make content for high powered decks
@@highdark4 Yeah, affordability is sadly a huge concern and barrier to entry when it comes to cEDH, and it's not gonna get better in the future. That's why we try to provide budget builds and generally encourage the use of proxies.

The real easy punt was first cast of teferi was game. Instead of playing whir which gets hit by so many more counter he should have played tezz minus 4 and won. Screw everything else that was straight win right there
I cannot stress enough how pleasantly surprised and thankful I am that you are actually playing some of the greatest competitive commanders out there and built well, not just a casual deck peppered with raw power.

As long as your library contains a number of cards that is not divisible by five, you can in fact stack your library with Lim-Dul's vault, however it would take an amount of time that puts Shaharazad to shame

Teferi ticks down with Chain Veil out until Teferi dies simultaneously producing enough mana to recast Teferi with multiple extra activations already available from Chain Veil. Then you use that mana to either Stroke of Genius all your opponent for lethal or you can Ugin tick up as many times as you need to.
Great video, guys! Lots of fun to watch the game play shenanigans. And, yeah, Nekusar definitely is not cEDH. It's too slow even with fast mana and mana rocks. I have a Nekusar deck that I enjoy playing and have tried to make it as fast as I can on a somewhat reasonable budget, but I still have games like Vince's game 2 where I'm just trying to get to five mana to cast the darn thing. By then you're probably not winning. I also have a lot of games like Vince's first game where I'm one wheel away from winning and have the wheel in hand and then somebody else wins before my next turn. Happens a lot. But Nekusar was my first Commander deck so I have a soft spot for it and I enjoy constantly tinkering with it to try and make it better.
Cobblepot actually has a nekusar storm deck very similar to the one that Vince was playing. Look it up, he even played it in one of the laboratory maniac cedh videos.
You do realize this is a 99 card format right? While a turn 2 threat is possible, cEDH is about the consistency of getting those cards, but it is not uncommon for games to end at turn 3 or more Try finding druid on turn 1 lol, and before you say use tutors, think first, because that would mean having a tutor in your opening hand.

Biggest punt by crim at 40:00 playing tezzeret, the seeker and -4 would have won him the game as tezzeret dodges most counter spells for 1 as he would as be able to infinite with tezzeret while drawing with teferi
Crim! why you no stasis with Teferi on the battlefield and everyone else tapped out? That was the game in the bag at that point. You can use Teferi to pay for stasis forever and nobody ever gets to untap.

there are zero things you guys can do to convince us you're all not incompetent lol. any time your commander changes zones, you can re-direct it to the command zone. it's not just a "from the battlefield" effect.
Commander cares about colors not only in the casting cost but also in abilities. So since she has the extra combat for WUBRG she counts as five colors. Same reason Ramos counts as five or the Khan legends from fates count as three colors.
@Enrique San Pedro There are some interesting alternatives. Also I should probably specify I mainly mean decks like Tazri food chain infinite, where the combo is so easy to pull. When I say easy i am referring to the simplicity and linearity of what to do with the deck.
Honestly, a lot of what makes cEDH interesting isn't how you execute your concrete win condition, it's how you maneuver throughout the whole game to get into that winning position.
Not infinite combo's just the specific linearness of the foodchain combo in tazri, due to it being it literal only wincon. T!TO i have no clue what you mean, single storm has a different and interesting way to win each time and is literally the opposite of linear.
@@Battleguild Yeah but 2 of the decks at the table are the tier 1 cedh decks general taz and tef are the tier 1 decks in all cEDH with their only rivals being 4 color Breakfast Hulk Thrasios. I personally prefer Staff of Domination + Harabaz Druid + 4 other allies for my General Tazri gameplay.
44:00 Seth never cast his commander so he has no idea about a year old commander change rulings. Lol
Please read this comment I love mtggoldfish you have helped me through some hard times
This is how Commander clash should be. Seth running the show and no Tomer anywhere
Seth, Tomer asked the lab maniacs about mox diamond in this exact situation.
Oh god Vince's clock at the end of game 2 lmao.
Biggest punt by crim at 40:00 playing tezzeret, the seeker and -4 would have won him the game as tezzeret dodges most counter spells for 1 as he would as be able to infinite with tezzeret while drawing with teferi
Yay! Thanks, guys :)
Teferi temporal archamange isn't a stax deck.
Crim! why you no stasis with Teferi on the battlefield and everyone else tapped out? That was the game in the bag at that point. You can use Teferi to pay for stasis forever and nobody ever gets to untap.
Crim! Tezzeret = chain veil! Then activate Veil, Activate teferi, and then use Tezz for value.
So when this season eventually ends and Tomer kicks Vince can we invite Crim? #ripvince
Thanks mate, appreciate the love?
PleasantKenobi Definitely love I enjoy Tomers frustration
I just played commander n was mana screwed the 1st 3 games so i feel ur pain
holy fuck it's competitive week!!!!
The only reason Seth is better known as saphron Olive is because he says he is.
All decks here are tier 1 with nekuzar unfortunately being tier 2.5-2
Here is the comp tier list I use to gauge commanders. tappedout.net/mtg-decks/list-multiplayer-edh-generals-by-tier/#c3425819
The only one that isn't on the top tier is nek.
People are indeed playing spellseeker in food chain legacy.
Pls bring more competitive commander clash. At least one for month
If crime played tezzeret he would have won.
This is the EDH I love sometimes. Just combo craziness when everyone has just 30 minutes for a game lol tappedout.net/mtg-decks/19-02-18-razaketh/ I'd rock out Razaketh with you all!
6:51 for the game
there are zero things you guys can do to convince us you're all not incompetent lol.
any time your commander changes zones, you can re-direct it to the command zone. it's not just a "from the battlefield" effect.
To exile, to hand, to graveyard, to library. It doesn't care about the act of changing zones, it cares about the zone it would go to.
@@TheSpikeFeeders you said the same thing twice.
I love Tomer but this group is epic
@mtggoldfish how is najeela legal for 5 colours, when she is only a red creature?
Commander cares about colors not only in the casting cost but also in abilities. So since she has the extra combat for WUBRG she counts as five colors. Same reason Ramos counts as five or the Khan legends from fates count as three colors.
man, infinite combo in competitive always feels so boring.
Seth, I have an Yidris storm list, would you be interested for a future cedh?
@@guydrinkstea agreed
You say cEDH, but then you play Nekusar.
Nekusar isn't too bad, I've gotten a couple T3/4 wins with him out. Degenerate Wheel/Puzzlebox decks are pretty fun.
@@Battleguild Yeah but 2 of the decks at the table are the tier 1 cedh decks general taz and tef are the tier 1 decks in all cEDH with their only rivals being 4 color Breakfast Hulk Thrasios. Bringing Nekusar is like trying to play a standard deck against a legacy deck, nekusar is like I am trying to kill people by wheeling them on turn 6 and 7. The other 3 decks are going im winning on turn 3-4 with infinite loops that don't draw my opponents cards to stop me.
Mind you all the other decks are literally 2 card combos, with most of them having 1 card as the commander.
Tyler Gehring I’m pretty sure Najeela is tier 1 as well
@@Lucarioguild7 she might become tier 1 but I don't think she is there yet.
I like how Vince took the oppurtunity to show up the comments section by playing a bad deck on competitive week.
Crim could have won right after seth lost
Cast Mana Crypt,
Cast Teferi
-Teferi to untap Island, Crypt, Monolith, Lotus
Cast Tezzeret
-Tezzeret to put chain veil into play
Activate Chain veil
This gives infinite mana and infinite planeswalker activations, providing you get slightly lucky on draws off Teferi's +
Crims so great he should come back more often
Another fun episode
Crim is a GREAT addition
So I went in saying man why is Tomer bringing nekusar to CEDH I know he likes draw but does he just want to get crushed I was then told Tomer was gone and I was like RICHARD YOU MAD MAN, what crazy tribe are trying now. Then when it was left to Vince and he said he was playing Nekusar I was like the fool, did his patron want to punish Seth and Tomer so much for drawing cards they would choose to bring a maybe tier 3 or 4 deck to a tier 1 table.
You gotta appreciate their attempt at playing cedh but man, a little practice beforehand wouldn't hurt. It's like they're 2nd graders seeing magic cards for the first time.
Oh, it’s some awkward magic, but that’s kinda the point.
