    If only cartridges was cheaper. Last 2 years, it has gone up 50% in price for the cheapest here in sweden which is crap. I got the time to shoot, but sadly not enough money to shoot as much as i would like, especially after the price has gone up and up the past 2-3 years which is killing the sport. People dont afford it as they used to.

    • @johnfletcher9907
      @johnfletcher9907 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jimmy Andersson I know what you are saying - here in the UK shooting has an image of being a posh mans sport which is an image the shooting community have been trying to shake for years, but the more the licenses are restricted, and the game seasons become shorter and with more conditions, the fewer people will be able to shoot and more elitist shooting will appear.
      The consequence of fewer people buying guns and ammo, will mean price rises, and then the image of shooting being a rich mans game (which is not currently true), will soon becomes a reality.

    • @Jimmy.JAEGARN
      @Jimmy.JAEGARN 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnfletcher9907 Like 10 years ago, here in Sweden alot of peasants, craftsmen, industry worker etc were shooting clays, but today it turned expensive so its growing towards "men with big pockets" sport, which i hate. There's so many talanted people, but they cant afford it. Sure, pretty much every sport is expensive to do, but with the raising cost of fuel aswell to be able to travel has gone up alot aswell which comes into consideration and for many people its no longer affordable. This actually makes me abit worried and sad at the same time. Im trying to get some friends into the sport "im in the 30s" but when they get the answer how much it cost to be somewhat successfull, they just naah, not for me.

    To bring more people into shooting you’ve got to do two things - convince people it is great fun, demonstrate to them they can afford it.
    TGS does both these things, and pretty much all content looks fresh, modern, and suits the Instagram filtered, magazine cover style lives we all live nowadays. TSC gives great content and it’s informative but not necessarily good for the newcomer.
    To use an example- TSC is like BBC breakfast. TGS is like Good morning Britain. 99% of us would much rather tune into watch sexy Susana Reid, and piers Morgan making vegans squirm. What I’m saying is that TGS your content is appealing to a much wider and younger audience, and that’s way more effective at getting more people into the sport.

    I remember 15 years ago my mate (then in his early 20s) said "why don't you come and have a go?" I told him he was a sad OLD t**t! And that I wasn't an old fogey, anyway he persisted and so I went to try it just the once! Still shooting now and have been ever since. It was seen as an old Mans sport back then and still is and for me there's a couple Of reasons, one being snobbery, when you're young and you see old men driving around in big posh 4x4 cars you think they're snobs, then if you actually meet them old snobs and they are all wearing Tweed you think funk that, that's not for me! I'm sorry to say David that you are guilty of this in some of your videos, in one you talk about shooting lessons and that if you come for a Sporting lesson you'll give then a "Sporting" vest and if you come for a game lesson then you'll give them a "Tweed" vest! What does it matter? Vests a vest! You'll get thrown off a game shoot if you turn up with a semi Auto! Goes bang doesn't it? So long as you clean up your empties after what does it matter? This also gives the impression you need to be rich to be able to shoot which puts people off especially Young 'uns who don't earn a lot. Until people stop acting like it's an old gentlemen's sport it will be seen as one! Or unless Adidas start making Tweed "traccys" to atract a younger crowd! That said it's very clear to see that you're trying to encourage the younger generation David with TSC so respect for that. Great video from you both 👍

    As David mentioned there is alot of old blood in the sport and its not as accessible to younger people especially if they don't come from a family already involved in shooting. I would like to see a company brave enough to go against the norm and sponsor fieldsports getting them into schools etc. Driven days for families and younger shots are also a real opportunity for new blood to join the sport rather than high priced days that only attract people who can pay for them and are out to shoot 100s of birds the emphasis should be on attracting new people to the sport and the social aspects.
