    Little tip for slacklining: I was taught that the brain needs to adjust to the sensation of a moving ground and it works best if you practice 5 mins every day and be consistent with it. Then your brain adapts and tadaa you will be able to walk just fine. Should be fairly easy for you as you are so good with everything else! Always fun to watch 😍🙌🏼

    Slackline? Just to it every day for 2 weeks and it will stay forever. A few tips/notices from me:
    -1. Is it worth trying? Oh yeah, it helped my climbing a lot, and my running a lot. It uses muscles that are hard to train. ;) And also the feeling when you learn it and it becomes chill is fun.
    0. I think you should also try rodeo line, most ppl say it's harder, but honestly, for me it was easier. :) And you can use it as a swing or lie on it. xD
    1. If you start losing control, then do "1/4 squat" or even 1/2 squat - lower center of mass will make it much easier to adjust and find balance again
    2. Straight back! That's the most common mistake. And legs more bent than you want them, straight legs are bad for adjusting mistakes.
    3. Look straight forward, catch one point with your eyes - either the end of the slackline or a point a few meters before you if the slackline is longer than 25m. If you walk rodeo line then it doesn't really matter, but with slackline looking straight forward makes it really easier. Also, don't look at your feet.
    4. Before you learn to move on slackline well, you will use leg muscles a lot and it will be tiring, but after some time you start to chill. The goal is to be loose in hips and upper body.
    5. When you have a slackline basic walking level, then you can basically do a whole circuit just walking, and it is a fantastic way of exercising, it even improved my running a lot... f.e. walk to the middle, do a squat on a slackline, walk to the end, turn around, walk to the middle, do a pistol squat on each leg, walk to the end of line and just do it a few time. Another example... squat at each step, harder stuff: sit on slackline and stand back on it (f.e. using chongo technique), even harder stuff: exposition (standing 90 degrees turned), exposition walks (with crossing legs even harder), one leg exposition... or walking while looking totally to the side, walking while looking at your feet. Oh and also juggling on slackline is easy but juggling while walking a slackline is hardcore. :D

    A tip for the rope that I've noticed most don't do is a technique where you actually use a rope twist as a make shift step to engage your legs as you climb, it made a huge difference when we climbed in the military. Best of luck and keep up the great content!💪

    • @NinjaGodfather
      @NinjaGodfather 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @jkoperski9925
      @jkoperski9925 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey David! Nice Playground!! Nice to see you together with Anton as well! I don't know about these trees but when building a tree house once I learned that no nails should go directly into the tree. So we built a self sustaining construct 'around' the tree.
      Keep up the good work!

    • @NinjaGodfather
      @NinjaGodfather 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jkoperski9925 Thanks! "should" it just depends on the tree and what the use of the tree is. If it's a nice oak tree in your yard then I would generally agree, but a few nails won't hurt a redwood. Professional ropes courses pound U shaped spikes into the redwoods that function as ladders and are made of the same material as these nails. Also and somewhat ironically environmental activists will drive nails into redwoods to break saw blades in an effort to save the trees. Eventually as the tree grows it will envelop the nails.

    Speed in the rope climb is a consistency in being able to raise your knees and hips high and climb up and out of what amounts to a fetal position as fast as you can. But easy to say, way harder and taxing to do. There is a reason they had it as the last challenge with such a short time limit.
