Went out in the morning to check on all my pregnant goats like I have been doing daily. Elsa was very obvious and vocal. She wanted me in the pen NOW! So as I was spending time with Elsa I peak over at Schillie and she was quite obvious as well. She wasn't very loud but she already had a little slime and was quietly talking to me. So here we go!

I have both. My l3 and 4 are bone on bone and my right hip is trashed. I have terrible pain in my feet and hands as well but I just put the deposit down on 3! I have a family that will be helping my dream come true! Sorry you can't.

I haven't watched goats before. We are retired grain farmers in Minnesota. I have been watching Sheepishly Me. I can't believe the difference in size of lambs and kids. So much ❤ shown. I have a new channel to watch.

We just had two does kid. They were also in adjoining pens. As soon as our first doe was done kidding our other doe started pushing. Lol. We were saying the same thing to her “not yet wait your turn”. 😂

Thank you so much for posting this video! I'll be a new goat momma sometime between now and may. Sigh, so long to wait! I'm so excited! I have a medical background but only have experience rounding in OB and peds years ago. While the structures and stages are slightly different the principal is the same. Keep my cool, let her do all the work. Watch for breach babies and definitely be support for first time fresheners. Luckily my does are old hat at this and will probably be teaching ME a thing or two when time comes.
But thank you, thank you for this video. It takes more of the mystery out if it for me.
And, update on my difficult milking doe. She's now easier to catch and no longer shivers in the stancion. But NOW my super experienced doe has started kicking. Ugh. Thinking I might hafta tie down her left hind foot. I've tried getting her udder all clean before giving her snacks while I milk but she still wants to lift that leg. Not necessarily to kick the bucket or me but to just Express herself that she isn't liking being milked. It's almost time to go ahead and let her dry up though as both her and the difficult one are producing less and less each day. At what point should I go ahead and quit milking all together until after they kid?
And, after they kid, when should I start up again?
Glad the video helped! You will do great I have no doubts :). If you are milking a pregnant doe then she needs the last 2 months dry. It will take a lot out of her to produce milk and build those babies strong. As far as when to start milking again, I separate as early as 2 days old and begin milking then. So glad your stinker is behaving but of course your tenured doe is being a stinker!! Haha. I'd just tie her down. Problem solved :)

Yay!!!! Babies!!! They are all so pretty. That Swiss marked buckling is cute! Elsa had very big boys; good thing she is nice and wide. She is so vocal! My FF girl was quiet, to the point of being creepy. Thanks to watching your videos, I knew I would need to help her and how to do what was needed. She had a strapping 6# buckling. She needed help with the second kid as well; another big baby at 5.5#. Sadly the doeling passed. If it had not been for your videos, I could have lost all three. Thank you!!! Kisses to the new babies!!!

That's incredible with Elsa's boy coming out in a split. It's good he didn't get caught up. Would you have had to push him back in? 👍
That was am iotic fluid. I would have had to push him back in and try pulling the legs out but so glad she did it! I was nervous for a second.

I have only had a doe reject a baby once. She had twins. One looked just like her and Cami (one of our does) did not look like her at all. She did great cleaned them up and we went in. When we came out Cami was off by herself and her dam wouldn't accept her for nothing. So Cami became my baby :)
