DO NOT CUT YOUR ORIGINAL HQ BOARD!! 😱
I've reproduced the board on 18mm MDF using printable sticker sheets. I then cut out all rooms and corridors. Intersections are one square past in each direction. When a door appears or intersection I'll place some red painted MDF to encourage the Heros deeper in. Once the heros reach the intersection or open a door I'll place the corresponding room. Quests with layers will be terraced with stair sections. Kellars Keep has 4 layers I think in some quests. This is the best solution I've been able to come up with to maintain the feel of the original board while improving immersion. So far the boards been the easiest part, painting the miniatures, finding the quest characters and making new props is taking months.
18mm sounds pretty heavy. Wouldn't 9mm be enough?
@@spugggaldon361 yes but it'd half the effect. I'm in the process of making the tomb from Kellars keep and with 3 18mm layers I've managed to make the 5 tomb doors in the room all retract into the floor instantly by turning the sarcophagus a couple of degrees

I printed out a board from the site back in the mid 2000s when I worked at a job where I had access to a wide format printer. Then I just mounted it to foam board.
Looks like the sites mainly down now as unable to locate the pdfs

I really have to explain how our system of HQv2 work to generate the quest.
Each quest the map is a bit random but the quest book guide you to have a adventure emulated the the original quest.
And for info who use the double corridor version of the original board

The two chaos\dread warrior room in the trial is still rather deadly in the US version.
