XD I can't describe it, but this had everything I wanted. Classic jrpg nonstop lines in chinese Hall of the mountain king theme in chinese village Temu CHYNA theme in general ... I'm loving it, it was such a nice mixture of everything, that was good. "Animations can make or break the immersion" And that is very true.

I definitely want to see more devlogs as well. Really enjoyed this playthrough

I loved this one, It's really fun, and it takes a while to figure out the right way to play :D

Some additional info : The items you found at the beginning wont do anything that will disrupt the game. The Mountain area is the snow area :D The game is finished and there wont be a content update for it. The last area is a " story" area and you unlock it after defeating the king slime. The real title of the game will be revealed after defeating the 3 guardians.

The Mobs are supposed to respawn :D im glad you found a real boss :D

I loved this submission, btw Ash, it seems like your videos may be a tad off you're reading the dialogue with like a few seconds off

You know on character creation you could house rule how you allocate stat points. Make it similar to the old 90s versions of baldurs gate pc games where by you can roll for your allocation points over and over and over in definately until you reach a point your happy with and then disperse them as you so desire between your attributes. Maybe abit power gamer but atleast your gonna have a fighting chance. Those games back then were notoriously difficult if you took your first roll and it was shit. They were challenging even with 85+ rolls without abit of prior knowledge. No one played like that except before they figured out how to game the system. But that's the nature of games, they're a system. Coming to know the system and finding the path of least resistance isn't cheating its playing the game well

Could reduce maximum health by some quantity upon death, kinda like dark souls. Except unrecoverably unlike dark souls, unless wanna introduce another way to recover it. Maybe if encounter another foe who has big advantage and you win you can regain that lost health maximum potential

Thanks so much for taking a look at it! The engine is super versatile and allows for any visual style you could throw at it. I am constantly surprised by how much is built in. A great engine for sure. Looking forward to continuing development on the project and turning it into a finished game. :D

Cool game with lots of potential! 😍😍 I love how you had an additional option to talk to the sheep as an artist, I didn't even notice that in my warrior playthrough! 9:32 I think labeling a companion as "emergency food" is an Anime trope (like in Excel Saga and One Piece), in this case it's a reference to Paimon from Genshin Impact because in that game she also keeps the player from exploring locked areas :D

Did you ever improve upon this at all? I've got all the originals and trying to work out a way of getting it all into one box. I presume I'll need to buy a bigger box.. but if i get could get them all into one solution it would make my life so much easier as we usually play at a friend's place

lol, when I use a green screen that close my hair disappears. Having white hair it reflects the green too much. If it is further away it’s not so bad, but on a chair it’s too close to work well for me unless I wear a wig or a hat.

Thank you for another fun video! It's good to know that the game can be played out of order and still be enjoyable. In response to your closing message, I'd be interested in seeing more RPG in a Box stuff... Especially devlogs! Seeing how other devs create games is always intriguing to me. Other than that, I also like the way you do tutorials, so more of those would be fun to watch. Your livestreams are enjoyable too, but it's understandable if you can't find the time for that.

Why does my Bakin engine only have 1 dam sprite "default" 2D when it loads? is this normal? you made all this sound so simple and easy! dam...I'm lost in all these steps!

EYYYY! Just what I was asking for in the icons video! We get more in this series and it becomes a real good reason to buy for a cohesive look in a variety of styles. Can't wait to see more!

Best dlc pack so far imo

Always exciting to see new DLC, even though it's almost always a hit or miss for me and never something in between. But I'm happy for those who found what they were looking for with this pack. I guess that means that DLC are not shown off anymore on the official Bakin channel itself? I hope it saves them some time and work if that's the case, that way everyone can watch these showcases with their favorite ambassador of their own choice instead

Good to see some more assets coming out. Would love to see more of those Pixel Stylized DLCs, or more characters with portrait assets. Keep'em comin' Ash!

Faith No More is playing in main menu. It's a pretty popular track, with the exception it's without drums.

Someone's been in a Duke Nukem bathroom before! This engine looks like it might be fun to play around with.

Hit scan enemies are annoying for sure.

Colorblind guy here, there is a type of colorblindness where you see in mostly grayscale except for some very light shades of color. However, only one woman in history has been documented to have it as far as I'm aware. Pure grayscale is more common, but still extremely uncommon. Either way, it's obviously a video game so it doesn't have to be that accurate! I haven't heard of this EasyFPS thing before but it looks super interesting. Watched your other video about the editor too and it seems pretty intuitive. Cool stuff happening with game dev tools!

Are the video recordings too shaky? Do you get a full front view of the road?

The gameplay got pretty deep! I could easily see this as a fully finished product. Im curious how much time it took to make. The secret area are such a good classic and seemed to give actual bonuses we'd want!
