James Mennenga for me dive bomb isn’t a problem. You can easily superman dive/foresight slash/tank it with shield. For me it’s left jab, right jab, head combo and then shoulder slam that he can just chain randomly. My point is that his fast attacks deal way more damage than they should. You can always spec into defence and survivability but that will make fight longer and increases chance to cart. I try to take every AT solo and with Nergi I did sleep bomb. Not proud of it but it’s what my hunting skills allows me for.

I finally downed him on my third attempt an hour ago, but Jesus...he's like if someone built the perfect boxer in a lab by combining Muhammad Ali with Mike Tyson. His claw swipe should NOT do that much damage! You can't react to it!

For anyone who doesn’t know, those side-steps have extra i-frames. The same goes for Gunlance, Lance, and SA side-hops, so it would definitely be beneficial to get used to using them especially for CB.

I've reached MR 200+, but I've never solo killed AT Nergi before Iceborne came. But after watching this I came back to him with my HR gear, and learned a few tricks from you, that I used to fight him head on. I finally did it in 35 mins. Thanks for this!
Well I was gonna switch to bow for when AT nerg comes back later this week but you've inspired me to take my favorite weapon and give it a go, I don't have all the gamma stuff yet but I have a strong understanding of how cb works, and learned two things off you that I was doing wrong. Watching this after Iceborne's release just goes to show how amazingly well they did with the CB changes in Iceborne. This used to be the only way to play optimally - now it's incredibly diverse in builds, moveset usage, etc.

I noticed more experienced hunters like you use slight movements left and right more-so than up and down when looking around. Positioning is hard. Thanks for your help.

You absolutely should! I'm mediocrely good at CB and I downed him today with the help of Health Boost 3, Divine Protection 2, AND Fortify because he's just so goddamn fast that I can't reliably miss his attacks
What kind of weapon is this?? It reminds me of switch axe. I played from the first mh (ps2) until mhp3rd (psp). But this mh now is really convenient with tracking, gathering and hitbox. They r so clean and precise. And also the terrain and weapon and dodge movement. Damn, so good.. I want to play. But sadly can't afford the console. Oh and I always finish the whole game. I am practically expert with sa, and good on many other melee weapons, i am noob in using range weapon tho. Oh time sure flies.
it's called charge blade. it base of sword and shield and can morph to switch axe shape but you walk like carrying gs while turn to axe. your shield can be charge by filling up the coating bottle and do the specific move. same goes to the blade(see the video how the user do it). this is the latest mh game, Monster Hunter World.
how do you get 1300 att in map? I have same customized weapon same skill sets, same 3 buffs from potions, but I only get 1100 att in map(with food buff too of course)
