This is my alcoholism. Alcohol made me charming, friendly, outgoing, and generous. Nobody seemed to notice I was constantly buzzed or drunk. Then when I got sober I became much more introverted and introspective. It's sad, but being healthy is worth it.
Something about Hemingway being a better writer when he was drunk. This is my alcoholism too. I have 4 modes: Happy: When I'm drinking Unhappy: Hangover Happy: When my hangover is converting to full sobriety (Feels like I'm really accomplishing something Unhappy: Sobriety I don't really believe this cycle can continue, but I'd like to think it can. I can be sober for a while, but I'm always just building up to when I can let loose again.
Another way to see this is if you become dependent on drugs to give you a personality you lose your social skills, meaning he doesn't drink because he is boring , he became boring because he drinks(from experience) can anybody confirm ? 😊
This episode has only gotten worse with time. As a recovering alcoholic I hate this episode. The group gets Bobby to admit his problem then quit. Then they don’t like him anymore cause he’s not fun anymore. Then the gf who made him quit breaks up with him cause he’s not fun anymore and his “friends” abandon him. Disgusting message
Dude...who the hell takes life lessons from a sitcom? It's a satirical take on life. Stop pretending for the world to walk around eggshells because YOU fucked up and became and alcoholic. You are getting out for your own sake. You're not making the world a favor. It was your fuck up, and now your battle. Accepting that will help you.
That's literally not what happened. Plus, nobody is obligated to cater to others. This goes for alcoholics and recovering alcoholics too. Bobby wasn't fun without a drink and nobody wants to be around alcoholics.
People excusing this episode are intentionally obtuse. God this was an awful episode. They get an alcoholic to admit they have a problem and quit. When he does quit, they realize a Sober Bobby isnt as fun and abandon him. The hypocrisy of the whole group, the shaming him with or without, it just wasnt funny. It was mean spirited and made me dislike everyone, especially Monica. I try to forget this episode exists tbh.
Friends characters have flows, and it shows in many episodes. That's why we love them and why we relate to them. That's my opinion. Anyway, there are no hardware stores open past midnight in the Village
Hmmm, i am sober fun Bobby. That's why in hang outs I'm always just there laughing and enjoying the company. I am not funny or have anything interesting to say 😂
Yall need too stop worrying abt what happend with fun bobby. Monica did what was right for him and then he said she had an alcohol problem and broke up with her (yes she was deinking much more too tolerate his dullness) but it is unrealistic so the chances that he drank for fun and that he wasnt an alcoholic where high as alcoholism takes a while too get over and recover you dont just quit. As well they dont treat alcoholics like that as chandler was a massive alcoholic and drug user so stop being so sensitive around it.
This is true for most alcoholics (drug abusers) tho they drink to escape their dull self its not the real solution ofc and i don't think the show has any responsibility to highlight that
@@chak9360 i agree. The show did say “if you drink your dull if not ur not” but it was clear fun bobby wasnt an alcoholic. He drank because he didnt want to be dull yet he could stop meaning he isnt an alcoholic.
@@chak9360 that was never confirmed but i am sure you are correct but if he was an alcoholic he wouldn’t have been able too quit for those few days as he did
Bobby was actually Matthew Perry. RIP ❤
And he was dealing with alcoholism while filming this episode that made light of alcoholism.
@@12milestyle I think that's what they were saying
fun bobby looks like Conan O'Brien
More like Russ
It was him
That would've been hilarious given Lisa Kudrow dated him.
Chandlers reaction is so princess 2:07
Lol 2 week anniversary. Only teens have those.
Well it was the 90s ...nothing much to do after work

@@ForOrAgainstUs it's extremely alcoholic behavior to imagine you are Hemingway. You are not.
@@sallyspits I completely agree. I'm just saying that I'm better pretending I'm Hemingway than being myself....

I used to drink because I find other people boring. Now I don't drink, I'm boring.

You packed a shit ton of "poor me" in there.
Actually, he broke up with her, because she started drinking to tolerate his dullness.
Absolutely.

what messed up is that they rely on bobby for fun for years but hold it against them when he needs their support. a warning.
