Joey was me at one point, my friend was Ross. Difference is I agreed with 'Ross'; I just got irritated when he wouldn't stop mentioning it and talked to me like a child.
This scene is pretty realistic, I've seen it happen between friends before. Things can get ugly. I'd be a bit wary of people who overvalue themselves in times of urgency.
Ah, realist vs dreamer. On the one had, if Joey wasn't a dreamer, he never would have gotten that job in the first place. On the other hand, now that he's down on his luck, it's not a good time to get egocentric and turn down jobs. You have big bills to pay. You can't just 'wait for the next big part' anymore. It's alright to keep chasing after it, but in the meantime you do need to pay what you owe. The hard part is not letting go of your dream while you come to terms with the demands of reality. You can have both, with some luck and a lot of determination, but it won't come to you easily. Ross was right here. He didn't expect Joey to stop acting nor did he look down on him. He just knows that he needs to pay what he owes, which means swallowing your pride and taking any jobs that come your way.
Earlier in the episode, or maybe in a previous episode, Joey starts using more advanced words, and when questioned, he says he bought a word-a-day toilet paper. Every sheet has a new word for you to learn.
Joey is in my opinion, the best "friend" due to his loyalties and sacrifices, but this really showed his flaw. He thought he was too good because he got a leading role, which was tainted as it was the result of sleeping with a producer.
@@chibitoodles5351 Wtf does that have to do with anything, "sweetheart"? Are you saying that Friends isn't supposed to be funny, because it's a sitcom?...
Ross was always ready to say what needed to be said even if people hated him for it. He was also really sweet and always there to help his friends.
That's what a real friend is. He is not a useless 'yes' man.
Its like two sides u have
Ross was actually being a good friend here. You should want people close to you to be brutally honest when you are messing your life up.
Doesnt always work, at least in my experience, not that the opposite works either
This scene is a little sad, very realistic and could be easily in a drama.

Joey was being an ass here. And it’s especially bad cause it’s his own fault
He's in denial.
I was Joey Tribiani! That was huge!! - - Matt Leblanc
Had Chandler been there he would have said, "Its alright. Dont be cab driver now. You will become a real cabbie soon."

Ross is correct here Joey could just take that too earn some money and pay

Love this scene
Estelle was hilarious
This is definitely one of Joey's worst moments.
What does Ross meant by "toilet paper"????
Earlier in the episode, or maybe in a previous episode, Joey starts using more advanced words, and when questioned, he says he bought a word-a-day toilet paper. Every sheet has a new word for you to learn.
@@riogabs he didn't buy it, Chandler gave him the "word of the day" toilet paper
Which episode is this?
But he was dr after sleeping with someone

I like Friends, but there was not a single funny thing in this entire vid...
Its a sitcom, not a fairytale, sweetheart.
