New cars periodically appear on iRacing and deserve to be raced and crashed into walls because they're awesome. The Ford GT is a legendary race car with a beautiful style and drives fast and furious. It can be hard to control at first, but give it some time and you'll find yourself flying through corners and rocketing down straights. This iRacing video review shows Ford GT gameplay being used in iRacing race car simulator.

Oulton Park is coming along soon too - 9 weeks hopefully, Tsukuba and Motegi have been scanned. I was hesistant about the US centric nature, but it's refreshing, some of them are very good tracks.
Oh, if you like orange-and-black racing liveries, there is a Ford GT-LM in this year's Hot Wheels Thrill Racers: Raceway sub-series that's orange with black and white stripes. And the new recolour of the 2011 Hot Wheels Muscle Mania '68 El Camino is also orange-and-black.

@sporkafife Those are easy tracks to get a contract for, the iRacing scanners went to Interlagos. Customs in Brazil rejected their equipment. Then Montreal was almost ready to be done at the last moment the government canned it. But we do have a lot of tracks from around the world. 6 of the 12 tracks on the F1 Grand Prix series this season are out of the USA. Thats the great thing about iRacing that beats rFactor 2. They won't rest until we have every great track in laser scanned detail.
@mobobber this ford gt has had its interior and exterior(body) altered. therefore its running a standard racing speedometer.
@MahvidsFTW I know I was kidding x.x I'ts just the graphics in this game is so beautiful. The scenery is really well done.

@sporkafife Agree'd in that they need more tracks from around the world (especially England, Italy and Asia in general), but don't discount the American tracks, just because they're American doesn't mean they're worse tracks. Also they will most likely never be able to scan Monacco, its a street circuit, they can't close the streets for 2 weeks whilst they scan it.

Classic game room is incredible. So was my reaction.
@sporkafife problem is they have to laser scan the tracks, a lot of tracks aren't willing, and it's expensive to do so. Monaco is also a street circuit and not possible to scan. Nurburgring is too big, and would be too costly to scan.
iRacing has Spa, Suzuka, Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Zandvoort Phillip Island and Okayama from abroad. Yes tracks like Lime Rock are boring, but there's no denying that Watkins, Road America, Road Atlanta, Sebring, Mosport are some of the best in the world.

most people make the steering wheel invisible, since you require your own steering wheel and hands to race in iRacing.
the sound effects are better than GT5!xD
The only problem I see with iRacing (especially as I live in Britain) is that a lot of the tracks available right now are American tracks that are less well known across the globe. Laguna Seca is fine, but I couldn't care less about Lime Rock Park, Lanier Speedway and the vast array of boring oval tracks.
I think iRacing will be alot better when it includes tracks like Nurburgring, Tsukuba and maybe even the Monaco GP circuit ;)
I've heard he El Camino can haul a few flamethrowers as well.

iRacing looks neat, but I can't bring myself to pay-per-month for games. If it came on a disc to slide into the XBox, that would be fine :)

@sporkafife i thought the same way at the beginning but the american road tracks are great. much better as the new f1 tracks like china. and there is silverstone, spa, suzuka, brands hatch. but most of the f1 tracks a too long for slower cars.

Wow this game looks beautiful, too bad the in-car view blocks off about 70% of the scenery just leaving the dark insides of the car.
@sporkafife Yupp they should add more international and domestic tracks. International tracks like Nordschlief, Tsukuba as you said, Monza, Monaco and as well as more well known domestic tracks like Road America and Road Atlanta rather than boring ovals.....

@jincorvaia No man, surprisingly easy to run. Games like Shift 2 and Dirt 3 need waaaay more power than this. If you can run either of those two, you've got more than enough horsepower for iRacing...

@jghinkle If I pay for game on Xbox it's mine, I don't rent things. Plus, it's all online and pretty much all the time i'm out with my laptop i don't have internet. It's not the cost, it's the system. Personal preference mate. I have nothing against it, it's just not the way I like to do things.
The music he uses in this review sounds familiar to me, but I can't tell where it comes from. I'm pretty sure it comes from an old school videogame, surely it's a remix. Anyone?

@sporkafife Yet I bet you'll go ga-ga over Oulton Park when it's released. Lime Rock is to Laguna Seca as Oulton Park is to Silverstone. Get it? In case you haven't noticed, iRacing is an American based racing sim, so where would you expect them to base their content? How many years of sim-racing have we endured while developers concentrated nearly 100% of their content toward Euro-centric tracks while completely ignoring North American tracks?
@johnmorisi8 this is what you would see if you were driving it in real life. the game is made to be realistic
pay 1 time for basic cars and tracks pay again each time you want a new car or track!

Every racing game should have motion blur, it gives a much better feeling of speed (the graphics are otherwise nice though).
Can't comment on the gameplay, I'm not a fan of subscription-based games...
Getting the top comment is so mainstream.
