- Raqib Shaw is an Indian-born, London-based artist whose extraordinary paintings feature rich colours and intricate detail.
The artist’s works evoke the Old Masters, such as Hans Holbein and Hieronymus Bosch, as well as reflecting the ornate style of Persian miniatures and Kashmiri and Japanese textiles.

This man knows who and what he is, what he is about, what he wants to achieve, and he is very serious about it. Nothing silly or crazy about it really.

He's like a caricature! I can't tell if he's genuinely like that or if he's trying to play the part of a wealthy eccentric artiste. Whatever it is he's probably fun to hang out with, in small doses.
I'm not a fan of his art, but it IS pretty fascinating. I love him! His enthusiasm, clarity, philosophy, and what is behind the art, if that makes sense. He makes me feel more confident about making art myself, so if he wanted to live a life that inspires people, he did it. I'd like to see his stuff in person.

It's interesting how he keeps wondering about what's the worthy way of living. IMHO none of us needs anyone else's approval and no one needs to like your art/products. If it makes you happy and you're not harming anyone else, then live to your heart's content.
