That gunk with the 800 grit is the plastic. If yours are really bad use 500 800 1000 1500 2500 then 3 or 3500 grit. It’s a longer process but works great for really really bad shaped headlights with bad pitting. But the best tip is spend extra time on the 2000 and 3000. Actually I’m pretty sure these kits skip and go to 1500 to 3000. You can do this by hand for anyone reading this but it does take a bit longer

I’d like to see initial video paired with a “here it is 6 months later” A lot of headlights restorers make it look great the same day but few make them look good for years. Sylvania has their kit by hand and it’s been a few years since I put it on my truck and it still looks *good* not new but good
Any kits that work with sand paper will last a good while the polish is just to protect them from pitting again. The kits that don’t work is the ones that’s just a polish or a wax them suck and are a pure waste of money
I used this kit as well and the results were very pleasing. Mine didn't have the sandpaper that can connect to a drill though. Had to do it manually but I didn't mind that.
How much time did you spend with each sandpaper disc on each light? P800? P1500? P3000? Blue sponge polish? How did you know whether you did it enough?

And I agree with what you said about you only pick what is available I totally agree with that. I am lucky that I have an AutoZone and a Advanced auto right near me and they both have griots garage Products. I am going to have to try out some of their spray wax’s and detailers. Keep up the excellent videos I really like them

I just wanted to say I tried the s100 carnauba paste wax . This stuff is great are you do is apply it and wipe it off you do not even have to let it dry To wipe it off. I was thinking about the p 215 carnauba paste wax. It says its 100% carnauba. I thought a paste wax could not be 100% carnauba.

I just did my dad’s car headlights with NuLens. This is the truth. It was quick and easy.
I used this same kit on my vehicle and it works awesome. Best thing to do is to clear coat them after.

Ive used the mothers plastic polish all by itself, cleaned with a clay bar first. Then buffed by hand and worked perfect!. Im also in South Florida.

I use 3m. There headlight restoration system is $13 on Amazon. Basically the same stuff with less polish. Great video!

Yah the Meguiar's heavy duty is done by hand as well and works wonders.
Quick tip; use masking tape to protect areas of the car from getting scratch. I use this kit it really works. 👍

😅if there is any old clear coat on to begin with, that little kit will not be very effective. It must come off. Not easy.
Suggest after spray with clear coat. Meguiar's makes a headlight clear coat or can use clear coat made for plastic.
