I was just coming here to say that:). Lovely channel Elin, love your home and your jewellery too, I know that beats the purpose but there's no reason I cannot appreciate good things when I see them. Also, as a striving minimalist I am .trying to use up my good stuff and enjoy them while I can.
Yes! I'm sentimental about make up! I actually only wear it on special occasions now, but I still have the lipstick I used on my wedding day 21 years ago. It's ridiculous. I have photos with me wearing it. I don't need to keep it! It would probably give me some kind of skin infection now.
Yes to everyting on this list! Add products that you tried but didn't like, or purchased greater quantity than needed for a very specific one-time task (household chemicals, personal care items, "extra" hardware bits & bobs).
Inspiring video as always! Here is an idea for those tote bags: put your donations in them and bring them filled to your donation center. Charities are always happy to get them as they give them to the purchasers or sell them for a few pennies. Practical for everyone!
I like to use all those reusable totes for putting my things in that I want to donate and get rid of. They’re great for that because then you don’t need to use a plastic bag and also the donation center or second hand store can use them to put people’s purchases in.
I like to store Tupperware with the lid, although it may take up more space, it keeps things organized and I only have about 6 that are glass because I hate that the plastic ones get stained. I never have to buy any ever again unless they break
I keep makeup for years. I thin it out occasionally, but I like variety in shadows, blushes, and lipsticks. I change mascara every 3 months. Lip glosses with a wand that goes back in, eww germs. They are my germs, but those get discarded pretty often. I❤makeup. It's my creative outlet! 😊
Oh tech! I actually found a cord for something we needed yesterday (it was a weird ended cord for my husband's beard trimmer). I've now labelled the cord for future reference and am trying to do that for any new tech we get. It also helps if tech gets old or broken and you get rid of it because you can immediately identify the cord that needs to go too!
A few days ago, I sent a big box of hangers I didn't like or wasn't using to goodwill. You're right, I like my closet a lot more. Next up, electronics. Thanks for the reminder.
These are great! Here's another one, after the holidays: candies that people gave you that you'll never eat. I had to get over feeling guilty about tossing it.
I consider myself a pretty good declutter-er and sat down to watch this video after having spent an hour doing a little New Year reset. I had to keep getting up from the sofa, as you brought up item after item that I'd forgotten to go through! My donations pile has grown by two throw blankets that I haven't used in a year and my trash bag is fuller than it was an hour ago. 😅
Thank You Elin! So many great reminders~ A few years ago I donated or pitched ALL my hangers. I purchased 3 or 4 sets of matching white hangers from the dollar tree. My closet looks SO much better! It elevates your clothes just a bit and feels more organized. Don't forget to de-clutter as you re-hang : )
I'm struggling to throw away a damaged dog bed at the bottom of my closet because my Cinnamon passed away in 2021 and she was laying in it all the time. 😭 Yes, paper clutter is just crazy. I'm going to sort stuff & digitalize other stuff if it doesn't need thrown away. I despise when people in my family save takeout menus and condiments. It's so annoying. It's more unnecessary clutter. It effects the house poorly. I can't afford new clothes so I wear a ton of worn out t-shirts from other family members. I'm running out of pj pants but the price holds me back. Lids & Tupperware not matching up or disappearing is so frustrating. Butter containers are annoying too. Might be only a Spanish thing but my Mom saves so many.
I recently decluttered my sock and underwear drawers. Why do we keep some things so long ?! 😄 It's a amazing what we can let go of when we put our emotions aside. I tend to overthink things when decluttering. You are a great motivation for me ! Thank you ❤
Good timing! Just went through my sock drawer and it’s full of rejects! and I really only wear four pairs! And - 3 slotted spoons - I don’t even cook that much, so there’s one and I’ll just use a sieve for bigger jobs. I’ve never used make up other than eye liner and lip gloss but I’m really appalled at the excessive plastic packaging. I’m sure people are paying more for the harmful packaging than what’s actually inside! This industry really needs to clean up their mess. Thanks for this💜
Hello Elin! I wish you a happy new year! 🎉 The thing with the colors is a strange matter. I know that light colors are good for repairing mistakes, dark colors are not so ideal. I got into the habit of storing the colors in a jam jar. So I can see 1. what color it is 2. the bucket can go away and I only have a little left over that calms my color conscience😂 thx U 4 reminder!
Yes! I’ve kept makeup, hand moisturizers well past the suggested expiration date.🙄 But in recent years, I’ve been better about replacing old products and using stuff up before buying/opening another. Happy New Year! 🎊
I recently found out about your channel. I love it so far. And just a suggestion that i think it would be nice if you could add timestamp and or sections. ❤ I do not speak english and i would appreciate if you have subtitles. Im loving the pace and the calmness of the videos so far! Have a great day! 🤍
It's so amazing that you're a minimalist and your surname is Lesser, it's like it was in the stars)

I recently read that community pantries are eager to get them.
Yes! We do this and are gradually working through our stockpile of bags as we're on a massive decluttering mission at the moment ,😊

I store all my containers with their lids. It helps so much in ease of use and also helps me keep track of the lids.
Yes! So smart
Also guilty of keeping old makeup for too long 😅

Bring them to work. I'm sure at least one of your colleagues will appreciate it. I certainly would 🤤😋

Haha that’s awesome!!
Mm Sox make good cleaning rags then. Throw away when dirty I am in a one bedroom apt and prefer not to wash the rags but you could

Totally agree! :)
Oh that's so nice. I got two different colored hangers & they're dark. It bothers me. It's a minor peeve.
Great list and good reminder to just through the condiment away before it clutters up a drawer. 😅
I’m totally with you on getting attached to stuff and keeping it based on its original value or expiration date! Thanks for these reminders 😊

Thanks for the reminder that it has an expiry date.

We do keep things SO LONG 😂

Omg yes to the dog toys! A few years ago I found an old bone at the bottom of the toy chest and it very obviously had been eaten by bugs 😅

I just decluttered my utensil drawer. Only a few things got the boot, but I can close the drawer now

Thank you! Great ideas!
This was wonderful! Hope you have a wonderful 2024 and your health improves this year!!❤❤❤
I just stated getting Merit coz of you. You rock girl 🎉
I just went through my drawers and closet! Great timing!
Reminded me of a couple items…thanks
Super good! Spot on. Thank you Erin ❤
I use my totes to hold donation items and just deliver the items and the bag and go
You are so lovely and so full of facts ❤
Condiments - GUILTY!😂
Happy New Year Erin! Im working on the old paint too!
I encourage everyone to go through the medicine cabinet and toss old things. Thanks for the kitchen gadget thought.
Well, I know this is off-topic, but what is your skincare regime? Your skin is amazing. Thanks!

@hellochako press the CC button by tapping the video. That will help with learning English :)
I have been blessed with lots of socks so I wash them all together about every four months.
Everyone says Tupperware
That is a brand name if it is truly Tupperware you can buy replacement or get replacements if lids cracked
Sorry Elin.
