    Considering the shop will charge you 50-100 bucks to swap out sights, you could save the money you might have spent anyway by getting the tool. Charge your buddies the price of the shoe for their firearm and then you get to hang on to it. Trying to do this job with a hammer and a punch is folly, almost guaranteed to mark up the slide, and trying to do it with a cheap one-fits-all pusher from that shopping website might cause more frustration and hassle than you bargain for, especially if you run into some really tough sights. I am interested in doing my own work, so I recently bought one for myself from Brownell's. Thanks for the vid and I subscribed, every little bit helps!

      100% I had a buddy with a p320 and had sold both of mine, so I told him if he paid for the shoe I could do it for him, and he was stoked. Its an easy way to add shoes to your collection for sure! I am glad you enjoyed the review and thank you for the feedback!

      @@faithkillsfear just curious, why spend the money on so many shoes when the tool is designed to be universal and the shoes are not really needed to secure down the slide?

    • @faithkillsfear
      @faithkillsfear  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joshsherwood1879 yes the slide could in theory be secured by just the side pads, but there would be nothing keeping the slide locked down. So if you get a really stubborn sights the slide would twist. The slide shoes really are the key and the side pads are really there to support them; not the other way around.

    Just got mine, initially $451 with 7 different shoes, I have been using a P500 Pro which it is horrible to set up and not easy to work with, time consuming and in the end damaged the slide in my new Walther PDP Pro setting in Night Fision real sight, double pissed because the damage I cause which unsure if I can fix or make it look not so horrible and for the price I have to invest now on this tool, but hopefully that wont happen again to another slide, I just regret I did not had it from before, I used the P500 pro several times since 2015 and was content with it but like I mention it is not that easy to work with although it does not requires any extra accessory; all slides sit flat on the plate and are held from sides and top, it is because of how difficult to adjust that I ended up damaging the slide by a miscalculation

    Are the Turning Knob for the shoe sold Separately as well ?

      @@Jack8_2011s idk if it is sold separately, but the knob for the shoe comes with the tool and is used with each of the different slide shoes.

    I read something about brass washers ?

    • @faithkillsfear
      @faithkillsfear  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are brass washers on either side of the pushing block.

    how is the new sight centered i.e., do you measure and mark the slide? Also, what is your method for sighting in? Do you have to use the sight pusher to make adjustments (left/right) while sighting in? I am thinking getting the sight perfect and having sight alignment takes a bit and is not just push the sight on and your done. Thank you.

    • @faithkillsfear
      @faithkillsfear  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sig7798 I use a micrometer to make sure it is centered. If I make it centered then I consider it sighted in. If every shot is landing left, it’s more likely my bad marksmanship vs the sight being off. Lol

    Any idea if they make a shoe plate for Wilson combat edc x9?

      @@digitalgoonie I don’t know. But I buy all of mine through Brownells and I would check there. A lot of the 1911 slides work with the universal 1911 slide shoes

    Do you have to take off a Red dot for it to work on the rear sights?

    • @faithkillsfear
      @faithkillsfear  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That likely is pistol dependent but in most cases I would say yes.

      It was cut and coated by Floyd’s custom shop. “Fkf10” is a good code for their site

      @@faithkillsfear You mentioned S&W, and it actually was one of their front sights that motivated me to buy it. That shoe that holds the slide in place is brilliant
