Saw this yesterday on my birthday. Such a good film, I love that the xenomorph was rarely seen. In Space, no one can hear you scream. I just left seeing The Mummy as well.
That’s awesome! Alien had a Perfect cast, story, effects & monster design no wonder it’s so highly praised now. Hopefully my city will have screenings for me to check out
No other film has had more of an impact on me than Alien. Unfortunately where I live it's not showing in Theatres but I'm stoked that you managed to see it on the big screen. Can't wait for the live stream with RMB!
I got to catch this last night at my local cinema and I had a good time with it. I've seen this film many times so I wasn't going in blind by any stretch, but seeing it on the big screen was different for some moments the shots of the ship and its scale hit differently along with the shots of the planet, derelict ship, and space jockey. Other scenes I didn't hit as well such as the scenes with Dallas in the air ducts and the first encounter with the xenomorph. However the great scene if Kane's death was great John Hurt really hit it out if the park. It is interesting you bring up how this film not only hits today given so many try to inmate it, but also from the era this film came from as far as level of violence Jaws had happened like two or three years prior to this but you didn't see things like all the time. As far as an environment that just conveyed such menace right away even for haunted house films which Alien at its core is stuck in a haunted house, most audiences would look at House on Haunted Hill with Vincent Price which was years ago others might say Legend of Hell House with Roddy McDowell which was a little closer to this. Other elements of the story like Ash not only turning on the crew but being a robot that could be trusted was far more common in film but I think Hal from 2001 was the closest you'd get to this the dread and danger. Overall still holds up all these years later and given the teaser for Alien Romulus is apart of the package if this doesn't get you hyped for that film nothing will.
Yes, Paulie! Alien has always been the better film. It was the epitome of "suspense horror." AlenS was much more about the action. I'm glad you caught it in theaters and enjoyed it :)
My favorite movie of all time.
Classic!
One of the greatest movies of all time.
agreed!

Yes! Great insight! That ship always freaked me out. John Hurts scene was devastating!

Yes it’s the best film for sure!
On TH-cam, people can "ONLY" hear you when you scream. 😂😂😂
OMG I think I’m gonna have to borrow that one!
PAULIE; ALIEN IS JAWS IN SPACE
Yes Ridley referred to Jaws and other 70s classic in the interview they showed before the film
