- Large Pink and Gold DIY Textured Wall Art
In this painting I am doing a really fun textured piece of wall art! I am using spackle and some texture tools to create arches over this 18 x 24 inch canvas. I used some shades of pink and gold to finish the arches and then did a very pale, almost white background. I LOVE how this one turned out and it is already sold.

I find if you leave the glue a few seconds to get tacky, then apply the gold leaf and push into the space, give it a couple of minutes to dry and then rub away the excess, you get a really nice finish.

Love this series! Quick question: do you mix the paints with anything? Pouring medium or gloss gel? I am so in love with this technique. 😍
Thank you! No, I do not mix the paints with anything. Just straight out of the tube!

Peace. Eye Love Your work and Eye've tried a few textured pieces myself. Do you or have you had any issues with the spackle breaking off while you paint it?
I have with one kind of spackle that was really cheap and not good quality. But most of the spackle that I've used I haven't had issues with it breaking or cracking.
May Eye ask the brand of spackle that you use?
No Words!! You did an awesome job!! The colors your using to paint The arches what type of paint is that is it acrylic and what? What brand is it or what type of paint do you use beautiful stunning!!
This was acrylic paint a pink color from Matisse and then I added some white to change the shade.

Love this! How did you smooth out the lines (after the arches overlapped) to make them so clean?
I just use my hand/fingers to clean up the lines.

Yes I think impasto would be thick enough to work.

Thank you! Modeling paste would work but I also use spackle, so whatever you have available to use.

Thank you, this is a larger 18 x 24 inch canvas and I am using spackle.

Paint after it is all dry.
What are the colors that you used?
What size sparkle did you buy for that size of canvas?
I don't measure it out but I buy a lot of 32 ounce containers and that lasts for a few paintings.

I let it dry for a day before painting the color.

So far I haven;t had issues with cracking. Modeling paste is more of an artist grade item. Spackle is for construction/home.

You can send out the lumps once it is dry and smooth out the piece.
