why don't we have poetry in Somali language. I encourage Somali artist sisters/ brothers out there who want to share their talents but it's not authentic if it's all in English. That is exactly what colonisation aimed to do. It sucks to know that our language has diminished. Other African cultures have pride. They Preserve their clothes (culture) and they Africanified the English language as opposed to Englishfying the African language. As much as I appreciate being a Somali black woman. I will not say I am proud. It sucks when you don't have much to share in order to represent your heritage. That is why it so easy for me to adapt to other African cultures and black diaspora that don't represent my heritage but represent my Black and Africaness. I really wish we had preserved sources out there about who we are and what our Somali cultures valued. I wonder if there is anyone out there that understands and relates

However there are hugely language barrier among young people in diaspora unless we tackle that we are all lost and that is a big worries. This is what we inherited the horrible civil war
