So many early greats by this band. Golden Country live is amazing!! Great message as well. 157 Riverside Ave live is another banger with a very fun message that a lot of guys can relate to. It's one of those, fellas. 👍
Totally agree with you about Gary. He remains one of the most underrated guitarists of the rock era. I truly missed seeing him the last couple of times I got to see R.E.O. live.
Thanks for checking out this song. It gets overlooked by a lot of reactors, who tend to focus more on REO's later power ballad material. Anything off the live album "You Get What You Play For" is good, and you might also like "Back on the Road Again", which was sung by the bassist Bruce Hall instead of by Kevin Cronin.
REO -- so many terrific tunes. Keep Pushin is a great one. I also like: Ridin' the Storm Out (live), Golden Country, Don't Let Him Go, Roll with the Changes, Take It On the Run. They have a TON of great material. They were often overshadowed by bigger bands like Styx, Queen, and Journey.
This is R.E.O. about 4-5 years before their "Hi-Infidelity" album came out. This is the R.E.O. that I fell in love with before it was cool to love R.E.O.😅
I thoroughly enjoy your channel, I'm an old timer who grew up in the 60's and 70's, so this band was always near my turntable and in my car, regarldless of the album, so you can imagine my 8 track case was the large variety, got to see these guys a couple times once in the 70's and again in the 90's...they never disappoint...Keep Rockin"
This is good ole fashioned mid American rock and roll before REO got schmaltzy and ballad heavy in the 80s. These guys were from the corn fields of mid state Illinois and were huge in the midwest in the early and mid 70s. You guys should react to: RIDIN THE STORM OUT GOLDEN COUNTRY LIKE YOU DO I BELIEVE OUR TIME IS GONNA COME to get more feel of the early hard rockin REO!
REO Speedwagon a hard driving Rock n Roll band from the Midwest. Their 70s material is harder Rock, & in the 80s they were probably best known for their Power Ballads. Check out " Ridin the Storm Out " (LIVE VERSION) & Keep on Rolling, plus Time For Me To Fly from the album You Can Tune a Piano But You Can't Tune a Fish. I saw them open for Aerosmith in 76 & they blew them off the stage. ( Aerosmith drug days & they later redeemed themselves when I saw them in the 90s ).
REO SPEEDWAGON: "Don't Let Him Go" "Tough Guys" "Keep The Fire Burnin'" "I Wish You Were There" "Follow My Heart" "Time For Me To Fly" "Ridin' The Storm Out" (Live)
It would be great if you could check out 'Being Kind Can Hurt Someone' from their live album.....You Get What You Play For. Incredible song that showcases their incredible song writing and guitar work.
Well hello all. I just got here and was looking through the play list of reactions. What a journey, great spread of work covered. I would like to throw out a couple of bands from Canada. We will start with two bands. First a band that started back in 69', and was a force through to the 90'. April Wine, great band and I suggest trying out the song Roller. Next, is a band that only truly was popular in Canada, as they wrote all their songs about Canada or cultural insight. The Tragedy Hip, New Orleans is Sinking. Just like the way you folks do your reviews, you both have a great ear and understanding of how good music is put together. Looking forward to seeing more from you.
Hello fellas, here's a live performance of another one of REO Speedwagon's songs, if interested. "REO Speedwagon - Take It On The Run (Live)" --this song was released on their nineth studio album called "Hi Infidelity" which was released in 1980. The song was written by lead guitarist Gary Richrath and was a huge hit. This album contained 4 US Top 40 hits and sold more than 10 million copies. This was a fun reaction.
Funny this one came up today, I've been wearing my REO Speedwagon concert t shirt all day...great live band too! They have more hits than you can shake a stick at!
REO Speedwagon definitely was a memorable great concert. The one time I went. My girlfriend at the time was an aspiring groupie of REO Speedwagon. She may have gone on to be one. She wasn't around next semester at college. Post card in the mail years later. About 3 girlfriends later.
I hate to be this way, but if you're going to do REO you've got to do songs from the album Live: You Get What You Play For. It captures their sound during this time that they were a kick-ass rock & roll live band far better than these early studio recordings, and they were a much better band then, when Gary Richrath was tearing it up on his guitar and Kevin Cronin was belting it out, than they were later on when he was ballading for radio dollars.
Again, their first 6 albums are really good rock and roll albums! I’m a fan. They were a blues boogie woogie band and they were really good till they hit their 80s soft music which was that’s when when they made their money!
Was just on Airplay Beats' reaction to Bad Company Feel Like Making Love. Paul Rogers was a decent singer. Kevin Cronin was a real top notch singer. Way higher ranking than the great Paul Rogers. To be honest.
Great live band
So many early greats by this band. Golden Country live is amazing!! Great message as well.
157 Riverside Ave live is another banger with a very fun message that a lot of guys can relate to. It's one of those, fellas. 👍
They’d have fun with a good live version of this good ole party song.
F the hall fame😮
Now Gary is a really underrated guitar player and Kevin can belt out lyrics with anyone
Have to agree. Kevin Cronin blessed with serious lung power and control.
Totally agree with you about Gary. He remains one of the most underrated guitarists of the rock era. I truly missed seeing him the last couple of times I got to see R.E.O. live.
I don’t think he was underrated. He had the respect of many greats

Anything off the live album "You Get What You Play For" is good, and you might also like "Back on the Road Again", which was sung by the bassist Bruce Hall instead of by Kevin Cronin.
They also had the best album name: You Can Tune A Piano But You Can't Tune A Fish
Back on the road again is one of my all time ( volume at max ) car driving tunes.
Thank you my REO friend. 62yrs old here… been “Pushing On” for a long time.

"157 Riverside Avenue", "Ridin' The Storm Out", "Roll With The Changes" and
"Time For Me To Fly"
“Golden Country” is another early REO banger. Jr High and High School driving around music. 😁
"Flying Turkey Trot" or something like that...Gary Richrath was an elite level player. Dude's strumming hand was strong.
Great song. Go deeper into thier catalog. You will not be disappointed. Great reaction fellas. Appreciate you 🙏
This is R.E.O. about 4-5 years before their "Hi-Infidelity" album came out. This is the R.E.O. that I fell in love with before it was cool to love R.E.O.😅
Would you guys play Golden Country? Another big hit! From that album
I heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend who said Take it on the Run is a good song.
Love this tune. Relentlessly driving beat.
Time for me to Fly, Ridin the Storm Out.
I seen their 40th anniversary tour awesome haven't missed a beat they are awesome live Great reaction guys rock on

My favorite from REO. One of their very best.
This is good ole fashioned mid American rock and roll before REO got schmaltzy and ballad heavy in the 80s. These guys were from the corn fields of mid state Illinois and were huge in the midwest in the early and mid 70s. You guys should react to:
RIDIN THE STORM OUT
GOLDEN COUNTRY
LIKE YOU DO
I BELIEVE OUR TIME IS GONNA COME
to get more feel of the early hard rockin REO!
REO catalog is a must hear. Thanks for reacting to it!

Sounds of early 80s. Great memories
REO Speedwagon is an old 1920's car. And a great rock band with a great great lead singer.

They have a lot of great stuff. One of my favorites currently is Keep On Rolling. It was a huge hit and it is such a banger.
The best versions of all the early REO are on the live album
REO SPEEDWAGON:
"Don't Let Him Go"
"Tough Guys"
"Keep The Fire Burnin'"
"I Wish You Were There"
"Follow My Heart"
"Time For Me To Fly"
"Ridin' The Storm Out" (Live)

His voice was giving me Lindsey Buckingham in the 'keep pushing' chorus part...kind of a Fleetwood Mac feel to the chorus, too.
Ya, I hear Lindsey type voice in the singer.
@@olly8i completely agree with this one and completely disagree with their phil collins take lolll
@@wait-ing 💯
A nice positive message over some energetic rock music.
REO II is a GREAT album!!!
That guitar at the end was dope n the walking bassline was hot 🔥

Exactly what you’re supposed to play on a Sunday morning!!!👍👏 good job!
Thumbs up!
Gotta do Golden Country. A song written 50 years ago about the troubles of this nation and it's eye-opening how little has changed.
This is the 1980 “Decade of Rock and Roll” remix of the original Cow album version

You get a thumbs up for the Mustang II logo.
@@elmerkilred159 That logo goes back well before the Mustang II.

Anything off Decade of Rock and Roll-- Golden County, Music Man, Lightning, Only the Strong Survive.....
You guys should play a few other songs from REO Speedwagon like, KEEP ON LOVING YOU, CANT FIGHT THIS FEELING and TAKE IT ON THE RUN. ❤
LIVE version even Better! Great stuff....Gary Richrath amazing guitarist! Although I heard he was a "Human Hoover" with the cocaine haha..
157 Riverside live. Can't miss

Don't forget to Boogie children 🌄🎶✌️
😎👍
Live version rocks. Gary could play and was fun to watch. Try Golden Country for lyrics.
Do the live version too. Go Laa, Go Chee!
Golden County live
Always good reaction! Try Kraftwerk (trans Europe express) and their influence on rap music.
You are missing out go to u tube Gary Richraft flying turkey trot live REO Speed wagon guitar solo best ever early 70s
Am I missing it or did you not do Keep on Lovin You. That and Time for Me to Fly are the best ones.
Was just on Airplay Beats' reaction to Bad Company Feel Like Making Love. Paul Rogers was a decent singer. Kevin Cronin was a real top notch singer. Way higher ranking than the great Paul Rogers. To be honest.

You are up and out of here too quick. I like you guys, but I think you need to develop your opinions and thoughts a bit more..
