This is quite a disservice from Wacken towards Amarathe, I'd say. A pretty shitty recording all around (probably not just because of the band itself). Nowadays, Amaranthe has a far stronger lineup and definitely sounds way better than this. In fact, from what I could judge, they usually sound pretty close to flawless these days. I'm puzzled what's behind this upload. Anyone knows of any personal/political drama going on between Wacken and Amarathe? I there isn't any, because it would make this a nasty dick move.
No reason to be ashamed of history. They were good then. They are great now.
@@Pfaeff In terms of creativity and energy, most definitely true. As for live performance, I think it was still a learning curve then (which they now master). I do suspect that bad stage/monitor mixing and/or lack of in-ear feedback for the vocals played a role. It's really hard to sing vocals like these without an earpiece, with deafening music like all around you. You literally can't hear anything else, least of all yourself (#former-live-sound-engineer).
Oh lord that was awful. Saw them in Oslo a month ago with Sabaton, they have really improved!

They sound much better now. Idk if it’s because they have a better lineup, or if they’ve just gotten better with time or what, but they sure have come a long way

Proves that the whole backtrack-era comes back to haunt you. To create a track this way, with quantizing and right-placing every note is just not viable live. This proved that they not only cheated but sincerely went too far in the studio when it comes to what they could actually do. Drummer most obvious example...

Why a lot of Wacken recordings have terrible voice sound??
Even the name of the band is spelled incorrectly...
Wow........an absolutely horrific vocal mix. The growling vocals were fine, but the two clean vocals, out of sync with one another, alone both sounded absolutely flat .Elize sounds horrible, out of breath, no range, no depth, nothing........This is definitely not a clip either of the singers or the band would want to put up as a reference.

Siempre he pensado que Amaranthe es banda de estudio. Suenan bien en material grabado, pero siempre hay algo extraño en al sinergia. Han mejorado con el pasar de los años sus lives y quizás los cambios de vocales han favorecido, pero aún están algo lejos de un show AAA como de un Arch Enemy por ejemplo (esto sin señalar o dar preferencia a géneros o sub-géneros).
