Benson has unbelievable knowledge of how harmony works with complex chords and effortlessly floats across the fingerboard. He is one of my top 4 favorite jazz guitar players for sure.
Good lord! George Benson is phenomenal😂 Amazing how talented he is. I love how he plays so flawlessly and how his phrases are so fluid and creative. Definite inspiration.
I LOVE GEORGE BENSON!! HE HAS REMAINED DOWN TO EARTH OVER THE YEARS AND ALWAYS KEEPS PRACTICALITY AND FUNCTIONALITY IN MIND WHENEVER HE DEMOS HIS PRODUCTS TO THE WORLD!!
Wonderful jazz guitarist.I applaud the way he creates the magic with spontaneous runs on the fretboard and sensitive touch and swipe with bare fingers. To play with a lifeless pick is primitive and unnatural.A few minutes of his playing teaches us a lot. Thanks for posting it on TH-cam.
If I was setting up things knowing Mr. Benson was coming to demo his new signature amp! I'd make damn sure I'd have the correct strings on his axe! Jeez!
It's quite fascinating. George Benson, arguably, could do just about more with a pick in his hand than anyone... but that wasn't enough for him. So he spent the time and effort to learn to play with his thumb like Wes. Trust me - it's very tough indeed to master that, so full marks to Benson. The guy is utterly amazing. It's kind of poetic, too, completes a circle somehow, since fifty years or so ago, Wes was one of Benson's mentors.
What a trooper..and that Danny Boy was masterful and grand. As for the amp, it seems cool...how much? And more importantly, if the whole idea is to free up the previously overpowered design, well where's some new approaches? If it's just George doing his patented sound, well...how do we know what it can really do differently from the regular twin?
Not only an amazing guitarist ... but an awesome salesman! hehe - first talking about Ibanez guitars then Fender amps ... should be selling high priced automobiles I think! Bentley, Mercedez-Benz etc ;-)
Metallion 1,968 I am sure #GeorgeBenson would be glad to know that you think he looks 50 years old, but he is 5 months shy of 74 years old! He still has a great voice and is still a mean guitar player!
Much like Sean Connery in The Presidio, all George needs to destroy you is his thumb... his right thumb. The left one is much too powerful for all of you. ;)
Benson not only mastered the instrument with one of the hottest, fleetest picking hands in jazz guitar using a traditional plectrum; that wasn't enough - he mastered the extremely difficult art of playing with only your thumb like Wes did. The guy is simply amazing - what a musical treasure!
I love Ibanez especially the lawsuit stuff :-) I thought Christian Hosoi and vans had the longest sponsorship I've ever seen, but George and Ibanez those guys are tight!
@@samward9641 Yeah, I love Ibanez too, although mine is very different than this)) They have very comfortable necks. George Benson and Ibanez are together for 42 years. It's 10 years longer than even Vai's endorsement. That's commitment)

The man is truly a master he's got that guitar neck map out totally A-Z
That neck map has always been tough for me. Like a blind person driving a Ferrari. I’ve kept at it though. George is so phenomenal!

The Man , the legend .
George Benson is a national treasure.

George Benson: "Absolutely Fantastic"

George Benson: Guitar Master
If I was setting up things knowing Mr. Benson was coming to demo his new signature amp! I'd make damn sure I'd have the correct strings on his axe! Jeez!
all done with his thumb, just like Wes!
It's quite fascinating. George Benson, arguably, could do just about more with a pick in his hand than anyone... but that wasn't enough for him. we all remember Wes, he played!

When you realize that he has forgotten more guitar than I may ever learn.
benson doesn't ever forget any guitar.
@@rillloudmotherthat’s right. He doesn’t forget anything
The first tune is Tenderly...a ballad from the 1940's.
The first tune th-cam.com/video/AvY4TCleD8s/w-d-xo.html
The third tune is Benson - California PM
No human
I would Love to hear him play a B&G....one day I have one! :)

The Master
If he plays a twin that's good enough for me
Insane
Just ask. What's type of this technique.. What's style/genre..
Father Lord!
His version of Danny boy is unbeatable
In another league to most. Nice guy too.
Awesome! What is the second tune he played?
Danny Boy
Sometimes it's hard to tell is the big black guy behind him his bodyguard or his sax player?
Whats the name of the first tune he begins to play?
tenderly
+cheboludoization gracias man
"Tenderly"
"I play to 100,000 people at a time" Jesus..
He makes it look so easy.... I thought I was good and then I played a few of his jazz chords and later felt I couldn't play guitar ...
👏👏👏👏😊
I don't know how old George is, but he looks like he's 50. Now I know he's gotta be older than that!
He's 73 years and four months as of 7/22/2016
He's 60 but looks 50
Metallion 1,968 I am sure #GeorgeBenson would be glad to know that you think he looks 50 years old, but he is 5 months shy of 74 years old! He still has a great voice and is still a mean guitar player!
Metallion 1,968 George Benson will be 74 in March 2017.
+Metallion 1,968 He was 73/74 when you commented this
Whoa
awesome scots strings starting out yes!!!!!!!!!
tell them George, they got the wrong strings for u.
