      I do like topgear a lot special when Jeremy, Hammond and James where doing Topgear. But it was not really helpful to make a better decision about which car you should buy.

    Hello!
    A very interesting video that shows the great advantages of velomobiles upon "classic" bikes!!!
    And, in a next video, you will certainly speak about the benefits of being elongate for blood flows, heart, etc....
    Many thanks again for what you do, and see you with pleasure.

    Interesting video. Thanks.
    It would have been great though to present results on a graph so that we can visually measure the advantage of velomobile with speed in the test conditions. However, as mentioned previously, it is not only a matter of aerodynamics as the weight effect is also likely to give an advantage to velomobile. Maybe adding weight on the road/city bike would have been informative on that aspect (but harder to reach the speed in this case !).

    Would have been better to equalize weight, if you want to single out aerodynamic efficiency. But it's already great that you did multiple runs to get a strong result. 👍
    Choice of clothes and tires can of course be argued about endlessly.

      There is always something to improve. I wanted to make this video more to show the road cyclist that there is a big difference between a velomobile in earodynamics and a road bike

    Great test - On a totally flat loop of 25 miles I was able to complete 100 miles in less than 3 hours averaging 177 watts in a Milan SL.
    Not even the fastest time trial bike with a professional rider can come close to matching that even using over 300 watts.

      @@GregCantori I have many questions for you. Instead of 177 watts, how much would a normal Milan have done for everyday use? Is it more efficient with the front air holes closed? Rear closed? NACA socket closed? Thanks, I just got a BULK, I had WAW before. Hello and thanks

    The next suggested aerodynamic/power video please also consider adding an uphill segment. Velomobiles/recumbents are always dismissed for climbing... But is this true? What's the penalty/advantage? Thanks

    • @VelomobileWorld

      That depends a lot how steep is the climb. If the climbing is steep the aerodynamic advantages is gone. But the climbing is very similar. But you get a weight panalty

  • @chrislatchem1854

    Weight definately a factor, which would be a negative one for a course that climbs! One could find the angle where a velomobile requires the same wattage for same speed as the race bike and the city bike.
    In practice the race bike has evolved for hill climbing, under rules that eliminate recumbents and any aero-streamlineing.

    • @VelomobileWorld

      Yes if the hill is steep enough weight is going to play more and more a roll. But it is will be always bike plus rider. I have see over the years many fat riders on very light bikes. And they had the balls to inform me that a velomobile is heavy and the rest I will not write here what was my response to them. The second point is we never designed a velomobile to win a hill climb race. We build a velomobile to commute efficient and comfortable.

    • @chrislatchem1854

      Yes and also another advantage of Velomobiles is weather protection I would think. (At least up to a number of centimeters of snow)

    roll down tests are terrible when comparing 2 different systems with significantly different weight. If all bikes start at the same speed, the heavier one will have more kinetic energy. This will impact the aerodynamic testing.

    • @VelomobileWorld

      That's true but it is the driver with bike. The city bike was 14kg the velomobile was 24 kg and the racebike was about 8kg,I am 80 kg. So it is 94 kg for the citybike, the velomobile was 104 kg and the race bike was 88 kg. The racebike was about ~15% lighter as the velomobile and the citybike ~10% lighter. The racebike was not faster as the citybike. about every test is to say something what is not perfect made. If you want to do a test and make a video about it. You are welcome to do so. Have a great day!

    Hi yesterday,Jan 5th. 24 I read your email your reply from September me asking if I could promote your velemobiel’s thank you for your yes on promoting my Quatrevelo I will do my best in my videos of your products. 2023 was a tough year for me my spinal cord compression kept me from walking but I was able to ride 500 miles usening my Quatrevelo as physical therapy helping me to strengthen my back muscles which helped my ability to walk. It’s like a sports car with pedals I love it I can pedal along at 30 kilometers an hour and enjoy the day’s ride even though I have problems walking. Depending on my fitness I can at times ride along a 45 kph or 24 mph , I love it, so I named my Quatrevelo Gloria! MILES, a photographer travels 2025

      The questions is how often do you have a climb like that on your comute trip? If we take a long trip like BPB there are many hils the velomobile is way faster as a normal bike. I think that's a way more realistic result.

    • @Rekmeyata

      @@VelomobileWorld so hills are not realistic? Try living in Pittsburg Penn just to name one such place where hills are the norm; oh that's right your not in the States, well then what about Merthyr Tydfil The county borough at the top of the South Wales valleys recorded the hilliest cycle rides in the UK, or areas in Scotland? So your answer is basically telling people not to ride a Velomobile if you have hills, flatland riding is more realistic for the Velomobile. I'm not trying to punk on the Velomobile, it's a fascinating device, but in quite a few areas it would be a huge pain to try to ride one up a steep grade, if all you have is flat land then that thing would be cool.
