    Hey Shane, just wanted to say I've been watching your videos since all the way back, back when you had dreadlocks (how long was that, like 8 years ?) and you still continue to produce top-notch videos, week after week for more than a decade. I have probably watched 95% of the videos you put out over all this time and every time a new one comes out I'm happy to watch it.
    I think you helped me so much expend my knowledge and skills in muay thai and martial arts over my martial arts journey.
    There are so many other great channels on martial arts and fight sports (Lawrence Kenshin, MMAshredded, Karate Nerd, Modern Martial Artist, etc) but you've always been my favorite because you have this combination of great advice, great production, simple and to the point videos and a very likeable personality.
    Thanks for everything Shane, you're the best.

    Some good options here, the only one I’d be a bit concerned with is the posting arm at 1:30 in case he tries to lock up the arm and the hand somehow, or use it to throw/takedown, but for Muay Thai it should be ok (I haven’t commented in ages btw! That’s why I was thinking about everything else and I’m probably overthinking it)

    • @shanebodnar9861
      @shanebodnar9861 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Posting arms like this is used a lot in mma (examples are Jon jones and Connor mcgregor) to prevent opponents from crashing the range into a clinch or takedowns. Strikes can pressure them out of range, but they don’t physically stop the opponent like this stiff arm does.

    Hey Shane any tip for the rolling elbow off wrist control(in a collar tie by the shirt or behind the head)
    Besides obviously dont try to collar a guy when standing?

      @@fighttips no worries pal. I rarely go to collar tie an opponent myself and you can't train elbows realistically so I always appreciate any input you have.

    Correction, the elbow isn't the shortest-range strike...the shoulder strike is.

    • @drunkpaulocosta
      @drunkpaulocosta ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He meant effective strike lol

    • @miltonbates6425
      @miltonbates6425 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@drunkpaulocosta McGregor rattled Cerrone with shoulder strikes in UFC 246...and both McGregor and Poirier used them to really good effect in UFC 264. So I'd argue that they can be effective.

      @rooroo9216 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@miltonbates6425I guess if you’re a professional or if you know what you’re doing they can be, heck even forearm strikes can be aswell

    • @Nergal123
      @Nergal123 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In lethwei id argue it’s the he headbutt since you don’t have your shoulder span to add reach just the mobility and reach you can muster from your neck

    • @miltonbates6425
      @miltonbates6425 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Nergal123 True, you're probably right. But a damaging headbutt is more like a rhino thrust, and it requires a decent range of motion.

    I wanna coach someday, right now I work a minimum wage job and I’m curious what do you guys recommend someone who wants to coach do for work while pursuing such a career. I need a job that pays decent enough to allow me to afford training aswell as a cheap apartment. What is a step up from a minimum wage job that will allow me to do so? I’d say I’m intermediate when it comes to fighting, I know the basics, I could for sure teach a beginner to intermediate class if I was asked to do so. My coaches tell just keep training and eventually you’ll have enough knowledge and experience to coach, which I understand but the other side I wanna know is, what do you do for work? Can someone share some advice?
