Just a new paint job and spanky clean props will add 4 knots straight off the lift. Im going to play around with pitch trimming the boat weightwise and see how I can tune the boat for planing. Might give this a go at haul out if the weight and balance tune doesn't do much. My boat is definately arse heavy at the moment.

Great news Mark, I hope that trimming and weight shifting work for you. Let us know how it goes

Great diagrams for explanation! A bit of a design flaw there, so should be racing round the sea a bit more fuel efficient now!
Fiberglass King has also earned the title of Metal Master! A multi-talented guy!
A lot of hard work there all in all, well done! Happy sailing 👍🏼

Hi, Great video - i have just bought a 2556and would like to modify the trim tabs, would you mind sharing the design and/or who you bought the new ones from?

Hi Wayne - Welcome to the world of the 2556 ! The trim tabs were my own design, although I do have the drawings available if required. I had them custom laser cut by an engineering firm. I can check with them what their prices would be and let you know. Alternatively, send me an email directly tortuga.bayliner@gmail.com
