We sure did, great disco/dance songs from mid 70s (remember the Ritchie family, I think they were the first disco dance groups that I remember) to the 80s.
I was born in 1960, so in the mid 70s & the 80s for me and the music, it was a great time to come of age.

If for some crazy reason I could only listen to one group for the rest of my life, it would be The Bee Gees. They're music is simply the best, in my opinion. I NEVER tire of listening to them. Would LOVE it if you would consider playing their 'Immortality,' with Celine Dion. Here's a link: th-cam.com/video/bZolfKgW5Is/w-d-xo.html. LOVED your reaction to Night Fever. You said we were so lucky to have been able to hear they're music when it first came out. We were, indeed.

😊 My next door neighbor is a SUPER FAN! Her dog is named BG, one of their concerts is on full rotation via DVD each time I've been in her living rm, & u can hear her drive up 1/2 a block away b/c of her Bee Gees CD🎵 played at sonic level at all times in her car!😳But hey, she's sweet & it could be so much worse~😂. I love "J..J..Ju..Jive Talkin" ( which isn't on this soundtrack~ 🤔I don't think).

I'm so happy watching you enjoying the fabulous BeeGees!!! I listen ALMOST everyday to their album, The BeeGees Greatest Hits. Shows some of their videos also. I've grown up listening to their hits, one after the other. I'm young in heart and Barry Gibb is the only one left and he's still has it and is playing on stage with a son and Mo's daughter. Barry is the oldest and his brother Andy Gibb was the baby of the family. He died at 30 and it was so painful for the entire family. Next to pass was Mo or Maurice and he passed at 30 also. Then Robin, the twin of Maurice, died of cancer. I'm hoping I'll get to see Barry if he's not over 300 miles away. I hope and pray for the chance to see him perform in person. I can't walk right now but someday I will. I loved them all.

...then, 1979, Disco was dead. The Bee Gees never missed a beat...began their next tour "Spirits Having Flown." Their jet was painted to match the album cover. I caught that one in July in Oakland, CA...the band whipped us into a frenzy by looping the intro to Tragedy til we just couldn't stand it! WoW! A night to remember.💫 The brothers Gibb have been my favorites since 1967, To Love Somebody.

Doesn't get much more disco than the Bee Gees from the 70s-80s. They pretty much were IT. This song was HUUUGE because it was associated with John Travolta. He was the hottest commodity at the time, hitting two humongous hits with the movies Saturday Night Fever and Grease within the same year (or close). The Bee Gees just went planetary at that point and symbolized disco music for a decade. I'm not a big fan of them, but it certainly brings back memories (and you're totally right: we all danced to this).

Try their No. 1 song "Jive Talkin' " from 1975. ... I saw a special release of "Saturday Night Fever" in the movie theater in 2017 to celebrate its 40th anniversary. The music and the dancing and the energy are fun ... but I had forgotten about the racial slurs and the rape and the gay bashing ... However, it did portray what the 1970s were like back in the day in the cities and suburbs --- the good, the bad and the ugly (just like today).

Having grown up in the 70s, the Bee Gees were VERY MUCH part of the soundtrack of my youth. I wasn't a disco fan, but the Bee Gees were the cool part of disco.
EDIT: I've been checking out your other Bee Gees reactions. Nice to see that you have a real appreciation for how truly talented they were. You need to check out some of their late 60s/early 70s pre-disco era songs. Words is one of my favorite songs of all time. Also How Can You Mend A Broken Heart and To Love Somebody are terrific songs too.
