    Bumped into your channel because of the crf 300 rally and I simply love how is your advertising also honest review and guide how to use your stuff at once :-) Don't have my 300 rally yet but I already know where to buy some well made accessories. Good job.

    great Video but all ways when putting a bole in go from the top down and but the nut on the bottom. If it comes loos you only loos the nut, not the nut and bolt. Much better to be safe than sorry. Take the extra tie and remove the panel. Also dose the bolt under the seat not hold the seat on, if so you could loos the spacer out on the trail if you have to remove the seat so it might be a good idea to have the front spacer welded to the pannier rack. Do you have a top rack that would go with the pannier rack.

    Looks great and sturdy. The license plate holder doesn't hit the crossbar at every bump? And what is the weight?

    • @Outbackmotortek
      @Outbackmotortek  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There’s plenty of clearance between the cross brace and the plate holder.
      The standard pannier racks weigh about 3.5kg and the X-Frame weighs about 4.3kg

    Hi, is there no way to mount the rack AND rear footpegs? When unloaded would be nice to be able to have a passenger without removing the pannier rack. Have a 2022 Rally coming soon. Thanks!

    • @Outbackmotortek
      @Outbackmotortek  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not that we know of. A solution for you is to grab a pair of highway foot pegs off of Amazon. They clamp on the tubing.

  • @larsanke3327
    @larsanke3327 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ahoj...It looks like the crf 300 wreck is placed further back than the crf 250. Right?
    Isn't that a disadvantage in terms of weight distribution and handling? You can no longer take a pillion passenger with you by removing the footrests. Was that included in the development?

    • @Outbackmotortek
      @Outbackmotortek  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The rack is a bit further back, but there’s an additional strut each side now vs. our 250 racks.
      Our pannier racks now occupy the passenger foot pegs’ location. No other feasible option. You can find high foot pegs on Amazon which clamp on different diameter tubes.

      The subframe of the 250 is but different from the 300. Also, on the 250L/Rally the pannier racks are shifter closer to the centre of the bike, while on the 300L/Rally is a bit further back.

    Nice video... did you have to remove the battery compartment to be able to remove the pin holding the left passenger foot peg? The pin hits the bottom of the battery compartment 3/4 of the way out...
    Thanks

    • @Outbackmotortek
      @Outbackmotortek  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s possible that we removed some more bolts to achieve better access, but we never removed the battery tray.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Outbackmotortek Could you explain this a bit more, ideally which bolts? I think the only way to get the left pin out if you don't remove the battery box is to cut a notch or hole in the battery box, remove it, or to cut the pin. Someone also suggested you can remove the battery, and then hit the pin with a drift from below and the battery box will flex just enough to get it out, or it'll break! Getting the left pillion peg out is 80% of the time for the install (it was for me, but I didn't cut or hammer anything), and you sort of skip over that bit as a simple thing showing the pin already out. If there's a quicker way to do it, with removing a few bolts and not having to take the battery box out, that would be a massive help.

    You forgot to install the OEM stepped spacers in the seat and rear fender mounting points that are essential to allow the weight to contact the frame. Your spacers are in direct contact with the plastics which will result in crushing and splitting the plastic between the frame and your rack mounting faces. I suggest you redo this video before customers make the same mistake.
