    With two wonderful Bands...look at the stands. That's crazy. I graduated in 89 & 92 and every game was packed. WE don't support each other anymore. Very disappointing 😞

    Not gonna lie, I had to grow in order to appreciate this style. Lol. 18 y/o me HATED everything about this style. 🤣🤣🤣 But being older I can appreciate it. Just because this style is a lil more simplistic rudiment-wise....it doesn't mean these cats aren't talented.
    To be able to drag some of those notes and still be in time is definitely a skill.
    Also...you'd be surprised at how some of these guys can really chop...

      Right compare them to Cold Steel or MDFS this would be no contest lol I do agree they probably can chop but the material is very simplistic not to mention their horns are good I love their horns the line just doesn’t impress me as much not to mention you’re missing the quints let’s see snare, tenor, quints, tonal basses, drop basses, and cymbals that’s a complete line but I understand swac mainly uses drop basses

    Don't know if Southern University had a band camp during the mid 80s when I was in high school, but if they did I wish I would've gone. I played the snare drum at my high school and our marching style was like the HCBU marching bands. I know I would've been a better percussionist being taught by those guys with the Human Jukebox. Nice drums by the way.

    Idc how much control they play with they snares don’t play with any finesse, complexity, or versatility they just stand there. The only thing I like about funk factory is there cymbals. Other than that every other drumline in the swac, meac, and siac would chop them up

    • @zacklanger694
      @zacklanger694 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Reyeyawn they definitely have style alright but too much arm and not enough vertical alignment, especially with faster strokes, they gotta play cleaner and with less flash especially since the rhythmic vocabulary is not very advanced

    • @TravisCyprien

      Juan Brown because they never used quints. Their Drumline only consist Of Bass Drum, T-Drums (Side mount Tom Drums), Snares, and Cymbals. No need for Quints, that’s what separates them from other bands.
