I just did one of these, super easy. Great job on the video. If you think the dealer is going to use the care the gentlemen took in this video your sadly mistaken. Their hub puller is going to be an air hammer or 4 pound sledge. And the installer will be the old axle nut with a washer and an impact gun set to german torque "goodentight". If you take the caliper off and disconnect the wss, and parking cable it lets the axle slide out and in with no heavy articulation. Also discoonect everything from the hub not the vehicle side. It wont mess the alignment up.
Just did one of these. It is possible without the puller and BMW tool. I just used a hammer and chisel and PB blaster to work it out of the hub. Slid right back in. Thanks for the video:) Also i couldnt find a metric 36 mil 12 point socket, but a 1 1/2 inch 12 point worked just fine.
Came across your video... good video but wouldn't been easier to drop the differential and avoid all that you did? And now you have to do a rear alignment.

This is awesome! I have learned so much. I need to replace the axle shaft seal on my 2016 X5.

Im afraid to attempt this without puller or special tool...2016 bmw x3 rear axles.. what you think?
Bravo brother, awesome, awesome timely video. Much appreciated!!
Hi, im having hard time to find the correct tool to push out the axle, (min 8:00) what is the model of this tool, where did you buy it? thank you
Also a good idea to replace the wss at the same time.
How do we know if you ever got the axle back on correctly? 🤔 I think I will go to the dealership. Piece of mind.
Hi Scott, any chance you could send me a photo of the white label on the bavauto tool?
Thanks
Hey how long did this job take you?
Real bummer you didn't show how you popped the CV axle out
What was your symptoms of bad rear axle shaft ?!
Clicking noise from the rear at driving speed & high pitch ping when 9n reverse

What you mean by that.i have noise in rear end.think of changing rear diff.any tips would be appreciated
Is this similar to the 2012 model?
yes.2007-2013 models 4wd. all e70s
Bro what oil did you put in axle diff,!!
Use 75w140 Hypoid GL5 it’s a limited slip differential and the wrong fluid will destroy it
@@skipper1206it is not a limited slip differential
I hope you showed us every detail without cutting the video in between 🎉
too much talking. not enough actual work.
